Chapter 178
“So are you saying you won’t give me the weapon? I already know that you are bound by an oath to give it to whoever passes all your tests. Don’t try to get out of that now, okay.”
Dyana found herself completely stunned. How did this mortal know about the oath!? And how did he even find this place!? She made it clear while creating the castle that only those who are of righteous mind and body could pass it! It is impossible for a man like him to have passed!
“There was someone else here with you, right? There has to be someone else that actually passed my tests! What happened to him!? Did you kill him?”
Dyana was looking around while trying to find the corpse of the real person that passed, she couldn’t believe that it was someone like Han that would pass her tests! But she wasn’t going to find anything. You see, in all things, you can always find a loophole. Dyana’s condition for someone to be able to get here was righteousness. But Han was not righteous in the slightest. Instead, Han was just stronger than the condition! There was no overly complex algorithm or some sort of nonsense use of a back door! Han was just too powerful for the condition to have even the slightest chance to stop him! And besides, Han is a righteous pervert. That has to count for something!
Dyana sighed when she realized she wouldn’t be finding anyone else. She already carried out a scan of the room and he really was the only person here. How is it possible that this man was the only person to pass her test in the past century!?
But an oath was an oath. Dyana had to give him the weapon no matter what.
“Fine then, mortal. I won’t forget this insult, but I gave my word when building this room, so I will bestow upon you the weapon of light”
A bright light suddenly shone through the room and Han watched as it suddenly began to form into a sword. The sword had a gold hilt and a silver pommel. The main blade was sheathed into a black sheath, but Han already knew that if he were to draw that blade, it would be a silver one.
Dyana had a proud expression on her face as she watched the blank look come over Han’s features. Yes, this is the power of the one you dared to talk back to. Look at it and despair in your mistake!
Han walked up to the sword and touched it slightly and the sword suddenly came to life and spoke!
[It isn’t every day that I’m woken from my slumber to be touched by a mortal. You… What is your name?]
Han deadpanned and looked from the sword to the Celestial and then back again. A talking sword? Did they not have any sense of originality at all!?
“Just give it your name so it will bond with you. I know you are stunned, but it is really just a small power from a Celestial like myself. You are not allowed to be too afraid to speak now, okay?”
Dyana was literally gloating now as Han grabbed the sword from the air with a blank look. He drew the sword and he heard it ask him his name once more. Han opened his mouth and Dyana watched as she thought he was about to give it his name, but the words to come out his mouth shocked her!!
[Wait! What are you doing!?]
“Ha!”
Slam!
Crack!
Dyana’s eyes widened as Han grabbed the sword and slammed it right over his knee! It cracked straight in two and fell to the floor like trash. Her mouth opened in shock and she let her hands fall to her sides. What did this mortal just do!?
“What did you just do you monkey!!? How dare you!!!!? This is a hundred-year-old relic that probably existed before you were even born!”
Han tuned the screaming woman out while bending down to pick up the two halves of the sword. He didn’t like that fucking voice that was inside the sword, it was an annoying presence that would only lead to issues down the road. Yuuma already told him that the sword itself wasn’t even meant to be a sword. This weapon was the sort that molded itself to anything that would fit its wielder best.
So Han killed the soul inside the sword to make the weapon more useful. The voice was actually just a parasite that would try to steal as many stat points from you to make itself grow stronger and stronger. Once it had enough points, it would start becoming too strong for you to wield properly. It would only want more power after taking everything from you and so it would go to another wielder. Han clipped that at the bud before it could even start!
[Devour] has been activated
[Host has gained the skill – [Unparalled Growth] – Max – Your stat limit has been increased to infinity]
[Would host like to [Devour] the sword?]
Han declined the request quickly before his system went all the way. He only needed the ability of that soul. What he just did was devour the soul inside the sword. Han didn’t need any remnants of it messing up the weapon. The sword itself still had its attribute of [Eternal Companion] embedded in it. This means that it would adjust itself to fit the strength requirements of any of its wielders forever. It was the perfect sort of weapon for what Han wanted to do.
Han smiled and then waved to the Celestial as he started walking out.
“Where do you think you’re going!? Get back here!!”
Han sighed as he turned back around and faced the woman. She looked like she was constipated with how much of a pout she had. It was kind of cute, in an – I’ll kill you with a spoon – kind of way. She pointed a shaky finger at Han and he pointed to himself too.
“Me? What did I do?”
“Y-You fiend! You monster! I’ll report this! I won’t let this go no matter what! Just because I can’t touch you over this projection doesn’t mean you can just do whatever you want!”
Dyana was going to find out who told this man that he was safe from her projection and slap that person! How can they ruin her entire reward ceremony like this!? And he even broke her sword! It took her ten years to find that soul and put it inside the sword! It was supposed to be a life companion, but this man just destroyed it!
“How are you even strong enough to break that sword! Not even the strongest gold Stars can break it!”
“Oh, I’m not a gold Star. I’m a white Star”
The woman paused and she had to look down at his hand to confirm. White Star? No wonder he was able to break it! But what is a white Star doing here!? Isn’t he meant to be in the higher floors trying to get past the death traps that the stronger Celestials put there?
“If you are a white Star then why are you even here? These floors are meant for silver and gold Stars! Not white Stars!”
Han hummed. It seemed she knew a lot about his white Star. At least she won’t be like those other idiots that thought you were weak once you didn’t have a colored Star. Han didn’t even know why those idiots all thought like that. But did he care? Hell naw!
“Let’s just say I’m on vacation. I don’t think there is any rule against staying in the lower floors even if you’re this strong”
Dyana felt her eyes tearing up! There might not be a rule against it, but it was an unspoken rule that they should be keeping too! The white Stars and black Stars were too strong for the lower floors! Her precious test was destroyed because of this overpowered bastard!!
Han saw that she was about to cry and he chuckled slightly. Yuuma did warn him that Dyana was the sort of person that cried whenever she didn’t get her way. He expected something like this to happen, but he didn’t think it would be so… Cute! She looked like a hamster!
“You’ll regret this! I’ll wait for you on a higher floor and I’ll surely make you regret this!”
Han smiled as he waved goodbye. He hoped they would meet again. She seemed like the sort of person that would get on well with Rina. They were both so cute!
“Just wait for me to find you on the fiftieth floor, that’s where I’ll look for you! And when I find you, I’ll make sure you regret this!”
Yeah, yeah, I heard you the first three times. Han chuckled while walking out and he could feel Dyana become even angrier. Seriously. Some levels of cuteness should be illegal.. He already had plans to go to the fiftieth floor anyways, so it wouldn’t be too long before he met her again. Maybe she would be willing to tell him more about the celestial plane if he asked nicely?
