Chapter 290: 176: “Holy Radiance Kingdom” and “Divine Kingdom on Earth” (Asking for Subscription) _2
This could no longer be considered probing; it was overtly blunt.
If the clergyman before him were a normal person, he certainly wouldn’t just be responding with a faint smile.
But when Milton Cheney asked a question even a fool could answer, the clergyman before him didn’t react at all.
Still just smiling faintly at him, but not answering the question.
“Reverend?”
Milton Cheney enquired softly.
“Milton, your heart is no longer sincere, you lack true devotion to the Holy
Radiance Church, you lost your chance to become a believer.”
“Leave this place.”
The old man spoke.
“So it really was pre-set?”
“So does this mean that I triggered these words from the clergyman because I did not pray sincerely in the church before?” Milton Cheney’s thoughts were in a whirl.
It was too bizarre.
All the worlds he had experienced in his previous reincarnations were normal worlds.
But the world he was reincarnated into this time seemed rather abnormal.
From Milton Cheney’s perspective, this world was just like a game world.
And the old man before him was like an NPC pre-set in the game world.
Milton Cheney tentatively asked a few more questions, and finally came to a conclusion.
That is, the old man before him would only utter a few phrases back and forth, like a pre-set robot.
Milton Cheney finally left the church.
He was eager to know what the hell was going on in this world. He longed to know whether the world he now inhabited was a real one.
“Da Vinci, I appreciate your help.”
Milton Cheney got into Da Vinci’s carriage and said.
However, the Da Vinci he addressed did not respond.
But Milton Cheney was already used to it.
Months had passed, and Milton Cheney had come to realize that this world was indeed a ‘game world’.
Besides him, everyone else in this world was an ‘NPC, with no one he could have a real conversation with apart from the clergyman.
After sitting in the carriage for a while, the carriage did not move.
Knowing it would be useless to ask Da Vinci, Milton Cheney could only wait in the carriage.
A moment later, a blond young man entered the carriage.
The blond young man glanced at Milton Cheney and said nothing.
Milton Cheney did not initiate a conversation either.
He really had no desire to interact with these NPCs.
The moment the blond young man got into the carriage, Da Vinci flicked the whip, and the carriage began to move.
Milton Cheney sat inside, closing his eyes to rest and contemplate what he should do after reincarnating into this world.
Truthfully, Milton Cheney had many speculative thoughts about what this world might be like before his reincarnation.
But he never expected it to be a ‘game world’.
Seeing Milton Cheney closing his eyes engrossed in some thoughts, the blonde young man, Connor, creased his brows slightly.
“Fire Stealer?”
Suddenly, a voice echoed in Milton Cheney’s ears.
Milton Cheney’s eyelids twitched as he suddenly opened his eyes.
His gaze landed on the blond young man before him.
If his hearing wasn’t impaired, then the young man before him must have initiated a conversation with him.
“Are you really a Fire Stealer?”
“Which Divine System do you belong to? How did you enter the Holy Radiance Divine Kingdom?”
Connor asked with a furrowed brow.
As Connor finished speaking, Milton Cheney felt a bit puzzled but he kept calm.
Fire Stealer?
Holy Radiance Divine Kingdom?
What was all this nonsense?
The young man before him didn’t seem like an NPC.
And the world he was in didn’t seem like a game world but a Divine Kingdom?
That was what Milton Cheney deduced from the young man’s words.
A myriad of thoughts instantaneously overwhelmed Milton Cheney.
These notions overturned his previous speculation that this world was a game world.
“You seem to know nothing?”
“You should at least know which Divine System you belong to, right? I can confirm that you are not a part of the Holy Radiance Divine System.”
Connor spoke.
However, seeing that Milton Cheney still had no intention of replying, Connor looked somewhat puzzled.
“Do you have a memory problem?”
Hearing these words, Milton Cheney nodded.
It seemed to be the first time Connor had encountered such a situation. He ruffled his blonde hair and asked, “Do you know where this place is?” “The Holy Radiance Divine Kingdom?”
Milton Cheney responded uncertainly.
Connor nodded and then shook his head.
“If you are not the Fire Stealer, then how did you appear here?”
Connor asked again.
Milton Cheney shook his head.
Was he supposed to mention that he had reincarnated from the Wizard Realm?
He doubted the young man in front of him even knew what the Wizard Realm was.
“You don’t belong to any Divine System?”
As if suddenly recalling something, Connor’s eyes lit up as he spoke.
“What’s a Divine System? And what’s a Divine Kingdom?”
Milton Cheney asked.
Having finally encountered a person who wasn’t an ‘NPC’, he surely couldn’t let the opportunity slip.
If he could fully understand this world, then even if the Reincarnation Simulation ended right away, it wouldn’t be a loss.
However, if the Reincarnation Simulation ended while he was still completely unfamiliar with this world, that would truly be wasting a Reincarnation opportunity.
Upon hearing this, Connor’s eyes shone even brighter.
He hadn’t expected that during his visit back to the Holy Radiance Divine Kingdom, he would encounter a hatchling.
If he could entice the hatchling to follow him, wouldn’t that mean a potential True God might emerge within the Holy Radiance Divine System?
What a considerable merit that would be!
Connor slowly exhaled a deep breath.
The way he looked at Milton had changed, a fervor now apparent in his eyes.
It was as if he was looking at a priceless treasure.
“A Divine System is a faction of True Gods, and a Divine Kingdom is a True God’s territory.”
“I am a third-class believer of the Holy Radiance, the Divine System God of
Holy Radiance, and current here is the Third Divine Kingdom of the Holy
Radiance.”
Connor explained. “So, this place isn’t the real world?”
Milton replied.
“The real world?”
Connor slightly frowned, unable to comprehend the meaning of Milton’s words.
“I don’t understand what you mean. This certainly is the real world. Otherwise, how could we communicate?”
Connor said.
Realising that Connor didn’t understand him, Milton tried to explain differently:
“When I spoke about the real world, I was referring to the world where the True
Gods reside.”
“The world where the True Gods reside?”
“The True Gods live in the same world as us, what are you talking about?”
Now even more confused, Connor felt as though he couldn’t keep up with Milton’s line of thinking.
“Aren’t we currently within the Divine Kingdom of a True God?” “Isn’t the Divine Kingdom of a True God within the body of a True God?”
Milton was confounding things.
He felt that he and Connor weren’t on the same wavelength.
“Inside the body of a True God?”
Connor was stumped.
“Who told you that the Divine Kingdom of a True God is inside the body of a True God?”
“The Divine Kingdom of a True God is an independent land-based kingdom and the True God’s territory. How could it be inside the True God’s body?” As soon as Connor finished speaking, Milton immediately understood.
He had been overthinking.
He had always thought that the Divine Kingdom of a True God was within the body of the True God.
He blamed the novels of his previous life for misleading him. “What did you mean earlier by Fire Stealer?”
Milton, realizing his misunderstanding, switched topics and asked.
“A type of special believer, they have the capacity to pilfer beliefs.”
“Why do all the people here…”
What Milton really wanted to ask was why everyone acted like robots, but he didn’t know how to phrase it.
However, Connor seemed to understand Milton’s intent.
After hearing Milton’s question, he responded:
“You’re asking why the people in the Divine Kingdom don’t seem like normal human beings?”
Milton nodded.
“That’s because they are all first-class believers, they are devoid of thought.” Connor explained.
These first-class believers were believers used as tools to provide beliefs; they didn’t have the ability to think.
Hence, they were naturally incapable of communication or interaction.
“What about the clergyman from the Holy Radiance Church, is he also a first-class believer?”
Milton asked.
“He is a second-class believer, possessing some basic cognitive abilities and can carry out simple orders.” Connor clarified.
“How does one become a True God?” Milton inquired once again.
The question left Connor silent.
Could the question possibly have a broader scope? “Firstly, you must not belong to any Divine System.” “Which means, you could potentially become a True God.”
After a moment of silence, Connor responded.
However, he still concealed some information.
