Chapter 274
“What are your plans?” Sharyn of the Deity race asked with a frown.
For a few months now, Alex has been inside this place and was yet to make a move. The elders outside were panicking. They felt Alex’s injuries were severe and he may not be able to lead them into battle again.
.....
There was no answer.
“You need to say something.... Your confrontation with Silver left everyone on edge, you can’t vanish now... You created this mess and you have to fix it...” Sharyn said.
...
Still no answer!
“What the hell? Are you crazy?” Sharyn fumed. Her long black hair and black eyes made her extremely attractive.
.....
The deity race was like humans but they were somewhat perfect. It was like Alex who practiced the technique as well, he was the definition of perfection in the minds of other humans.
Splash!
Alex emerged from the other side of the pool with a dull look on his face. A maid standing there handed over a towel which he used to wrap around his waist before walking around the eight feet long pool just to reach Sharyn.
When standing in front of her, Alex leaned forward, reaching so close to her, he could feel her breath.
“That’s not how to talk to someone who saved your life” Alex said with a slight smile.
The angry Sharyn suddenly turned red with embarrassment and almost fell over but Alex caught her by the waist, creating a romantic scene.
“W-what are you doing?”Sharyn blinked as her voice broke, like her confidence.
Hmph!
Alex sluggishly allowed her to regain her balance before letting go of her and walking away with a smile.
“This...” Sharyn hesitated before chasing after Alex.
The two entered a long hallway and when she finally caught up, she held Alex by his hand and pulled him back, blocking his way.
“You can’t continue like this! You need to act fast!” Sharyn said with a cute expression on her face.
“Why do you care so much? Have you forgotten, I am the enemy?” Alex asked with a raised eyebrow.
“And I swore allegiance to the man who saved my life... from now on I will serve you till death... We deities have a code we live by!” Sharyn pouted and Alex sighed.
“You have told me this over and over again... I already told you I don’t need your loyalty, all I need is the secret to improving my golden statue technique... I can’t grow any further... the same with my Demon-kin technique... after that, will have them give you a battleship and you can return to the alliance or wherever you want to go” Alex said dryly as he walked past her but she ran past him and blocked his way again.
“I don’t care whether you want me to come here or not but since I already swore allegiance I will be by your side until death!” Sharyn said with fierce determination on her face which shocked Alex slightly.
Seeing the strange look on Alex’s face, a strange thought raced into her mind and her face turned red with embarrassment she quickly turned around to hide her red face. Seeing this, Alex found it cute and smiled.
“If you wish to follow me that badly, then come along. You don’t have to say such touching words” Alex joked as he patted her head and walked past her.
................
Bang!
The meeting room of the council swung open and Damon walked in with Sharyn following him shyly. In the room were the twelve elders, all members of the culture, Damon Briggs, Cherry, and Mr. Blade.
Alex casually picked a seat before offering Sharyn the one beside him which shocked not only her but everyone else. They could understand the lady was serving Alex now but that wasn’t enough reason for him to bring her here, talk more of offering her a seat and practically allowing her to participate in the meeting.
Has he forgotten that she was once an enemy?
“She’s my guest, She has more experience with these things, especially since she has been with the alliance for a while and was in a relatively important position back then. Her insight will be needed and her opinions will be considered” Alex said with an emotionless face as he sat down slowly.
When explaining he didn’t even bother looking anyone in the face. It felt like the explanations were just courtesy, in reality, he was indirectly asking them not to question him.
“Have you considered the possibility that she may still be in contact with the enemy? Our plans may be revealed! This is not a gamble we should take!” Damon Briggs said with a frown, causing Alex to turn his attention to his brother with his frosty gaze.
“She’s my guest. She has more experience with these things, especially since she has been with the alliance for a while and was in a relatively important position back then. Her insight will be needed and her opinions will be considered” Alex said with a frown, he clearly wasn’t planning to repeat himself. He only did this because it was his brother asking but his cold glare made it clear he won’t repeat his words for the third time.
Members of the culture only sighed at this and looked away. Naturally, they weren’t concerned about things like this since they were confident in their strength. If something goes wrong, they can always fix it the old-fashioned way so minor things like this shouldn’t bother them.
