Chapter 62 - 62: Mysterious Force

He had always exuded an aura of authority.

Even when sitting quietly, he emanated a sense of deep, still water that exerted pressure on those around him.

Now, as he let his guard down, his features seemed all the more defined.

His light amber eyes shimmered as if galaxies were condensed within them.

“I’m sorry,” Si Fuqing tilted her head slightly, “I didn’t know you were on the phone, Boss. I’ll step out.”

Yu Xiheng nodded gently without attempting to keep her in the room. “Fine, come back in a bit.”

The door closed again.

The voice on the other end of the phone paused for a few seconds, then quivered as it spoke, “Master, my ears must be deceiving me. I heard a woman’s voice!”

Yu Xiheng had no interest in pursuing this topic. “Continue,” he said in a placid tone.

“Anyway, I’m pretty sure it’s T18,” the voice on the other end grudgingly added.

“Damn it, they will pay for this!”

Outside the room, Si Fuqing leaned against the wall.

She didn’t know who Yu Xiheng was talking to, but she had clearly heard the term T18.

Her second senior brother, though far away from her, sometimes felt omnipresent.

Who would have thought that the organization he founded years ago would leap to international prominence—and that she would be lured into joining it?

Few people worldwide probably knew that the ‘T’ in T18 didn’t stand for a word in English; it was simply the initial of her brother’s surname.

Those were days she’d rather not revisit.

Si Fuqing sighed.

Minutes later, the door to the study swung open again.

Feng San also came rushing up, blurting, “Brother Nine, T—”

Yu Xiheng raised his hand, cutting him off. He turned his head and met Si Fuqing’s foxy eyes with a smile, “Ever heard of

Feng San looked over in surprise as well.

“Is it an acronym for something in English?” Si Fuqing tilted her head. “Doesn’t seem to have a particular meaning.”

“No, it’s an intelligence organization,” Yu Xiheng clarified, his voice even. “You doing alright today?”

“Hm?” Si Fuqing smoothly caught up with his change of subject. “I’m used to being slandered. But I did have her account banned, so I feel somewhat vindicated.”

Feng San tentatively asked, “You had someone do it?”

“Yep, hired a hacker off a second-hand goods website,” Si Fuqing drawled. “He said he was short on cash for coke, so he gave me a good deal.” Of course, she couldn’t admit that she had done it herself.

She was just a ‘salted fish,’ after all.

Feng San:

What the heck?

Feng San looked at her, bemused. “Miss Si, if you told me you’d sell something for a bottle of coke, I might actually believe you.”

“Don’t believe me?” Si Fuqing tossed her phone over. “There, that’s the second-hand goods website. I generously transferred him enough for a case of coke.”

The screen clearly displayed the chat and transaction details.

After reading it, Feng San fell into a strange silence.

Feng San felt as if his worldview was crumbling.

Yu Xiheng looked up. “That’s enough, you can leave now.”

Feng San promptly withdrew, thoughtfully closing the door behind him.

Still, something felt off to him.

Going downstairs, he pondered for a while before finally making a call.

Covering the phone, he lowered his voice, “Do you think someone from T18 would be short on cash for soda?”

“Nonsense!” the voice on the other end immediately raised in pitch. “They sell expensive intelligence; they’re black-hearted monsters. Would they be short on cash?”

“True,” Feng San was puzzled. “Are they out experiencing life or something?”

Otherwise, he couldn’t understand why someone from T18 would be on a second-hand goods website.

“What’s going on?” The other side pressed. “Did you really run into someone from T18? I heard a woman’s voice in the Master’s room just now. What’s happening?”

Feng San twitched his mouth but spoke calmly, “You ask Brother Nine. If he tells you, then I’ll tell you.”

The other side: “…I‘

Feng San ended the call, ignoring the multiple avatars flashing madly in the private chat group.

Those who wanted to punish him were now hoping for gossip from him— wishful thinking.

Finally, he felt vindicated.

Feng San closed his phone, finally coming to a realization.

Being good to Miss Si really paid off; she could help him soar.

Elsewhere, at the ‘Youth With You’ training base.

The trainees couldn’t afford to slack off, as the recording for the third episode was scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

Aside from the theme song performance, each group also needed to compete to select the song for the first episode’s public performance.

Speaking of the theme song, Mu Ye harbored intense resentment towards Si Fuqing. He had lost his chance to perform, all thanks to her.

So he had to secure more screen time for himself during the group battles.

Lu Yan was not much better; he was discontented because the center for the theme song was Xie Yu, not him.

“Do you think Xie Yu will choose the song ‘Mountain Ghost Ballad’?” Mu Ye asked.

The song was a pure Chinese composition, without rap, and moderately difficult.

However, it was hard to perform well because of its theatrical elements.

The song was performed by different artists countless times, but none could reach the height of the original singer, their attempts were laughable.

Lu Yan, who had learned some opera singing, could perform it quite well.

“Our company told me about the competition segments. There are three-legged races, four-person relay races, and swimming,” Lu Yan furrowed his brow. “We’ll be at an open-air sports stadium, and a lot of fans will come to watch.”

“Even though it’s not a public performance, it will be live-streamed.”

Live-streaming was their biggest concern.

If it were pre-recorded, editing could be done in their favor.

Mu Ye was anxious. “What should we do? If Xie Yu competes with you for this song, it’ll be to your disadvantage.”

One day, he happened to wake up early and discovered that Xie Yu was actually running ten kilometers.

Although dancing was a necessary skill for an idol, it was far removed from this kind of pure physical exercise

Moreover, some among them didn’t even know how to swim.

“There will always be a way,” Lu Yan said calmly. “The company will also help us.”

The two whispered to each other as they descended the stairs. They happened upon a team of staff carrying boxes up the staircase. Numbers were marked on the boxes.

Stopping, Lu Yan inquired, “What are these?”

Recognizing him, the staff member was eager to curry favor and replied respectfully, “These are the team uniforms for tomorrow. They’ve been sorted out and will be distributed to each trainee.”

Lu Yan’s eyes flickered slightly, and he smiled. “Thank you for your hard work.”

The staff continued upstairs.

Mu Ye looked puzzled. “Yan, aren’t we going to the practice room?”

“Wait a moment,” Lu Yan signaled with his eyes. “Follow me. Find Xie Yu’s shoes and clothes, then place a few nails or razor blades inside..”
