Chapter 87
Usually, for an occasion like this, only the old master Wang would attend as every other member of the family didn’t like to associate with the elites.
For Wang Lei who already had an high ranking position in the government, he would often try to attend some and then leave some out.
But today, every member of the Wang family had dressed to their finest and taken about three cars that they could use to get there conveniently.
“I don’t think grandfather should allow Rong Yue go like this, I can bet that all those capital heirs would be losing their mind the moment they see her.” Wang An grumbled in dissatisfaction as he took another glance at Rong Yue from the front.
Dressed in a very light blue qipao that gave the illusion that one was looking at the sea ahead and had been decorated with green and a deeper blue, Rong Yue looked like some goddess that had just stepped out from the seven seas.
Her hair and makeup were aimed at being light and simple, yet, her aura and that devilishly beautiful face made all of that plan to die out.
“We are here.” Wang Bo murmured, his gaze fixed on Rong Yue who looked like she was taking a nap.
Her eyes snapped open, lighting up the originally flawless face as she smiled slightly.
.....
“You both can go, I’ll walk inside with her.” Wang Lei, who had driven them over said as he waved off his brothers out of the car.
“Eldest brother, that’s even more dangerous. You are at the age where so many families want you to marry their daughters and so many of these elite ladies have their eyes on you.” Wang An argued, ignoring his brother’s face that had formed a scowl.
“I heard from school that he’s number eleventh on the list.” Wang Bo added from the back.
“Exactly, and you both know that those top ten are giants all over, so there’s even more attention as you seem to be the most attainable for those seeking to climb up the ladder or maintain their ladder position.”
“If you enter with her, you will only allow people to cause her so much trouble all through the day.” He argued and Rong Yue chuckled as she looked at the three brothers.
“We can all enter together, that way, it won’t create any solid impression.” She offered and the other two nodded.
Wang Lei’s hands clenched tightly around the steering wheel. He had been planning to use the entrance to warn the men that were inside that she wasn’t available. Unfortunately, his two cousins had ruined his plans one more time.
After parking appropriately, the four of them got down from the car and Wang Lei passed the key to the butler before leading the way.
Since she was the only female, the three of them fell into position beside her with Wang Lei on her left while the other two were on her left.
Wang An also took on the noble duty of carrying the bag that had all her materials and tools for the painting competition.
As soon as they got to the hall entrance, all of the people manning the door looked at Rong Yue and their eyes opened a little wider in surprise at her looks.
Used to having that effect on people, Rong Yue paid them no mind and waited for the wide wooden doors to be opened.
With their lineup and the habit of people turning over as soon as the door opened, every eyes in the hall was on them the moment the doors parted.
“We appear to be late,” Rong Yue mumbled as she looked at the already filled hall.
“It would seem so.” Wang Bo said with a cheeky smile as they took in everyone in the hall.
“Who is she??”
“Isn’t she too stunning to be real?” A girl asked her friends as her eyes flashed in jealousy.
With how the rich usually picked theirselves and their genes, most of them had the same level of beauty and would usually rely on their skills, intellect and auras to outshine the other.
But for the girl in front of them, she didn’t even have to display anything else other than her and she already took all the lights away.
Her dress although perfect was not flashy and looked to be more of a garment than an adornment to her beauty.
The more they walked forward, the more hateful glares they got.
However, while the girls were feeling intimidated and frustrated at seeing such a challenging person, the men were unable to restrain themselves.
“What family is she from?”
“When was there a beauty like this in the capital?” Another young master asked as he licked his lips deliciously.
“Seeing as she is with the Wang Family, perhaps a distant relative?” Someone offered and although he seemed to be giving them a solution, his eyes also had the calculating and lascivious look in them also.
“I heard they haven’t had any female for their past four generations. It’s impossible for her to be from them and we wouldn’t have known.”
“We would eventually know.”
The four paid no mind to their discussion and just found a suitable place to stay for the occasion.
“I suppose we ask grandfather when the competition is so that we can leave immediately. Things are looking suspicious here.” Wang Bo joked as he looked at all the attention they were getting.
“Hmmm, I’ll let him know, you both should stay here with her, I have to at least say hello to some people around now that I’m here.” Wang Lei told them before giving Rong Yue a light pat on the shoulder.
She nodded in understanding without saying anything. More than him, she understood the importance of socializing in an event like this.
He was already in his late thirties and had a good position and so a lot of the older people here would have even more expectations from him.
As for the other two brothers, they were both still in their early twenties and were in the university, they didn’t need to dabble in serious matters and could just hang around with their guests.
At the high table of the event Pang Ye looked from beside his father at Rong Yue with interest.
“Which family’s daughter is that, I don’t seem to have seen her before?” He asked his mother who looked at where his eyes were.
Seeing Rong Yue, the mother also felt her mouth slacken in surprise at the beauty of the girl. Even from a distance, it was like she was opening their minds to another boundary of beauty.
Usually, her son was always indifferent to most capital girls and would occasionally just have fun with some of them. To see him being interested in a girl was something she wanted to see from the depth of her heart.
“I don’t know, but it’s only a matter of asking, after all.”
“Leave it to your mother, I would help you get answer.”
After saying that, she picked up her phone and sent a message out and then went back to making causal conversation with her father.
Not long after, the doors opened again and the old master of the Pang family came in with his eldest son and heir, adorned in bright red outfit that seemed to make him look younger that the 80 years he was celebrating.
“He looks ten years younger.” Rong Yue murmured out her observation while the two two caught on to it very quickly.
“Hmmm, it’s like that in the top families here, the Qin family master is 75 this year and yet, he looks to be nothing close to 60 when you meet him, with legacies of wealth being passed down, they look a lot more younger than they are.” Wang An replied quickly and she nodded.
“You also look like you are barely sixteen, thankfully, grandfather already told us your age.” Wang Bo added from the side and Rong Yue chuckled.
“It’s good to look younger.”
“You look like eighteen with how you are dressed and made up now. It would have been better if you looked fifteen, at least, we would go home with lesser troubles.” Wang An said as he eyed a group of young masters that had been moving closer to them with style in the last minutes.
“It’s not important, no one can do anything to us.” Rong Yue said confidently.
“Let’s get something to eat, I’m starting to get hungry.” She told the two of them as she noticed that the group of four men were closing in.
If this was some club or bar, the restraint that the four of them were showing would have been nonexistent but in a place like this, they had to be careful with their every actions.
“You want to have some of the side tray meals?” Wang Bo asked curiously and his face also had a look of uncertainty. It was not hidden that the food in the hall was usually not for hitting and more like for decoration.
And properly planned parties would generally have some place where they would later have tables and chairs for serving the guests.
“Hmmm, since they made it and placed it here, it would only be rude if we don’t eat right, moreover, the celebrant is already here, we can eat if we want.” Rong Yue said, trying her hand at convincing them and the two boys eventually gave in and nodded.
Since they also wanted to avoid the four men, they walked to the other side of the hall.
With her appearance, a lot of the people in the party were keeping an eye on her every movement and as soon as Rong Yue took a plate, a lot of them frowned in dissatisfaction.
Before they could say anything, the large doors opened and the butler by the door announced.
“Second Young Master Qin and third Young Master Mo have arrived!”
