Chapter 144
And what Blake did was to wait until all the screams stopped coming out and the pitch-black surroundings had become fully silent again.
It wasn’t a 100% foolproof plan, but it was quite accurate considering that the humanoid demons that had fallen into his trap didn’t seem to have any unique physical trait that gave their heads extra protection like the case with the brownish demon back then.
So it was safe to assume that the humanoid demons stopped expressing the pain they felt meant that they had already not felt the pain anymore, or in other simpler words, dead.
And after the screams stopped and Blake assumed that the humanoid demons had died, Blake decided to get out of the dark earth dome, or more precisely, make his way out because the dome was shut tight and there was really no way in or out.
No matter how much Blake liked souls and even though he wanted to eat the souls first before getting out, he couldn’t do that in his current circumstances.
The souls of the demons were also dark in color, making it impossible for Blake to locate them in the current pitch-black environment.
Blake didn’t have any abilities that enabled him to see in the dark or locate the souls by sniffing them or somehow feeling their presents. Blake didn’t have anything like that in his arsenal.
Fortunately for Blake, even though the dark earth dome was very sturdy and it would almost be impossible for him to dissemble the earth dome without creating any loud noises that might draw attention towards them, Blake was the one who created the earth dome and he knew which way he could get out of the earth dome relatively easily.
.....
After trying his best to walk to the edge of the earth dome, walking over thick tree branches and one huge tree trunk, and possibly one corpse of the humanoid demons, Blake drew a simple set of earth elemental runes and made a hole right under the sturdy dark earth dome.
And although the earth dome was very tough, the ground beneath it wasn’t.
Blake used that fact and made his design so that it would be possible for him to go a little bit underground to escape the dark earth dome.
After a man-sized hole that connected the inside of the earth dome and the outside world was created, Blake used it to get outside the earth dome and heaved a huge sigh.
“This method is quite complicated and I can’t get in and out quickly if it were like this,” Blake muttered out loud while staring at the huge earth dome that was tough enough to break down trees and did its job to keep anything from going in and out of it very well.
“Too well, I guess. I can’t even grab the souls that I’ve reaped without breaking a small part of the earth dome to get some light in.”
Blake then grabbed another one of his wooden cubes, activated it, and pressed a certain side of it towards the dark earth dome.
Blake also didn’t forget to cast a simple darkness barrier spell using his other hand and covered the wooden cube.
The wooden cube then flashed before it released several concentrated darkness bullets toward the direction of the dark earth dome.
It would have caused some noise, but the darkness barrier that Blake had cast was placed to mitigate the sound from coming out of the barrier, and the barrier did its job well containing the sound of the concentrated darkness bullets from being heard by the surroundings.
Due to the direct contact from the wooden cube with the darkness bullet, the wooden cube was destroyed beyond use and Blake’s hand had already let go of it.
Although the wooden cube wouldn’t be usable anymore, it had done its job and it created significant cracks in a small part of the dark earth dome.
“This thing is really tough isn’t it?” Blake whistled before asking for Robus’ help to give the cracks a little bit more push that they needed to finally break apart.
Then after Blake cast a sizable darkness barrier to prevent the sound of Robus’ punch from coming out, Robus swung his huge hand, also clad in the dark earth armor, straight towards the cracks that the concentrated darkness bullets had made earlier.
And the result was just as Blake had guessed. The part of the earth dome that already had deep cracks in it broke under Robus’ incredible physical prowess and finally let some of the red sun’s light inside the dome.
Making it possible for Blake to see inside the earth dome and getting the souls one by one.
It was really a chore getting in and out of the earth dome using the man-sized hole that he had made earlier, not to add the fact that he still couldn’t see very clearly inside despite the hole that Robus had punched through the earth dome.
After eating all the souls inside, including the bear demonic beast as per his agreement with Robus on how to divide the souls that they had hunted, Blake quickly moved on to another location after destroying the 4 head-sized wooden balls that were used to create the earth dome.
They left the earth dome there standing as the place that they picked was not necessarily close enough to the base that they would find the earth dome anytime soon.
And if the humanoid demons did find the earth dome, Robus and Blake would have gone quite a distance away, only giving the humanoid demons an unsolved mystery as to how such a huge earth dome would appear out of nowhere.
With Blake’s first prototype failing, Blake and Robus then moved to another location, waiting for another chance that they could use to trap more humanoid demons, but this time, the isolating dome would be different from the first one.
And it was also Robus’ time to get his fill of souls.
