Chapter 197
On the way, Valerian did not say anything to her again, he could see the flicker of contemplation in her eyes at this moment, and this was what he wanted. The more she thought about this, the more she will see that his plan was in favor for her. They were children, Valerian was able to avenge Diligentia in the past because he held the element of surprise and his enemies were not the strong people as well.
However, if someone asked him if he would be able to kill that man in the armor. He would probably shake his head and deny it. To predict the future was too foolish, all he could do was to do his best and try to avenge his parents and he will not hesitate in seeking help from the people if needed be.
Morgana dropped him in his room and looking at the lavish decoration, she said, “They sure love you.”
Valerian nodded and said, “The Empress does, and so does my sister. What about your room? How does it look like?”
Morgana cast him a gaze and looking around she pointed at the cloaking area on the side and said, “That would be how big my room is.”
Valerian was not surprised and said, “No wonder you sleep on floor.”
Morgana did not mind his remark and nodded. Valerian asked, “What poison did they use against you?”
The girl was taken aback by the sudden question and subconsciously replied, “Shadow Viper. Why do you ask?”
.....
Valerian hummed and said, “I was thinking if you would like to go and visit the Imperial academy with me. They have a very dedicated department and their might be a cure for your condition.”
Morgana was surprised by this, she hesitated as she did not know what to say. Valerian said, “Do not think too much about it. Also, I hear that your so called younger brother is also there? Why not visit him and play a few tricks on him. Does he not like to humiliate you?”
The surprise became the shock. The princess replied, “What are you trying to get me to do? Rebel against Centaur?”
Valerian shook his head and said, “No, my dear, Morgana. I am inspiring you to rebel, against the Centurions. What is your real name?”
He looked her in the eyes when he asked this question. The girl was silent for a few minutes before she said, “Morgana Demetrus.”
Valerian nodded and said, “Glad to meet you, Miss Demetrus.”
Morgana blinked her eyes and then she raised her hands to raise the two ends of her lips, forming a smile. Valerian was surprised by her action and then said, “How come you are so childish?”
The princess opened her mouth wide and smacked his shoulder hard. Then she turned around to leave the room, when Valerian said, “Get up early tomorrow, I will take you to the academy.”
Morgana was surprised by his determination, but she was compelled by it and nodded to him. The night was a fleeting affair of time.
The next morning, Valerian had donned his uniform, the black shirt and pant with a grey tunic over his shoulders and a collar chain adorning his neck. The boy came to the dining hall with a vigor and heroic spirit that left the guards and the servants in awe. It has been a few days since they saw the prince acting like his usual.
Libra was still out and Fragrantia was playing the head of the family. Azula was also present in the place. Fortuna had woken up sometime yesterday night, and after informing him that she needed to go out and hunt, she left.
Valerian asked her to accompany, when the dragon princess said, “No, I will hunt the magic cores on my own. I cannot advance if someone spoon feeds me, also, you, get stronger.”
Those two words at the end simply made Valerian’s mind crash and enter the power monger mode. His thighs were covered with the set of daggers and a wooden long sword hung around his waist. Azula looked at him and asked, “Where are you off too?”
Valerian took his seat at the table and after greeting the two he replied, “Academy. Need to set a few things in order.”
Azula nodded and Fragrantia said, “Go, but be careful. Also, Ignis sent a message yesternight. The Valkyrians made a move, he caller you for support. Sending mages to the front is not feasible in early stages.”
Valerian nodded and said, “I will leave when I am done with things here.”
The empress nodded and said, “Do you need anything to be specially arranged for the war?”
Valerian did not have any such requirements but said, “A light armor would be nice, nothing magical or fancy. Also, a metal sword.”
Azula said, “I will take care of those, but tell me why are you wearing a wooden sword?”
Valerian rolled his eyes and said, “This is ancient pine sword, gifted by a driad, specifically made to counter magic spells.”
The two ladies were surprised and asked, “Since when did you know driads?”
Valerian thought about it and said, “A few months, nothing worth mentioning, That tree bark comes to me only when it is something passively advantageous for him. Fortuna almost could not stop herself from blowing fire on him.”
Azula thought Fortuna was a cat with the magical ability to breath fire, while Fragrantia knew what the real meaning of this sentence was and felt at ease.
Shortly after, Morgana came in the dining hall, she had a faint sign of fatigue between her brows. Evidently, she could not fall asleep early last night, after all, the things that Valerian told her were too much to ignore.
Valerian gazed at her and said, “You are late.”
Morgana snorted and sat down after greeting the two ladies. She said, “You better be careful with your mouth, I lost sleep because of your rubbish.”
The two ladies were surprised to see the princess put away her gentle and elegant demeaner. Valerian did not mind her retort and gave her a glass of juice. The people finished their meal quickly and Valerian said, “After bringing Morgana back from the academy, I will leave directly, if Fortuna finds you, do tell her about it.”
Fragrantia nodded and Valerian nodded, before he left the dining hall with Morgana. His posture was unlike Morgana has ever seen before. She was surprised but did not ask much. Valerian asked as they walked to the western gardens, “Did you not have anything more valiant in your wardrobe?”
Morgana looked at her white and blue dress and shook her head. She did not reply this guy as her head was hurting. Suddenly a loud roar attracted her attention and she was shocked to see that it was not some beast but Valerian roaring at a lion thrice his size and with a mane of fire. The beast put up an aggrieved reaction and the child patted his big head while growling for a bit before the beast cast a gaze to Morgana and left. Obviously it showed huge disdain in his eyes.
The princess was shocked and then Valerian led her over to settle on the back of Linea, it was a war capable beast, so a saddle was built for it. The air troops of the empire has adopted this method for a better positioning and controlling the situation.
Valerian asked them to make a wide seated saddle. With a quick jump he landed on the back of the beast and patted his head. Morgana followed his pace and jumped up as well. The two then quickly left the palace and the prince experienced that Linea was pushing through the skies at a higher speed. This was surprising.
As they reached farther, Valerian asked, “Do you really not plan to deal with your brother when you still have the chance?”
Morgana replied, “He is not anything to me. Why will I miss out the chance to? I will show him this time what his level is. Also, I would like to hear what were you planning when said, I should assassinate them all.”
Valerian was shocked at this over night change of her heart. He said, “Cut me some slack, okay. It was an advice, however, if you wish to do this, ask her excellency. She is a good schemer like her counterparts. Another thing is that I do not have much time at hand, those berserks have launched offensive counter against Sapientia. I need to head over and lend a hand.”
Morgana asked, “So you slaving off for them?”
