Chapter 176
He knew that his current power along with Robus’ and Cyra’s was nothing to be underestimated as he was more than confident that the three of them could easily ravage an entire humanoid demon base in just minutes.
With the condition that there was an unknown factor such as the humanoid demons from the deeper realms.
The black stone towers with the rune formation that Blake still didn’t know about since the trees blocked his view, then the humanoid demons abilities from the deeper realms that Blake didn’t know anything about, the humanoid demons from the deeper realms were really an unpredictable factor that needed all his attention to determine whether he could really defeat them.
And right now, seeing the muscular humanoid demon with the dark red skin and the demonic runes inscribed on his body, just like how Blake also had runes on his body to activate his bloodline power, Blake had instantly increased the danger level of the humanoid demon base in front of him.
‘If there were really two humanoid demons from the deeper realms manning this place, then I shouldn’t risk it unless I know how strong they really are...’ Blake thought to himself.
He remained as motionless as possible and kept his breathing as silently as possible when he observed the group of humanoid demons as getting caught now would be the worst possible scenario that Blake could have gotten himself and his group into.
But leaving the place to go further away so he wouldn’t be noticed so easily wasn’t a great idea either. Blake was already stuck there and making any kind of movements would pull the humanoid demons’ attention, including trying to move away to a safer place.
Moreover, he wouldn’t be able to learn about anything if he was too far away either, so his current situation, though not too desirable, also had its own benefits.
.....
Blake’s eyes observed the group of humanoid demons, putting most of his focus on the two humanoid demons that he suspected to come from the deeper realms, but not staring at them all the time as he was afraid that they could somehow feel his gaze due to their rich experience or even worse, they did have an unknown ability to do exactly that.
It was quite unfortunate that Blake wasn’t close enough to hear what the humanoid demons from the deeper realms were chatting about, but thinking how dangerous it would actually be if he was closer, Blake was just satisfied with the information that he could gather right now and observed the humanoid demons’ movements more closely than before.
The two humanoid demons from the deeper realms were moving together as they went outside the gate and walked towards the groups of humanoid demon hunters that had gathered outside.
The greenish humanoid demon had actually waited for the muscular humanoid demon’s arrival a few days ago as he had asked for assistance from about two weeks before.
However, the muscular humanoid demon didn’t go to the second humanoid base right away after he was told to do so and instead circled around the main continent first before finally getting to the base in the Forest of The Beast.
The detour was not supposed to be that long. However, an unexpected event had led the muscular humanoid demon to go to the west side of the main continent first before finally going to the forest base.
The greenish humanoid demon that was in charge of the base in the forest was quite irritated that the help that he asked for was delayed much much longer despite knowing that it would probably take only a couple of days of travel for the muscular demon to arrive to his base from the base that the muscular humanoid demon had been staying before.
However, knowing the vast difference in their strength he had with the muscular humanoid demon and the fact that he also knew something very unexpected had also happened, the greenish demon’s ire dissipated as quickly as it surfaced.
The greenish demon had called back the humanoid demons that were sent to explore the whole Forest of The Beast, something that they still weren’t able to do despite the long time they had spent on the main continent establishing their base and ‘recruiting’ the native humanoid demons to be their army and nurturing them to be stronger.
The reason for that was so that the muscular demon would be able to lead the other humanoid demons to the frontier of their endeavor to conquer and traverse the Forest of The Beast.
He alone wasn’t enough to do it, so he asked for the assistance of a stronger demon to do it, and the muscular humanoid demon was the strongest of them all.
“Sir, do you want me to accompany you or will you go alone?”
“Just stay at the base while I go out. We didn’t know what happened to that fool, but just in case something did happen, the base would need someone to defend it.” The muscular demon replied without looking at the greenish demon’s face.
“I understand, sir.” The greenish demon bowed as he stopped walking a step further, letting the muscular demon walk to the group of humanoid demons by himself.
The muscular demon then arrived at the front of the groups of humanoid demons with his head held up and eyes looking down at the other humanoid demons.
“Come on maggots! Let’s get this done with. You will do as I say and you won’t do anything that I didn’t say. Do you all imbeciles understand me!?”
“Yghes!” Several of the humanoid demons from the group replied instantly after the muscular demon’s question.
Even though it was their first time meeting the muscular humanoid demon, they were able to determine the fact that the muscular humanoid demon was stronger than they are, evident from how their former leader was talking to the muscular demon.
The humanoid demons weren’t the smartest, but even they knew a subservient behavior when they saw the greenish demon politely speaking to the muscular demon while sometimes bowing his head.
So when the muscular humanoid demon opened up his mouth and spoke in a condescending tone, all the humanoid demons had unanimously understood that they would now be following the muscular demon’s order, and not a single one of them had any other thoughts.
“Follow me and make sure none of you are left behind!” The muscular demon shouted before he turned his body and walked in the direction of the forest.
“Make sure you keep the base safe, won’t you?” The muscular demon finally turned his face around and shot a glance towards the greenish demon that stood still some distance away from the front gate, not going with the group of humanoid demon hunters.
When the greenish demon bowed his head once again and the muscular humanoid demon saw it, he began running forward, forcing the groups of humanoid demons on his back to exert a significant amount of strength to keep up with the humanoid demon that had gone through evolution once.
Once the dozens of humanoid demons had completely gone away from the base along with the muscular humanoid demon, the forest green humanoid demon’s eyes wandered around the trees for a few more seconds before spitting to the side while mumbling inaudible words that Blake couldn’t’ hear while making his way back inside the base.
“Close the gate.”
The humanoid demon guards that stayed at the front gate then stepped aside, letting the forest green humanoid demon go back to the base. The gate to the base was usually opened up all the time as the dangers located around the base had all been taken care of by the humanoid demon hunters.
However, after the unexpected event that happened some time ago, the forest green humanoid demon took the matter seriously and made sure the security of his base was still secured despite the strongest humanoid demon hunters in the base had all gone back to continue their expedition.
The forest green humanoid demon believed that the unexpected event happened because someone foolish had probably done something stupid and caused it to happen.
But he himself believed that he wouldn’t make any stupid mistake or do something that he shouldn’t.
Hence why even though the forest green humanoid demon did take an extra measure to not open the gate of the base all the time, the forest green humanoid demon didn’t bother to do anything else as he already knew that his forest was safer than anything else.
He had been living in the base inside the forest for at least a full year and said he already knew what kind of demons lived around the area and he had already cleared all the danger that might harm him from around the base was not wrong because he had really done that already.
But still, an order to keep the base safe was an order and he did have some questions as to what his foolish kin had done to get himself killed, so the forest green humanoid demon tried to do it right and being careful by sending a few teams of humanoid demons to patrol around the base.
The forest humanoid demon’s train of thought was not exactly wrong as it would be hard for someone arrogant thinking that they were invincible to suddenly understand the concept that something might threaten them in their own playground, and his decision to be extra careful was also right despite his arrogance.
However, that amount of carefulness was still not enough.
As the moment the groups of strong humanoid demons and the scary and intimidating-looking muscular humanoid demon disappeared from the vicinity, a certain creature had already planned to use the best opportunity that had just arrived as best as he could.
