Chapter 293
“Then it’s a deal.” Vincent extended his hand for a handshake.
Yula was about to stand up and give a respectful handshake when she noticed Vincent with a frown on his face. She had to act casual as she did before this day and before she found out Vincent would become a noble.
Yula raised a smile, extended her hand, and made a casual handshake. “We will be in your care.” She said.
“Same here. Also, I can help with my storage ability to transport any heavy things here if you want to bring something from your house here.” Vincent offered his transport services.
“We have much to do since in seven days I will marry my girls. This mansion is a disaster and needs all the help it can get. But at least, the marriage isn’t going to take place here. Nevertheless, how knows if we might receive visitors before or after the wedding.” Vincent announced the news of marriage casually.
“We will get married in seven days!...” Ester raised her hands to cover her face. “Thank you.” She continued while a waterfall of tears produced by joy slid on her face. All of this happened because of her, and it made her love Vincent even more.
Iris blushed when she heard about becoming Vincent’s wife. She kept quiet with a delightful beaming smile raised. Iris was too happy and nervous to speak.
“A noble marring a demon like me? People will make fun of you.” Sakura bluntly said, yet her actions told a different story.
.....
Her lavender-colored cheeks blushed warm red, and her gaze was mostly looking at someone else. Sakura was trying to act shy in a rough bashful manner.
“Haha, so what? I am the one who will get to live with you and not them. Let jealous people say what they want. In other words, the moment you accept me as your man in these seven days, you will be mine forever through marriage.” Vincent replied.
Vincent turned his gaze on Iris and said, “Iris, the same can be said for you too. I will not force you to do anything other than to stay near me because of our secret. It will be your choice...”
“I-I w-want t-to m-marry y-y-you.” Iris interrupted with a nervously stuttering response.
[Okay. Iris is in the bag.]
[We only need Sakura’s final answer to see if this demon girl will join the harem. She is currently a temporary harem member, so let’s see if she can change her mind and make her a permanent one.]
-Heh... this isn’t a collect them all game. They are people.-
[Sorry, my bad. But who knows, hehe.]
“Congratulation to everyone. But how many will marry Vincent? I have lost count.” Yula asked.
“Five marriages in total if Sakura wants to be my woman. Four if she wants to live here surrounded by people she can trust.” Vincent informed. It made Sakura’s heart flutter hearing these words.
Yula stared at Vincent the moment she heard of so many marriages in one go. It felt like Vincent went to the grocery shop and bought the female customers instead of groceries.
“My mate! We are here!” Lupa appeared. She shouted and waved her arm energetically. Leah was sitting on her shoulders. Clara and Beth followed while holding her skirt.
“My mate, what will we do for seven days? ” Lupa curiously asked after she overheard a few words. She noticed many things needed fixing and cleaning, but such human work that needed to be done started depressing her.
[Five women and five free days. How about a pre-honeymoon. But I am a bit sad you might not spend some alone time with me.]
-Don’t be sad, my cute wisp. I will not forget you.-
Vincent liked the idea Kazumi suggested.
Vincent didn’t have much time to speak nor get to know Iris because it was quite hectic while traveling from and to Lusterfall City in a rush. Vincent’s and Iris’s minds were on the goblins and, later on, the dangerous plan for revenge.
On the other hand, Sakura hasn’t completely opened up to Vincent, and Lilith also had a panic attack problem. Both women were going to prove a challenge to date.
“How about I spend one day with each future wife as a date? I can get to know Iris, Lilith, and maybe Sakura if she wants to. We can go out on a date and have fun.” Vincent suggested.
Sakura stood up and stared at Vincent. She looked at him as if he had mentioned an impossible feat. “I will get hunted if I go out with you!” She exclaimed.
Vincent smirked. “So I take it you want a date then.” He winked at her.
Sakura flustered. “No, it’s not that it’s just...” She tried to say an excuse when.
“Lilith has enough makeup to give you a different skin tone. So, simply resist the heat by wearing long clothes in the summer and leave the rest to us.” Vincent interrupted.
Lupa went in front of Vincent and raised her hands as if she tried to hide the other from view. “Can I have the first date, my mate?” She enthusiastically asked.
Vincent shook his head and said, “This time, I have to say no. You and Ester will have the last days.”
“I need Iris, Lilith, and Sakura to get used to us and get acquainted.” He raised his hand and gave Lupa a pity head pat.
Lupa was about to cry since she had the be last place.
Ester got up and approached the sad wolf girl. She leaned over to her ear and whispered, “You can take my place if you want to. But the last date might be the best one since Vincent might want to go shopping on the first days. You know Vincent likes shopping, right?”
Lupa wagged her tail, and a smile appeared on her face. What Ester said made a lot of sense to her. Lupa was quite intrigued to spend a day together without talking to many people.
“I want to have the last date.” Lupa excitedly said.
[I wonder what Ester whispered. Should we start becoming afraid of Ester now too?]
Vincent gently tussled Lupa’s hair and said, “Anyone interested in boiled apples? I want to make some for everyone. ”
“The kitchen is a mess, but it shouldn’t have the same horrible stench as it had before. We opened the windows to air the kitchen, and some time passed now.” Ester informed.
Yula tapped on Tula’s shoulder to gain her attention. “Come, dear. Let’s help Vincent cook.” She looked at the five children standing next to each other and asked, “Do you good children also want to help?”
“A~ha~. I love mister’s apple.” Leah enthusiastically said while nodding her head cutely.
“Apples mister gave me were tasty. ” Clara said next.
“I want to help make apples. We love sweet apples.” Beth added.
Ester and Lupa nodded as they also loved the boiled apples Vincent made for them. However, those who didn’t get to try Vincent’s boiled apples were left with a puzzled frown.
What did Vincent add to become such a highly regarded apple boiled in water? Was in Iris, Sakura, Plow, Yula, Tula, Olive, and Lian’s thoughts.
A couple of minutes later, Vincent entered the lifeless kitchen. It needed extensive cleaning as it would fail the sanitary health check on Earth. There was dust, old sauces stains, and even dozens of dirty cutlery, plates, and cookware.
-No wonder they kept unnaturally quiet while we approached the kitchen. Their enthusiasm to eat apples was nowhere to be seen.-
[Disgusting. No wonder Demel was a pig. Even questionable cooks knew how to serve their employer. Were they actually cooks?...]
*Sigh...* “We need to clean this place first. This is a kitchen nightmare. I didn’t think it was going to be this bad.” Vincent said while shaking his head in disbelief.
“Although this is the worst kitchen condition I have ever seen in my entire life, I encountered a few kitchens that weren’t high class in the cleanliness category when it is a kitchen serving food to nobles. ” Yula revealed how a kitchen like this wasn’t a common sight, at least.
Vincent glanced at Yula and said, “We have organizations to keep a level of hygiene in kitchens of restaurants. This kitchen would be closed down in my world. They would surely estimate the situation of this disgusting environment as dangerous with the uncontrollable amount of unhealthy germs getting on the food.”
Vincent entered the kitchen and took a whiff. Thankfully the kitchen had enough time to air, and the smell wasn’t as horrible as before. However, it still wasn’t pleasant.
Yula nodded, and she agreed with Vincent’s assessment, but he mentioned the words ‘germs on food’, which confused her. “What do you mean by germs on food? Aren’t germs a term used by the herbalist shops to cure sickness?” she asked.
[No wonder this place is a kitchen nightmare.]
[There isn’t any system for working in a clean environment, it seems. Everyone has to learn by themselves if no one teaches the importance of hygiene.
[Well, as the saying goes, experience begets common sense. Thus no experience, no common sense similar to us.]
Vincent went next to a table and used his index finger to swipe the dust. “Isn’t this dirt? Isn’t this harmful and unhealthy? So, isn’t this germs?” He began to teach everyone other than Lupa and Plow. Lupa was covering her nose, and Plow used her paws to cover her nose as well.
