Chapter 289: 176: “Holy Radiance Kingdom” and “Divine Kingdom on Earth” (Asking for Subscription)
A ray of light carried Milton Cheney’s consciousness towards a pitch-black world.
None noticed its existence.
Unaware of how long had passed it might’ve been a year, or perhaps countless years.
In the Holy Radiance Kingdom, within the Holy Radiance Church.
Milton Cheney, who had been praying, opened his eyes, his hazy vision becoming clear.
The memories in his mind were slowly digested by Milton, helping him understand his current identity and situation.
The mystery of birth was finally broken!
Milton subconsciously glanced at his surroundings.
At this moment, he was kneeling in a tremendously big church.
There were countless people of his age around him.
Everyone had their eyes closed whilst praying, making Milton, who was observing his surroundings, stand out.
“Focus on your prayers, do not let your mind wander.” A voice reached Milton’s ears.
Milton shifted his gaze towards the source of the voice.
An old man was smiling at him, the voice came from him.
However, it seemed that only Milton could hear it, as none of the other praying individuals were affected by the voice.
Milton ceased his observation of the surroundings, closed his eyes once again and began to pray, guided by the memories in his mind.
Time passed. The church was silent, save for the sounds of breathing and prayer.
Eventually, after a moment, the bell rang. Everyone opened their eyes and stopped their prayers.
The people around Milton, just like robots, left the church in perfect unison.
Milton too, acted just like them, his face expressionless, preparing to leave the church.
Although he had integrated eight years of this world’s memories, he knew almost nothing about this world.
The memory of his birth had become hazy and unclear, the only recollection he had was praying here day after day for several years.
“Cheney, you stay.”
Just as Milton was preparing to leave the church, a voice reached his ears.
Milton subconsciously stopped on his tracks.
It didn’t seem like the people around him noticed the commotion, they continued to orderly exit the church.
“Reverend.”
Milton looked at the old man and spoke respectfully.
In his memories, the most respected figure in the entire church was undoubtedly the old man in front of him.
The clergyman of the Holy Radiance Church.
“Cheney, your heart is no longer sincere, incapable of being truly devoted to the Holy Radiance Church, you’ve lost the hope of becoming a believer.”
“Leave this place.”
The old man spoke.
Upon hearing his words, Milton felt a jolt in his heart.
The old man’s words gave Milton an unconscious feeling that something unusual about him had been discovered.
However, thinking about the notes during the simulator upgrade, Milton calmed down.
“Reverend, I…”
Milton began to speak, but was interrupted by the old man.
“Leave this place. You’ve lost the hope of becoming a believer.”
“You can go to the northern part of the Holy Radiance Kingdom. Becoming a mercenary might be a good choice.”
Hearing this, Milton didn’t say anything more, but just nodded to show he understood.
He had a strange feeling in his heart.
It was as if the old man before him didn’t feel like a person, but rather more like a robot.
This might be difficult to understand.
But this old man in front of Milton felt like an NPC in the online games of his previous life.
“Reverend, how can I go to the northern part of the Holy Radiance Kingdom?” Milton asked.
Keep in mind that he was only eight years old, and he had stayed in the Holy Radiance Church since his birth without ever leaving.
Telling him to head north towards the Holy Radiance Kingdom all by himself was nothing short of a wild dream.
Milton not only lacked an understanding of this world.
His understanding of the Holy Radiance Kingdom, where he was currently located, didn’t extend beyond this tiny part called the Holy Radiance Church.
Hearing Milton’s question, the old man’s face remained unchanged, his smile remaining.
It was as though this was his only expression.
“You can find Da Vinci, he can lead you to the northern part of the Holy Radiance Kingdom.”
The old man spoke.
Milton felt increasingly strange.
He felt that these words of the elderly man seemed to be pre-set.
Therefore, Milton tentatively asked, “Reverend, is there anything I can help you with?”
The moment his words fell, the old man’s face didn’t change.
After a moment, the old man spoke, “You are not a believer, so you can’t help me.”
“Reverend, even though I’m not a believer, I might still be able to help you with some matters.”
Milton asked again.
He was asking this way in order to verify some suspicions he had.
“You are not a believer, so you can’t help me.” Upon hearing this, Milton fell silent.
“Could it be, a real NPC?”
“Is this a game world?”
Several thoughts rushed through Milton’s mind.
A normal person certainly wouldn’t have this kind of reaction facing Milton’s questions.
It felt completely like a preset dialogue.
It was even like a low-intelligence NPC.
Milton had some conjectures, but he couldn’t be completely certain.
After all, the representation of this world in the Reincarnation Space was a black light cluster that was ten times larger than the Wizard Realm.
A game world, could that be possible?
However, it might also be possible that this world had gone beyond what Milton was able to comprehend.
“Reverend, if someone has two Snake Fruits, and he gives his friend one, how
many does he have now?”
