Chapter 486 159 - Perserios territory - part 4 - Countering the plan that was thirty years in the making (part 18)
"I don't know what to think about it. If the Barbariacca nation was so afraid of the sages, why didn't they try to make contact with the Ghosts of Bellcephora? Considering that they were traitors, wouldn't that make for far better allies than Vanterl?"The black-haired boy was still having doubts and wasn't going to keep them to himself.
"Didn't uncle Benevirau told you that the sages who are alive are the ones who fought and survived, or even won, against the Ghosts of Bellcephora? Considering that Vanterl was also the person who blinded uncle, I would say that the Barbariacca nation has found themselves a perfect ally."
The person that Zoemi was talking to was the blond healer magician, Burushi.
That was not because he trusted her more than Miriette or anything, simply, the acid magician had to be watched, and she was only mellow enough to control when either Zoemi or Miriette were around – as for the others, not so much.
"True... I wonder what is so special about him – grandpa can use mana from nature so he cannot run out of it. The Ghosts should have the advantage in numbers... Vanterl really must be a troublesome opponent... and we will definitely have to face him sooner or later... Rather later though, I imagine that if he was within the Perserios territory then they wouldn't send Roiso and Mirienne here."
The black-haired boy nodded, looking over his shoulder to see whether Miriette doesn't need to switch with him on the acid magician sitting duty.
"Speaking of which, why did they send her? I mean, the giant green snake flying through the air and landing in this villager was a dead giveaway of our location, but besides their first appearance, no one even came to pick her up... and I mean, from what she said, a lot of money had been spent on her, and she had those other two that appeared to be her friends and all..."
"Are you sure that you, the main heroine should be saying something like that? Now at least one of them is bound to show up at any time."
Burishi pointed out, furrowing her brows, to which Zoemi snickered.
"Don't even get me started on that – the game events ended – the game only covered a single year and you know it."
The blond girl rolled her eyes and waved her hand dismissively, but then...
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
"ROISO! MIRIENNE! IF YOU AREN'T DEAD, CALL FOR HELP!"
The sudden explosion shook the entire house and most likely the whole village too – and it was also followed by a really worried voice.
"..."
"...I will go ahead and bite my tongue for jinxing that..."
Burushi stared at Zoemi with a deadly glare and the black-haired boy lowered his head apologetically, already moving towards the door to face the newest arrival.
"ROISO! MIRIENNE! YOU CANNOT BE DEAD!"
Whoever was the owner of the voice, they sure seemed to care about the acid magician.
"...hold on... why do I know that voice...?"
The blond-haired girl muttered to herself while Zoemi already left the house, so she hurried after him.
The village was once again in a disarray and interestingly enough the newest arrival was causing almost the same kind of reaction as the massive air emperor – who was currently taking her time protecting the area from the exact situation that was just taking place.
As for the reason why the attention the unwelcomed guest have gathered was comparable to the enormous vivid-green snake-like monster, the shouting individual was perfectly white.
The girl seemed to be of similar age to Zoemi and Burushi, maybe a little bit older, and the best comparison that anyone could make to her was... white like fresh snow.
Her skin and most of her hair looked as if they were drained of all color, and the clothes that she was wearing only showed it more.
The only differentiating thing was the hint of pale blue at the tips of her hair, which was unusual because usually the magicians were appalled at the thought of dying their hair even the tiniest bit.
Well, besides the coloration or rather the discoloration, the reason for attention must have been the way the intruder appeared.
Judging by the mass of snow that crushed a house that the villagers decided to empty out and offer to Zoemi's group after some consideration, the white-as-snow girl literally came crashing down within a massive snowball...
"MIRIENNE! ROISO!"
...and she certainly didn't seem to want to stop shouting...
"WHERE IS SHE?!"
The white-as-snow girl's voice boomed over the village as she turned towards the villagers who all back away at the same time, keeping their mouths shut.
"THE ACID MAGICIAN GIRL! WHAT DID YOU DO WITH H...?!"
"Metavicero...?!"
As the intruder began walking towards the terrified villagers, closing the distance that they were desperately trying to keep, Burushi popped up from behind Zoemi and gasped, looking only at the back of the other one.
"...!"
The reaction was instant, the white=as-snow girl flinched and stopped in place just to slowly turn around and stare in shock at the blond-haired girl and the black-haired boy.
...well, mostly at the blond-haired girl...
"Miss healer...!"
"...!"
The snow-like girl gasped and rushed towards them without thinking, and honestly made Zoemi tense up.
|Little ones in charge of Burushi, make sure to watch her properly.|
"(Of course.)"
"(As always.)"
Burushi cried out and came running from behind the black-haired boy, but he didn't stop her – what he did instead spoke to the sentinels hidden within the blond-haired girl's shadow, and got a fast and confident response.
The two girls met close by the village chief's house since the snow-like girl was much faster than the healer girl.
"Metavicero! I was so worried! Your parents told me that you ran away from home but they framed it as if you killed yourself! But you're here! I am so happy...!"
Burushi hugged the other girl briefly and then pulled away at the arm's reach and cried out...
"But... what happened to you? What is with this whole discoloration, and weren't you a water magician before? Ah! Wait – were you also experimented on like Mirienne and Roiso were?! Tsk...! She told us there were two more people like her, but I would never expect you!"
The blond girl gasped, looking at Metavicero from head to toe before clicking her tongue and shaking her head in a slightly annoyed realization.
"Zoemi! Could you get her here?"
Burushi didn't even wait for the reaction of the snow-like girl and turned around without actually letting go of her and called out to the black-haired boy.
"Sure."
Knowing that sentinels would not let anything bad happen to her, Zoemi nodded his head with a little shrug and took a step back inside the house.
"Roiso! I need you here!"
"COMING!"
The black-haired boy raised his voice just a little bit – and the response came so fast that one had to wonder how come the acid magician didn't react to the snow-loke girl when she was hurting her throat calling out both names.
The acid magician trotted out of the room, closely followed by the slightly surprised Miriette.
"What is going on...?"
"Huh...? Didn't you hear Metavicero calling them...?"
The acid magician was already glued to Zoemi's arm and Miriette nodded up at him with a surprising question, to which he asked back even more surprised.
The dark-haired girl's hearing was only second to his own, she didn't hear anything...
"Metavicero...? LORD ZOEMI, NO! METAVICERO IS UNDER SO MANY CURSES THAT SHE CAN NOT DISOBEY THE ORDERS SHE'S GIVEN!"
"Wha...?!"
As soon as Zoemi voiced his confusion, he felt Roiso flinch and stare up at him in desperation, which bewildered the black-haired boy who blinked in confusion and turned around...
...just to see the world outside had turned pure white.
Within the few seconds he wasn't paying attention, a thick veil of snow coated the entire village, and the snow-like girl had the unconscious Burushi thrown over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
"Ah, you are here, alive and well. Good."
*click*
*WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH*
Metavicero nodded with a relieved smile and snapped her fingers, causing a massive snowstorm that swallowed the entire village within a moment.
Zoemi managed to hide in the house while the mass broke the windows and doors, but even with that, the snow pushed its way inside filling every available nook and cranny, buffeting everything with no exception.
To make matters that much worse the snow itself had the same ability to freeze mana like ice attribute did, but was far more sinister. It didn't hurt like ice, and it muffled everything it touched.
It took less than a minute literally erase the village of the Fr-South Tusk Tribe from existence, burrowing it after the humungous amount of cold, fluffy whiteness.
Only a second or two later, the massive vibrant-green snake with a murky-black sphere raiding atop her head descended from above.
"MASTER?!"
"MASTER...?!"
Both the air emperor and the sentinel called out, each to a different person, but the answer did not come, even though they called both using their voices and spells.
The connection to Miriette and Zoemi was completely lost as if they were no longer alive.
"We need to get them out of there!"
The air emperor cried out in panic, about to burrow herself into the snow.
"I am trying! This doesn't melt...!"
The sentinel rolled off of her head onto the snow and used a fire spell against it, but there was no effect whatsoever.
*crack*
"There it...! Huh...?!"
The surface of the snow was ruptured as a perfectly white hand appeared from underneath, causing the murky-black sphere to gaps in confusion, as it expected to see its master
