"Yes, we are meeting for the first time. I am Rabin Gatr. It is nice to meet you. I know you cause you are so famous."
"Are you from Gatr family?", asked Axel.
"Yes, that would be me. I could not find any seats here. If you don't mind, can we share a seat?", asked Rabin.
"Yes, please. Welcome.", invited Axel.
They started to talk about small things like why Axel was in the Johto region. Axel also asked about the Gatr family and he came to know that Gatr family was the most powerful family among the starter families in the Johto region. They had a huge amount of influence in the Johto region.
After talking for some time, Axel told him that he was looking for a waterstone.
"What quality of water stone are you looking for?", asked Rabin.
"The highest quality.", said Axel.
"I can give you the highest quality water stone for free.", said Rabin.
"I know that it would not be free. What do I have to do for it?", asked Axel.
"I do have a job for you. If you could participate in it, the water stone is yours.", said Rabin.
Axel knew that getting the highest quality water stone would be very difficult in the Johto region. Axel had just landed in the Johto region and he was not familiar with it. So, he knew that Rabin was his best bet on getting one.
"Normally, we have a competition with 3 starter families every 2 years. The winning family would get a lot of rewards from the league and also from other families.
Normally, only the members of the families would compete but this time the stakes are very high. So we had some disputes and we came to the conclusion that in this battle we could also employ an outsider who is not less than 18 years old.
You fit that category. So, I would like to invite you to this competition."
Axel thought for some time. Frankly, he didn't care about the starter families of the Johto region but if he participated in this event, he would have a good relationship with the Gatr family and he had a Totodile.
"I can participate in the event but you guys would be earning a lot from this event. A water stone would not suffice.", said Axel.
Rabin realized that Axel was not a normal kid. So he canceled out his goody shoes act and asked, "What do you want?"
"I want the training plans of Totodile line. The training plans should be for your family. I would also assure you that I would not share this with anyone else."
"Axel, this is not something that I could decide myself. You know that these training plans are very close to our hearts."
"I can assume that. Why don't we go to the Gatr family and talk with the one who can decide that?", asked Axel.
"We can do that. We can go to my family premises after we finish our lunch.", said Rabin with a smile. He was happy with this.
He had seen the league battle of the Kanto region and he had also seen Axel's battle. If Axel were to participate in that battle, Gatr family was sure to win.
Rabin started to tell about the battle and how it would go.
The battle between the families will be a single battle and each family would choose 2 trainers who were up to 18 years old. The final battle would be 3 Pokemon battle and the winning family would get all of the rewards.
Axel listened to all the battle rules and when it would held. It was going to be held after 3 days. He was okay with it.
After taking the lunch, they went to the Gatr family premises. It was a very big place. The Gatr family headquarters was in cherrygrove city. So, it was easy to reach here in an hour.
The guard saw Rabin and they let them enter the premises. Axel automatically started to compare Gatr family and Venu family premises. After looking around, he realized that Gatr family premises were bigger than Venu family premises if the Venu family forest was not included. If the forest was included then, Venu family premises were vastly larger than Gatr family.
For some reason, he felt a bit proud about it. Rabin took him to the big hall meeting room and there was a middle-aged man with brown colored spiky hair and a tall stature. This man was Ronny and he was the leader of the Gatr family. He was also the father of Rabin.
"Father, I have brought our second candidate. You must already know him.", said Rabin and introduced him to his father.
Ronny was a lively person. He stood from his chair and gave a bear hug to Axel. He then invited Axel inside. He didn't chit-chat any longer and directly asked the question.
"So, my son tells me that you want the training plans of Totodile line for participating in this battle. You should know that these training plans have been experimented with and hand crafted by my family. So, it is a big ask.", said Ronny.
"Yes, I know it is but I also know that you are going to earn a lot if you win this battle of families. I also don't think that you would have any other valuable thing to give me.", said Axel.
"Hmmm... okay, I will give you training plans of Totodile but you would have to win the battle. You will get the water stone for just participating but to get those training plans, you would have to win it.", said Ronny.
"I think that it is a fair deal. I accept your proposal.", said Axel.
Ronny had a good impression of Axel after he accepted the proposal. Axel was not someone diplomatic. He was straight and he was a man of his word. Ronny thought to have a good relationship with Axel cause he knew that Axel would be an influential person in the future.
"Good. You can stay in our family premises till the battle ends. The battle would take 2 days to complete.", said Ronny.
Axel accepted the offer. He wanted to see how this family worked. He also wanted to see how they trained. This was a perfect time to do that. There were also many training grounds in the family premises and he could use any of them for free.

At the dinner conversation,
"Guys, those who are in tier 1 should start to train hard to reach tier 2. I know that I would take some time but you must carry on.
Tauros, Absol and Gyarados. All 3 of you should be in the training ground tomorrow at 5 am. I will be getting serious in your training from now on. We are training a lot but I think I have a plan to make it even better.", said Axel.
He started to discuss the training plans with other Pokemons. Togepi especially wanted to learn new moves but Axel denied it. It had just started to train for a week and it had not mastered any of these moves to level 40. He said to all of them that they needed to reach level 40 in one of the moves if they wanted to learn a new move.
The dinner conversation was getting fruitful and very productive. Axel hypothetically patted his back for thinking about it. He also asked Oak about the balls but Oak replied that it would take some time as it was very difficult to make 5 of them.

Next day,
Tauros, Absol, Gyarados and Pidgeot had trained a lot. Gyarados was now in the process of ranking up to king rank but Axel knew that it would take a lot of time to do it.

There were a lot of changes in Tauros's stats. Its ability 'Intimidate' was now at 100% and it now needed to be mastered. Its attack and Agility were now in S rank. Tauros would still need some time to reach king rank but as per Axel's estimation, it could rank up to king rank within a year.
Now, coming to the moves, it had hardly learned any new moves. It had only learned 3 moves and one of them was a new move. Most of its moves have leveled up and some of them have even crossed the threshold.

Earthquake (Tauros) (Level 40): The power of the attack could be concentrated in a single place.
(Level 45): The power of the attack could be increased by a bit when Tauros starts to step on the ground while running.
Wild charge (Tauros) (Level 40): Tauros is now covered with an electric aura and most of its aura is concentrated at its feet which increases the speed and the power of the attack.
Hyper beam (Tauros) (Level 40): Tauros needs very little time to charge the attack.
Bide (Tauros) (Level 40): The defense of the Tauros is heightened when storing energy.
(Level 45): Tauros could take 3 attacks and store them instead of 2 and deal a powerful blow
(Level 50): Tauros would deal 1.5 times the damage received.
(Level 55): Tauros can recover 20% of the damage done to the opponent.
(Level 60): Tauros can recover 30% of the damage done to the opponent.
Iron tail (Tauros) (Level 40): The tails would have more piercing effect and it more powerful.
(Level 45): 3 tails could attack in 3 different directions or in a single direction.
(Level 50): There would be small mini blades on the tail which would increase the attack power of the move and also bleed the Pokemon.

Tauros had really concentrated on 'Bide'. It had become very powerful now since it was level 60. The move could now recover some health of Tauros. 'Iron tail' had become very deadly and most of its charge-type attack have become very powerful.
Finally, he looked at the new move that it had just learned.

Ultimate Thrash: This is the ultimate charge attack that would combine the experience of all the charge attacks. As of right now, it gets experience from
1. Horn attack
2. Grind
3. Smart attack
4. Thrash
5. Wild charge
6. Raging bull
7. Close combat
As of right now, it can only use the move 1 time and have to rest for a day to recover. It can only use the move a second time after it has recovered.

This was going to be the ultimate move for Tauros. If Tauros could capitalize on it and level it up to at least 60, then it would be very powerful.
Tuaros now had 2 things to do. The first was to level up 'Smart strike' to level 40. Leveling it up would also increase the power of 'Ultimate thrash' as the move would get a boost in experience.
The Second was to level up 'Stone edge' to level 40. Axel also wanted 'Bide' and 'Stone edge' to be included in 'Ultimate Thrash' but that would be for another day.
