Chapter 108
Only a few seconds after the darkness spikes pushed its body upward and the darkness binding spell pulled the greenish demon’s body downward, all the screams of pain and horror stopped as the greenish demon lacked the tough skull that made it possible for the brownish demon to survive for so long.
And added with the greenish demon’s body that was practically kneeling on the ground, it didn’t take long for the darkness spikes to find their way to the greenish demon’s head and pierced its head open with ease.
And without a functioning head or more precisely a brain, of course, the greenish demon soon dropped dead, carrying along the intense pain that it felt right before it died right into its soul.
Blake was surprised that the screams that he wanted to hear from the greenish demon only lasted for a few seconds, much faster compared to when he heard the brownish demon’s screams.
And he also didn’t know either whether the greenish demon had really died that quickly or it was just strong enough to actually withstand the level of pain that made the tough brownish demon die from sheer shock.
But remembering how pure the fear from the first few seconds that he actually heard the greenish demon’s scream, Blake quickly assumed that it was the former case instead of the latter.
And while the greenish demon had been stuck in Blake’s spell combination, Blake himself had been using the darkness bullet spell to get himself out of the crutches of the tree roots.
And with the darkness bullet’s ability to destroy tree trunks, only the roots weren’t even a problem that he had to pay attention to given he was given the freedom of leisurely cutting off each tree roots without too much hurry.
.....
His claws were pretty much a decoration right now due to his negligible physique stat that was only two or three levels above a very athletic human average and he was also more confident using his spells with how he usually fought.
The green plant roots from the ground might have given him more problems compared to the tree roots that were holding onto him right now as they were much more in quantity, and Blake would spend quite a lot of time casting darkness bullets to get rid of all of them.
Fortunately, the tree roots were not so many and a couple of darkness bullets were all that it took for Blake to destroy most of the tree roots before using his negligible strength to break out of the rest.
And once he got out and felt the three spell combination had completely finished manifesting, Blake quickly cast a couple more darkness bullet spells as he cut open the circular earth wall to see the skewered corpse of the greenish demon.
However, as always, despite the fact that he was very much looking forward to making the greenish demon feel intense pain earlier, Blake only took a quick satisfying glance at most to the useless corpse on the ground before he put his focus on the thing that really matters, and it was none other than the greenish demon’s soul.
Now that he had actually decided to use the three combination spell that he was preventing himself from using before, Blake didn’t think much anymore about how his heart felt nor how his mind thought and only focused on the soul that might give him the taste of a soul that he had been missing for about a week now.
And to prevent himself from being ever interrupted again from eating the soul, Blake didn’t take his time and quickly grabbed the soul out of the air before putting it directly into his mouth.
The moment the greenish demon’s soul touched Blake’s tongue, Blake spontaneously closed his eyes in bliss as he tasted the same sweet taste that the brownish demon’s soul gave him before.
Although Blake could feel that the sweet taste was still very lacking compared to the brownish demon’s soul, the sweetness was still significantly more compared to when he ate the four humanoid demons with deformed wings.
The sweet taste was a rare one, and Blake spent at least 10 whole seconds keeping the soul in his mouth and enjoying the pure sweetness that the soul gave before finally swallowing it.
The sweetness that he felt in his mouth might be very enjoyable and sometimes Blake even wanted to hold the soul in his mouth for at least a minute long.
However, the true flavor explosion that gave him unparalleled satisfaction was when he had actually eaten the soul.
The combination of the sweetness and the savoriness of the soul was what caused Blake’s whole body to shiver in delight and also the reason why he didn’t keep the soul in his mouth for so long despite liking the taste.
And although Blake couldn’t say that the greenish demon’s soul that he had just eaten was the best-tasting soul he had ever eaten, Blake was sure from the savoriness of the soul that the greenish demon’s soul was worth 7 souls.
Blake took quite a long time savoring the taste of the soul and his brain was too occupied by the bliss that he felt that he had actually looked past about one very important matter.
The greenish demon had actually run away for real earlier when the bulky humanoid demon was caught in Blake’s spell and the greenish demon had deemed the bulky humanoid demon to be incapable of keeping up with Blake’s attacks anymore.
Just like the brownish demon who knew how dangerous Blake was and quickly made the decision to abandon his friends to save his life, the greenish demon also did the same.
And when the greenish demon ran away, it didn’t have any plan on doing a sneak attack on Blake when he had tried to eat the bulky humanoid demon’s soul which had ultimately caused the greenish demon one of the worst kinds of suffering before dying.
However, there was a reason why the greenish demon had done all that despite not having any prior plans to do it.
As Blake was just starting to get out of his stupor from the taste of the greenish demon’s soul, his consciousness was suddenly jolted awake as he felt nether gathering again in his surroundings.
But Blake was almost frozen in place when he felt the nether gathering around him as it was the most ever amount of nether that he ever felt gathering in a single place, even more than the myriad of darkness tendrils spell.
And different from the myriad of darkness tendrils spell that gathered nether in one spot before manifesting, the abundant nether that Blake felt had actually come from literally all directions around him, seemingly not even giving him any space to get away.
The reason why the greenish demon came back despite wanting to run away as fast as it could, was none other than the fact that it heard the signal saying that the 19 other humanoid demons were already very close to catching up.
