Chapter 63 - 63: Meeting a Big Boss, Shocked the Crowd

Mu Ye hesitated for a moment, “Are you suggesting..

Lu Yan casually nodded, “A minor injury would suffice.”

In the cutthroat world of Tianle Media, underhanded tactics were inherited from the top down.

After all, to climb the ladder in the entertainment industry, one had to resort to unscrupulous means.

Lu Yan saw nothing wrong with what he was doing.

“Great idea, Brother Yan,” Mu Ye’s eyes brightened, but then he hesitated.

“What if we get caught…’

Lu Yan found the notion amusing, “As long as Xie Yu and his team don’t find out, who do you think will side with them in the production team right now?”

Mu Ye felt reassured and immediately followed the staff, intending to find some nails and blades.

Lu Yan retraced his steps and happened to run into Xie Yu and Xu Xiyun coming back from the cafeteria.

“What a coincidence, Xie Yu,” Lu Yan’s face remained unchanged, even breaking into a smile, “The competition is tomorrow. Are you all prepared? What song are you planning to choose? I think ‘Mountain Ghost Ballad’ is pretty good.”

Xie Yu walked straight past him, not even sparing him a glance.

Xu Xiyun, unfazed due to his carefree nature, also ignored Lu Yan.

He casually caught up with Xie Yu, “Brother Xie, Teacher Si said she’ll come over again tomorrow at noon, and it seems like she’s bringing a friend or something.”

Xie Yu responded absentmindedly, still not giving Lu Yan a second look.

The door to Dance Room 2 slammed shut behind them.

Lu Yan clenched his fists, his expression murky.

What he despised the most was Xie Yu’s nonchalant demeanor, as if nothing in the world mattered to him.

And then there was Si Fuqing, recklessly arrogant.

Now that Xie Yu and Si Fuqing had joined forces, they had successfully become the most annoying people in his eyes.

Lu Yan walked into the restroom and found a stall. He answered a call from Tianle Media, “Hello? It’s me. You want to make Si Fuqing look bad during tomorrow’s live broadcast?”

The voice on the other end spoke a few more sentences.

Lu Yan nodded, “Alright, I understand. I’ll leave this matter to Mu Ye. He’s been harboring a grudge against Si Fuqing for a while now; he’s the perfect candidate.”

Ending the call, he exhaled deeply, feeling the Imots in his chest untangle.

It seemed that both Si Fuqing and Xie Yu were destined to become sacrifices on the altar of ‘Youth With You,’ paving the way for his ascent.

Back at the Villa.

Yu Tang returned home around seven o’clock.

Upon seeing Si Fuqing in the living room, her eyes lit up. She dashed over and enthusiastically hugged her, “Qingqing. ”

Si Fuqing thought to herself, it was a good thing she’d been working out since her revival. Otherwise, this frail body of hers would have shattered under Yu Tang’s exuberant embrace.

Before she could help Yu Tang up, a calm voice, imbued with authority, resonated in the room.

“Get up.”

Yu Tang shuddered and quickly stood to attention.

She saluted and spoke loudly, “Reporting to Uncle Nine, I was just testing how huggable Qingqing is. She passed the test! What are your instructions?”

Si Fuqing, who had successfully resisted being knocked over by Yu Tang, nearly stumbled over these words.

A hand abruptly grasped her wrist, steadying her before letting go.

Si Fuqing turned her head to meet the young man’s deep, phoenix-like eyes. Yu Xiheng’s expression remained undisturbed, his words as succinct as ever,

“Be careful.’

“I’m fine,” Si Fuqing replied, earnest in her tone. “My loyalty to you, Boss, is as transparent as day and night. I don’t have any ill-intentions”

Her ill-intentions was primarily towards money.

She was genuinely an innocent darling.

Yu Xiheng’s eyebrow lifted slightly. He then turned to Yu Tang, his tone revealing neither pleasure nor displeasure, “No chocolate for a month.” Yu Tang deflated instantly.

She scratched her head. Had she still not mastered the art of flattery? She really needed to go back and study.

Feng San finally dared to emerge from the kitchen. He cleared his throat,

“Brother Nine, Miss Yu Tang, it’s getting late. I’ll escort Miss Si home.”

Yu Xiheng hummed in acknowledgment, “Go ahead.”

Tearfully, Yu Tang said her goodbyes, “Qingqing, you must come to see me often.”

Only Qingqing could rescue her from her Uncle Nine’s iron grip. Si Fuqing bent down, smiled, and caressed her face, “Of course.”

Gathering her medical kit, she left.

Yu Tang held her face, “I’ve been ‘turned’ by Qingqing.” Feng San:

How could his Brother Nine have such an eccentric niece?

The next day.

Si Fuqing went to Lin’s First Hospital.

On the way, she checked the tracking number Ji Xingzhi had sent her.

The package would arrive in Lin tomorrow.

She pondered.

Her luck had been siphoned by the Zuo family, benefitting everyone around them.

Every individual had absorbed some of her luck.

When the first strand of her luck returned, she had already selected her first target.

In the hospital room, Mu Qingmeng sat up as soon as she saw the young woman enter.

“You’re here,” she said, delighted. “I was just telling the nurse yesterday that I didn’t know if you would come today. And here you are.”

“It seems we’re quite in sync, Auntie Mu,” Si Fuqing nodded and smiled. “I’ve been busy with work, so I’m a bit late.”

“You’re on that TV show, right?” Mu Qingmeng held her hand, concerned, “You must take care of yourself.”

“I’m still young, ” Si Fuqing responded, discreetly checking Mu Qingmeng’s pulse. “What about you? You’ve had this heart condition for over twenty years, haven’t you?”

“Yes,” Mu Qingmeng sighed softly, “Who would’ve thought that I’d acquire so many ailments while still young? I can’t live peacefully even before getting old.’

Si Fuqing released her hand, her brow slightly furrowed.

Mu Qingmeng smiled, “Your show is airing today, right? ‘Youth With You’? I’ll be watching.”

Si Fuqing blinked, ‘Would Auntie Mu like to watch it live? Today’s mainly athletic competitions, there’re not too many performances, so it won’t be too stimulating for your heart.”

“Really?” Mu Qingmeng sounded thrilled. “Will they let me in?”

“No problem,” Si Fuqing assured her. “It’s a live broadcast today, and I have audience tickets. You can go in.”

“Wonderful,” Mu Qingmeng was elated, “I’m almost fully recovered anyway.

Let’s go there later.”

As they were talking, a knock sounded at the door to the hospital room.

It was a caregiver.

“Ma’am, Mrs. Chen is here to…

Mu Qingmeng cut her off, her tone turning icy, “Tell her I’ve been discharged and she need not concern herself with my affairs any longer.”

The caregiver nodded and left to relay the message.

Noon.

The production team for “Youth With You” had rented Lin’s open-air stadium specifically for this episode.

As it was their first live broadcast, the team was particularly cautious.

The show started at 2 pm, but fans were allowed entry from noon.

The mentors were all on high alert.

Except Si Fuqing was missing once again.

“She’s absent again? Took another leave?” Li Jingchen slammed his pen onto the table, his eyebrows arching in disdain, “Why does she even bother showing up? She might as well quit the show. Does she think she owns the place? I’ve never seen anyone as unprofessional as her!”

“Teacher Li, please calm down,” Lin Qingyan spoke softly, “Teacher Si has always been known for taking leaves. Besides, she’s had a lot on her plate recently; it’s only normal for her to rest.”

“Enough, Teacher Lin, no need to defend her,” Li Jingchen grew even more impatient, “I know exactly the kind of person she is; she’s nothing but ungrateful.”

Lin Qingyan just smiled and refrained from speaking further.

Li Jingchen glanced at the time, “Let’s go downstairs. We need to distribute the uniforms to the contestants.”

Lin Qingyan casually mentioned, “I heard that Teacher Yuan will be returning from abroad for the next performance. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Besides the four mentors on “Youth With You,” there was also a female pop icon involved in the show, who acted as the starter of the boy group.

She was extremely busy and had been abroad for the past two weeks, appearing only in the first episode.

Li Jingchen nodded, “That should be the case.” The three mentors headed downstairs.

At the entrance, Si Fuqing arrived with Mu Qingmeng.

Lin Qingyan, sharp-eyed as she was, spotted them instantly.

“Teacher Si, you can’t bring outsiders in without the production team’s permission, can you?” She raised her voice in astonishment, “What’s the meaning of this?”

Li Jingchen furrowed his brow and scolded, “You’re late, and you don’t even follow rules. What are you trying to pull off? If you can’t handle being a mentor, then quit!”

Hearing this, Mu Qingmeng turned to Si Fuqing, ‘Miss Si, is my being here causing you trouble? Maybe I should—”

Si Fuqing interrupted her, lifting her eyes slightly, “No trouble. You can go in.” As Mu Qingmeng turned her head, her face came into full view.

Li Jingchen, who had been about to continue his scolding, suddenly paused, looking somewhat astonished, “Senior Mu?!”
