Chapter 85
Although he had looked quite tired when he had fallen asleep on her shoulder, she was finding it hard to accept that he had a cough as bad as what he had the previous day on the call.
“How can you live all alone here?” She asked as she crossed her arms over her chest with narrowed eyes.
“I don’t like to live around people.” Qin Yichen said blandly as he entered the kitchen.
Without him in the living room, the whole space felt even larger than it was before and Rong Yue looked around carefully.
The design of the living room was intricate and elegant. It felt as if in every piece of item, a part of Qin Yichen was in there.
She was not someone that paid attention to things like house interiors in her past life, but now, she was a whole lot different and had come to understand that it was easier to see through things by looking very well.
She was still checking the center part of the room when she smelt a sweet fragrance from the direction she had seen Qin Yichen go in through, she used the hallway she had seen Qin Yichen him pass and was finally able to get to the kitchen.
“Why are you here?” She asked with a scowl, she loved good food but it didn’t mean that she wanted someone that was sick to make food for her.
.....
“You should be resting.”
“Just by seeing you, I’m already better.” Qin Yichen said with no change in his expression as she dished out the food from the pots.
“I already made a long time before now and just had to heat it up, don’t act as if your man is about to die.” He teased as he moved closer to her.
Just as he was about to corner Rong Yue, she escaped right under his arm.
“You are clearly feeling better already, I’ll be leaving as soon as I’m done eating.” Rong Yue informed him as she found a tray and placed the dishes inside.
Qin Yichen said nothing and just followed her, knowing that any more teasing would have her becoming uncomfortable.
The both of them ate in comfortable silence, each person mulling over their own thoughts.
“So what’s the competition that your master invited you about?” He asked after a while, breaking the comfortable silence that they were in.
However, before Rong Yue could reply, the door to the living room burst open and a man with bright purple hair rushed inside.
“How can you be cooking and not tell me? The whole estate has been filled with the smell of your cooking.” Mo Fan yelled as he rushed to the dining room.
However, before he could sit down, he froze as he saw Rong Yue who had also stopped with her chopsticks in the air.
The both of them made eye contact and then looked at Qin Yichen.
“Why do you have to yell so loudly.” Qin Yichen said as his brows furrowed in dissatisfaction.
“Bro... who is this? Why do you have a girl in your house?” Long gone was the thought of rushing in here to eat as he stared at the astonishing beauty in front of him.
“How can you have such a beauty in your house??” He blurted out as he turned and walked around to meet Rong Yue.
Although Rong Yue had seen a lot of people and celebrities move around with colored hairs, even brightly colored hairs like this, in a time like this where the internet was still being explored. It was not common to see someone with hair dyed this brightly.
Also, he seemed to have called Qin Yichen his bro? Rong Yue looked at Qin Yichen, expecting him to reply.
“Mo Fan,” Qin Yichen called out making Mo Fan who had been about to sit down beside Rong Yue stop and freeze at the deadly gaze Qin Yichen was giving him.
“If you can’t treat your future sister in law with respect, then you can move back to your family house in less than 48 hours.” He threatened.
However, before Mo Fan could say anything, Rong Yue spoke up.
“Future sister in law? Do you just lay claim to any nurse that comes to treat you Mr Qin?” She asked with a daring expression on her face.
Her words and tone made Mo Fan’s eyes widen in alarm as he wondered where she had gotten the courage to talk to the second master like that.
But a look at Qin Yichen’s face had him become even more stupefied.
“As long as the nurse is you, you can also lay claim to me to help you feel better.”
“Second brother?” Mo Fan called out, breaking the eye contact that Rong Yue and Qin Yichen were keeping.
“You have less than two minutes to get out of..” seeing how his face had changed from dissatisfaction to anger, Mo Fan shot out of the room like the house was on fire.
“That’s one of my friend, he’s more like a brother and can be quite mischievous. You can be rest assured that nothing can happen.” Qin Yichen said after she had left.
Although he didn’t know what Rong Yue’s mind was yet when it came to accepting him, but he was sure the little girl would not want to be tagged as his girl at this stage of her life.
“Okay.”
After dinner, Rong Yue gave him instructions on all the herbal medicine that her mother had prescribed.
Wang Lei had dropped her off quite early in the morning and it was already noon, considering the distance from Qin Yichen’s place to where her master lived, if she didn’t leave now, she was going to get home slightly around evening.
“Let me drop you off.” Qin Yichen said as he picked up one of the car keys that were on the table.
The drive back to her master’s place was more relaxed and the both of them talked a lot about the plans she had for the business she was setting up.
Although she had thought with her experience and two lifetime, she was going to have no hitch with running it, but talking with Qin Yichen helped her notice some holes in her plans and he also helped her plan some in a better way.
“I have a friend that has a building that can suite your warehouse, he used to use it as branch for his production of wines, I think it would do just fine.”
“Would he like to sell?” Rong Yue asked, and Qin Yichen chuckled.
“When you know someone’s selling price, cash or kind, there’s barely anything or anyone that can’t be bought.”
Rong Yue mulled over his words and nodded in agreement after some seconds.
“We are here already,” Rong Yue told him and the car slowed down in front of the large house.
Qin Yichen stretched his hand under the car seat and pulled out a small brown paper bag.
“Here, I got you this on a trip I made to Paris earlier this week, I was going to bring it along the next time I made a trip down to A city.” He told her as he passed her the bag.
Rong Yue looked at the bag skeptically before accepting it from him. “You can have a look when you are in, it’s impolite to wait here for long without entering.” Qin Yichen said.
However, while his words were telling her to leave, his actions were saying something completely different as he pulled her small figure towards him and placed a quick and chaste kiss on her lips.
Rong Yue pinched him sharply as she pulled away and rushed out of the car swiftly.
“It’s getting harder and harder to deal with this Big Bad Wolf.” She muttered as she placed her hands on her chest to calm herself down properly before entering the house.
“Rong Yue! You are back, we have been waiting for you all day.”
“First thing first, let’s exchange numbers. Grandfather said we shouldn’t disturb but your dress was already hours ago.” Wang Bo added immediately as the both of them dumped the games they were playing as soon as she entered.
“I rushed back as soon as I could, turns out my friend stays on the other other side of the capital.” She answered as she went to sit beside them.
“How can your ranking be this low?” She said with a disdainful glare at the both of them as she position that was beside their names.
“You don’t know anything about this, this game is relatively new and it’s difficult as hell, come and see how it’s being played.” Wang An said as he picked up his game cursor.
Rong Yue sat there without a word and watched as they lost in less than ten minutes.
“Let me show you how to play.” She said as she took the cursor from Wang Bo’s hands and then scooted closer to them.
Although Wang Bo had a look of curiosity.
Wang An was more arrogant and kissed his teeth.
“Don’t expect that the men in the game would be kinder to a beauty okay?” He teased as he restarted the game to take them to the beginning.
“They are only going to keep seeing Wang Bo’s identity.”
“Don’t keep talking, just watch as I whoop your ass.” She said as she clicked for the game to start.
Rong Yue clicked starting the game from the last played level since she was sure she was going to find the earlier levels even more annoying.
“Are you sure you don’t want to start from the beginning? We have used close to nine months to get to our current level.” Wang Bo advised on the side.
“I said I was going to teach you both how to play, not to try to understand the game.” Rong Yue said cockily as she picked a competition and started to play. Instead joining a team, she decided to be a solo player.
