Chapter 291 - 291 Message For The Tyrant.
Cupido asked, “What just happened? Why did it end so soon? This is unusual.”
Gale nodded, and Gladis followed her gesture. They could not understand what had happened in those final moments. Why was Valerian able to deal with the pressure so quickly? Then, suddenly, Arma said, “I think it could be that he deliberately let the partial soul come out. That is why the pressure reduced after the partial soul vanished.”
Sophos exhaled heavily and said, “It is the most logical conclusion. However, still, I do not know why I feel uneasy.”
Fortuna asked, “Did you not realize it?”
They all looked at her and were surprised, some of her scales were chipped, and her nose was oozing with gray blood. Sophos immediately cast a healing spell. This was his magic, and the summit was the only place to use the magic.
Cupido asked, “Your Majesty, did you use the power of your bonds to offset the pressure on him?”
Fortuna replied in a low voice, “Yes.”
Gale asked, “Does this not count as an intervention?”
.....
She was confused because if this action were to be considered an intervention, the punishment Fortuna would receive would be a bit too much for her to handle. Arma shook his head and said, “It was the power of their bond. This power is considered to be shared by the two entities.”
Gale nodded, and Sophos said, “Your Majesty, you ought to rest properly, and please do not take on the dragon god head-on like this again. It might prove deadly for you.”
Fortuna replied, “I only did what he would have done for me. From the day I cracked my shell till now, only the trial of ascension was the ritual I have been through alone. He almost lost his life to healing me. Despite his pride, Valerian never said anything to me and pampered me. It may sound odd from a dragon, but I care about him. A rope of fate connected our parents, and so were we.
Grandfather was the first one who called out my name. He is like a brother to me, and I do not mind sharing his burden as he shared mine.”
Sophos nodded and said, “Very well said, child. Your parents will be proud of you. The essence of mana is not spells or miracles. It is to connect all of us, no matter where we are, what we are.”
...
Valerian walked against the torrent prickling his skin. He did not have any energy to maintain a battle aura shield. He held his head high as he climbed the slope. The wind made it hard for him to climb, but he did not stop. He did not waver. He was slow, but he was steady. He dragged the dead princess behind him. The motive behind this was unclear to everyone.
The entire night passed, and in the last few hours, Valerian was almost on the verge of collapsing, but when the first ray of sun pierced the clouds. The young prince appeared at the summit with the sun rising behind his head.
The four dragons respected him for his hard work. Finally, Fortuna snorted and said, “Took you long enough, and what is with the battered look?”
Valerian asked, “Can we send a message to the eastern continent?”
The five dragons were all taken aback. They did not expect him to come out and say something like this. When Gale replied, “That depends on the message, ” Arma wanted to say something.”
Valerian looked at her and replied, “I want Immortuous Tyrant to have the pleasure of burying his dead. I want him to know that one day I will go there and put him to rest with his family and everyone close to him. I will erase his existence.”
The proclamation shocked the crowd. They did not expect something like this to come at them. Valerian was too indomitable. Fortuna said, “Calm down, boy. Do not start flying because you have cleared the trial and recovered your strength.”
The young man looked at her and said, “I will not head there and kill him immediately. However, he needs to know that someone is after him. He might brush it off, but I want his heart to shiver. Even if it is just for a second, he must experience the sensation of loss.”
Fortuna saw that his gaze was calm. However, she was scared of his calm rather than him being cold. She knew that he would get serious, and the quieter he was, the deeper this feeling would be etched in his heart. Valerian asked, “Tell me, would you deliver my message to him?”
Gale replied, “I will do it for you.”
Valerian looked at her, and the dragon continued, “I am not doing this for you. I need to go and check how my companion is doing. She is quite old and nearing her end.”
The young man was confused and asked, “Does that not mean you are also nearing your lifespan?”
Sophos shook his head and said, “When a human dies naturally, their soul travels back to Primus. However, when they are killed unnaturally, their souls also shatter. Dragons share the bond of the soul. As long as the soul is intact, the dragons will survive, but if the soul is damaged. The bond will break, and the dragon will die too.”
Valerian nodded in understanding and said, “Thank you for your help.”
Then he walked over and placed Leana’s corpse at the dragon’s feet. Then he stared at her beautiful face. Finally, he said, “You must admit that she must be pretty when receiving a luxurious diet.”
He concentrated some light mana on the tip of his finger. Then he caressed Leana’s forehead with his finger. Others did not understand what he was doing, but Gale could see what he was doing. The young man stopped caressing the forehead and said, “She is all yours now.”
Arma asked, “What did he right?”
Gale hesitated, and Valerian said, “You can tell them I do not mind.”
The azure dragon looked at the people and said, “She said you loved her the most. I wonder if your crimson eyes shed tears of blood. I hope you do not die from grief. Regards, son of Flos Divinus.”
The dragons realized that Valerian had just sent a warning letter to one of the most notorious people in the world. A child now challenged the emperor of the east.
...
Two days later, Gale appeared at the coast of the eastern continent. The brilliant scenery of the unshakeable landmass surrounded by boundless water was magnificent, but what stood out more was a crimson layer of mana shining around the land. This was the massive dragon barrier set by the mana input of some of the strongest dragons in the race.
The dragons would rest on the shore, and entry was prohibited. None could go in. None could come out. Tyrant Immortuous tried breaking the barrier with his dragon treasure, but the impact was nothing. The dragon treasures do not work against dragon magic.
A red dragon was resting on the shore when it sensed someone closing in on them. Looking up, he assumed the battle stance and roared. However, instead of scaring the other party away. He received a roar in reply.
A moment later, Gale appeared before him, saying, “Seems like I have been away too long for you all to recognize me. Right, Emmet?”
Emmet bowed his head and said, “Greetings, Lord Guardian.”
Gale nodded and said, “I have the decree from Her Majesty. I am going inside.”
Emmet was shocked. It has been more than a decade. Today, finally, someone was going inside. IT meant things were about to change. Gale said, “I do not have much time. Her Majesty needs me to return as quickly as possible.”
The red dragon nodded and moved sideways, respectfully opening a path for Gale. The blue dragon moved slightly and vanished from his vision. Emmet sighed and said, “Her Grace is still as fast as ever.”
When his words finished, a dust cloud rose from his side, and a roar sounded around the shore. Emmet replied to all those roars. He informed his kin that a guardian was here with a decree to enter the barrier.
...
Gale flew at her fastest speed. She did not pay any attention to the scenery. She was only going to drop the corpse at the entrance of the Imperial palace. Fortuna warned her they were not to make contact with the Tyrant or anyone else before leaving.
After an hour, Gale saw a dominating black building in her vision and mumbled, “Twisted to the core, eh.”
Then she dove closer to the ground and made a flip while flying. The body on her back was dropped at the entrance of the imperial palace. Gale flew high in the sky and said in a sonorous tone.
“Tyrant of the east, come and collect your belongings.”
Then she left the area in a blink without caring for the ruckus she raised on the ground.
