Chapter 219 - 219 Ch. 219 The New Boy
On the other hand, Richard sat on an extended bench not far from the playing area so he could watch his wife, who was accompanying the four small kids.
Today’s event should have been a time together with his wife and daughter. Why now did he feel he was becoming a daycare with the presence of three ‘bugs’?
Jackson’s parents let their son play with Lori and others while the parents had a date by the lake. Likewise, Cliver came alone accompanied by a family driver, so automatically, Cliver was also entrusted to him.
As for Louis… He knew both of the children’s parents very well and knew that they loved exploring the world more than playing with their son. It doesn’t seem that Louis minds being left alone at home with the housemaids.
But… the boy became very quiet and wouldn’t make a sound if no one spoke to him. But only when he’s with Lori does the boy utter more than a word.
Usually, Louis would only give a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer when faced with a question—or simply offered a polite smile if the boy was not interested in responding to the other person.
“Mommy! Check it out! I found a crab cub!” Lori showed her mother the tiny crab walking on her palms.
Anxia ruffled her daughter’s hair happily and let Lori show off the crab to her friends.
.....
Seeing the broad smile and endless cheerfulness of his wife and son, Richard also commented a smile. Well, even though the arrival of three bugs ruined the casual gathering with his family, he could still see the two women he loved the most cheering.
“Dad! Dad!”
Richard’s smile widened when he saw his dearest princess running towards him. But his smile vanished when he heard his daughter’s next request.
“Daddy, my friends and I are thirsty. Can we have ice cream? Buy us ice cream, okay? Please?”
Of course, he would buy ice cream for his daughter, and he would even buy all the ice cream in the world just for his daughter. But… does he have to buy those three boys too?
Whoa, Richard. Why do you feel so competitive with small children? In the end, Richard agreed to his daughter’s request and told Lori to go back to playing with her friends before he got up to buy the ice cream.
Anxia wanted to accompany Richard to help him carry the ice cream he would buy, but Richard told her to stay because the kids needed adult supervision.
Not to mention, Richard deliberately didn’t bring their bodyguards because he was sure that there was no threat of danger lurking, considering that people like Master Yu were no longer able to enter the European continent.
Luckily, Anxia wasn’t alone when looking after the children because a personal driver for the Cliver family sat on another bench while watching over his employer’s son. Furthermore, the three boys seemed to obey Lori and followed the girl wherever she went so Anxia didn’t feel overwhelmed watching over the four kids.
However, no one expected they would have another child—an unfamiliar, unknown boy.
“Hi ... can I play with you guys?” Miraculously, the boy didn’t ask Jackson who was standing closer to him but walked a little further to approach Lori and ask the girl.
“Of course. Come here.” As usual, the friendly Lori held the new boy’s hand to squat next to her and build a sand castle in the desert arena.
Anxia giggled as she observed the new boy. She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry seeing her precious daughter had attracted several bees... and Lori was only five. She was sure Richard would have soured even more if her husband had just seen the scene.
The only thing that bugged Anxia was that the boy wore a black mask covering half his face. Anxia watched the boy with a curious gaze. The boy’s hair was deep black, and his eyes were also ink-like black. Looking at the hair model and the shape of his eyelids, this child seemed like an eastern offspring, yet the boy was so fluent in a common language.
Feeling curious about the child who had just arrived, Anxia asked the child’s name using her mother tongue.
“Little boy, what’s your name?”
Anxia was taken aback when the boy glanced at her and fluently answered her question in the same language. “My name is Yang Guang, but I am called Elliot here. You are as beautiful as a sunflower, big miss.” The boy’s praise earned an amused giggle from Anxia.
“Thank You. But why are you covering your face?”
“Hatchiii…” at once, Elliot sneezed loudly with his head up and then looked down quickly as he ended his sneeze. “I’m sorry. I have flu, so I have to wear a mask.”
Aw… not only is he good at stealing people’s hearts, but this boy is also very polite. Remarked Anxia silently.
“If you’re sick, why don’t you rest at home?” Lori asked in Anxia’s mother tongue fluently this time.
Of course, Lori was very good at speaking Chinese, considering the girl had mastered ten different languages ??fluently. Unfortunately, the girl didn’t have a formidable interlocutor because Anxia herself could only speak seven languages ??due to the demands of her master’s work.
Ever since she quit and gave birth to Lori, Anxia no longer had any interest in learning other languages ??and only taught what she could to her daughter. For the rest, Anxia lets Lori know other languages ??via the internet and watches children’s films with foreign-language dubs.
“I’m tired of being in the house. So I decided to come out and join you.”
Later, Jackson joined them and showed off his ability to speak the same language, making Cliver and Louis frown.
Only Cliver and Louis couldn’t speak their language because they didn’t have eastern blood. Cliver whined and asked Lori and Anxia to stop talking in a foreign language.
On the other hand, Louis was determined to learn the language and didn’t complain.
