Chapter 165 - Fading
As the scene changed, she was transported to another era. Zhenyi looked around to find that it was the same house again and the more she looked at it, the more she realized that there were few differences from before but still it was the same. Today, it seemed there was an occasion here as the whole mansion was beautifully decorated.
Again she headed to the main hall of the mansion and this time she seemed to have remembered the way. It was not like she could leave this place and return to her home, but still, she was more than necessarily curious about whatever was happening with her. She didn\'t believe in miracles but now that she was stuck here why not clearly see what it was and why she was here? Who knew perhaps Almighty God was showing her something but it was her ignorance and arrogance that she couldn\'t just see it.
While descending the stairs again, she heard someone chanting \'Happy Birthday…Happy Birthday...Happy Birthday...\' It seemed someone was celebrating a birthday party here, but the main question was whose? There must be a reason why she was transported to this bizarre world and she was watching these unknown yet familiar people. The only reason why Zhenyi was not freaking out like before was that because she had accepted this bizarre phenomenon of whatever it was called. She believed there was more to it than that met her eyes and she just needed to find it so that she could return home. On top of everything, who are these people and why was she seeing them?
She reached the hall and saw a few people gathered in a circle. Thus, she walked into the crowd and when reached the end of the crowd, she saw it was certainly a birthday occasion and even though the whole mansion was decorated as if they were celebrating a royal occasion, still there were not more than twenty people.
And not so surprisingly, the birthday was of a girl and that girl was no one else but the one she saw a few minutes away. Though it was the same little girl here she looked a little different. Bit grown up to be exact, but she still had that infectious smile on her face, as if she was just going to conquer the world with her smile and she had no words to describe her eyes, they were like two crescents glowing under the white moonlight.
Out of all the people in the crowd, she could solely see her face clearly and the rest were just blurred and cloudy figures. Either her vision was fogging or their faces were intentionally blurred. Just as she was about to reach the girl, the other party glanced in her direction, and again her smile vanished as her eyes settled on her. She held her mom and dad tightly as if she feared that Zhenyi might take them away from her.
On the other hand, Zhenyi couldn\'t get why she disliked her so much, was it her choice that she was stuck here? No, it certainly was not. She was such a cute and cheerful kid but why was she so mean whenever she looked at her?
It was really frustrating for her…
And she needed to find a solution to this soon...
"Who are you?" Zhenyi couldn\'t help but question her. She needed to know who these people were, or else who would she know that why she was stuck here? Moreover, the girl had animosity towards her, else why would she behave like the way she did?
The girl glared at her fiercely and with a hmmph! she turned her head and gave a sweet smile to the same boy from earlier who was feeding her strawberries.
"Big brother" That was how she was calling him and the other party seemed to love it. Zhenyi inwardly rolled her eyes. \'You can have your brother to yourself, kid. I have got the best one in the world.\'
The girl\'s mother and father were showering her with all the love in the world and Zhenyi didn\'t know why but she felt a pang of hurt in her chest as she stared at them. It was something between envy and longing.
She was looking at Zhenyi arrogantly but didn\'t speak. As if her father could sense her looking at someone, he turned around to look at Zhenyi, his face was not so blurred now and before she could recognize him, the scene changed it.

Smoke.
That was what Zhenyi could see and feel. She coughed hard and choked a few times before opening her eyes. Barely as she opened her eyes, her vision was welcomed by pink-colored smoke. In reality, it was not smoke but something else.
Zhenyi turned around as she heard happy shouts and cheers. She saw the same family of four again but now there were two more people, they seemed a little elderly but still, she couldn\'t see their faces clearly. She assumed that these two were the elders of the family.
"Oh my God!" The elderly woman exclaimed and kept her hands on her face in awe and excitement. " We are having another baby girl in the family."
A few more cheers accompanied by exclamations!
"Yaay!" The boy cried out as he picked up his little sister in the air. She giggled and laughed in joy.
Zhenyi couldn\'t understand why she couldn\'t seem to dislike the girl. She was the embodiment of what she wanted to be: carefree, happy, and contented. She was not ashamed to admit that she was envious of a little girl. Although she was mean to her, still she couldn\'t help but like her even more.
"Yaay! I will have a small sister," she singsonged. More giggles and laughter.
It appeared that her mother was pregnant and obviously from their attitudes, Zhenyi could tell they were more than just happy. The baby\'s father picked his wife in his arms in a bridal style and twirled around in joy. Naked happiness was visible in his eyes. The woman in his arms was laughing along with everyone else. It was such a beautiful picture that no matter what she couldn\'t turn her eyes away from the scene.
A pang of hurt turned on in her chest. She pressed her chest with her hands but no matter how much she tried, she just couldn\'t stop it. It was hurting so much that she fell on the ground with a thud, but still, she couldn\'t remove her hands from her chest. It felt like something was piercing inside her chest, as she was looking at them. She closed her eyes in utter pain and moaned out loud when she couldn\'t bear it. Tears were streaming down her eyes as if she was in great discomfort. She had never felt like this before. It was as if she was dying. Her body started fading slowly and slowly...
"Ah!" She cried out in pain as she rolled on the ground.
Hearing her cry, the girl who seemed to have grown even more than before looked at her with naked hate and started coming towards her, a glare still intact on her face.
"Princess, where are you going?" Her father asked her as he saw his daughter stomping angrily.
"Dada, she will take our baby away from us." She pointed towards Zhenyi and started sobbing. "Make her go away, she will take our baby away from us."
The man turned where his daughter was pointing out but he didn\'t find anyone there and furrowed his brows in confusion. "Who, baby? There is no one else there."
"What happened to my Angel?" Her mom asked her as she wiped her tears gently. "Mama, won\'t allow any of them to take our baby away from us." She touched her baby bump and made her touch it too and said," See, as long as the baby is here, she is protected. No one will harm the baby. Shh, my angel."
Zhenyi, who was being accused, didn\'t know why the girl was saying so. Why would she take their unborn baby away from them? She didn\'t even know them? Her heart was still aching as if she was just experiencing a cardiac arrest.
Zhenyi\'s gaze fell on her feet, her eyes widened in shock, she was fading little by little...
