Chapter 157
And with the experience of breaking the first pillar, Blake was able to uproot the second pillar faster and moved on to the third pillar before the myriad of darkness tendrils spell finished manifesting itself.
However, no matter how fast Blake could improve and learn about the unknown spell of the flying humanoid demons and how to remove the pillars and break the binds on Robus faster, there was simply no way for Blake to completely free Robus just from the few seconds that the myriad of darkness tendrils had bought him.
This time, instead of Blake waiting for the flying humanoid demon to release another curse or promise to get back at him, Blake kept the flying humanoid demon on the edge of his vision with most of his attention while still removing the binds on Robus.
So when the flying humanoid demon had once again returned from the sky and was about to head in his direction, Blake quickly put one of his hands towards the flying humanoid demon’s direction before once again drawing the myriad of darkness tendril spell.
While on his other hand, Blake was casting a dark earth spike to root up the third darkness pillar from beneath.
Seeing that Blake had already finished the runes to cast the unknown spell that yet and yet again had caused him injuries, the flying humanoid demon was finally able to curb out his anger for a moment and shouted,
“WAIT!!!”
“Why should I wait for you!?” Blake shouted back as he kept his finished runes floating in front of him, ready to be released at any second.
.....
“I PROMISE I WON’T HURT YOU AND YOUR FRIEND, PARTNER, PET, OR WHATEVER THAT DEMONIC BEAST IS!”
“So? What do you want other than hurting me or my friend!?”
“I JUST WANT TO TALK! I PROMISE!”
Then as if thinking hard about it, Blake’s eyebrows furrowed for a few seconds before finally giving his answer.
“Stay right there and start talking!”
After finally dodging another bullet, the flying humanoid demon then began to open his mouth and talk.
“I don’t know where you came from, but the fact that you are strong is undeniable and I need strong people like you to be under me.”
“Under you? What makes you think I want to work for you and become your slave!?” Blake shouted back while slowly moving his feet on the ground slowly, making sure that the flying humanoid demon wouldn’t be able to see what his feet were doing from so far away.
“Judging from how you know about rune formations and the basic darkness spells, I assume that you are certainly way smarter than the humanoid demons here.”
“I also believe that there was no way for you to defeat me and release your friend over there. You can’t even outrun me and the only thing that made you able to fight me was your unknown spell that I have never seen before.”
“And that spell couldn’t even cause anything other than small wounds on my body. It couldn’t defeat me.”
“But even I know such spells wouldn’t cost a small amount of nether to cast. You can only cast them a couple more times before you run out of nether. And by that time, you would not have any abilities to fight me back.”
Blake listened closely to what the flying humanoid demon had to say. And it was all true and facts – at least from the flying humanoid demon’s point of view.
It was true that the myriad of darkness tendril spell cost a lot of nether to cast as even though most of the nether came from the environment, the deadly spell also needed his own nether to be the catalyst that draws in the abundant amount of nether.
And to draw in a lot of nether, not a negligible amount was needed to do so.
However, the flying humanoid demon didn’t know that the nether in Blake’s body was different from the ordinary nether that he knew.
Just the sheer amount of it was a lot since Blake literally neglected his physique stat to dumb all of his stats to his spirit stat, causing his physical strength to be considerably weaker that he couldn’t even chase a demonic monkey without using the single darkness tendril spell.
But the quantity of the nether was not all factor that made the flying humanoid demon’s judgment to be incorrect.
The quality of his nether was also different. Very different in fact, that Blake was even able to use the runes that were only available in the second realm spell and successfully cast a spell with them.
So albeit the flying humanoid demon’s assumptions would be 100% true if Blake were any humanoid demon mage from the first realm, his current judgment was fatally wrong in Blake’s case.
Moreover, the statement that Blake didn’t have anything to kill the flying humanoid demon was also wrong.
Blake knew a certain way that could do it. But with his current situation, Blake was sure that he would be limp on the ground after he used it, hence why his feet were making the proper preparations to make sure that he and Robus didn’t get stuck there after he dealt with the flying humanoid demon.
“In fact, I could just do that and let you fall into a weakened state first, but I want to give you an offer with a better condition first as a sign of recognizing your strength. And if you refuse the current offer, you will only get worse conditions later when you are in a weakened state and you’re unable to fight anymore.”
“It will be an inevitable fact that you will lose. It is up to you to accept it now while you are still in a better state and have better conditions offered or later when you will have no choice but to accept.”
“What offer?”
Right after Blake asked the question, the flying humanoid demon then spoke some words,
“I ,#!, offer this contract.”
Blake couldn’t hear what the second word that the flying humanoid demon had said at all as if there was something blocking his sense of hearing, but he would assume that it was his name.
Then after chanting out loud and sending nether into his voice, a piece of rolled-up paper suddenly appeared floating right in front of Blake.
Blake’s eyes then glanced at the scroll in front of him and watched as the scroll unfurled itself.
Using the demon’s language, at the very top of the scroll was written, ‘Demon Contract’.
