Chapter 65
And from the visible spark that jumped from the wolf’s body that was slightly bigger than Robus’ arm straight onto Robus’ body, Blake could only guess that the amount of electricity that passed through Robus’ body would be anything but little.
The sparks of electricity entered Robus’ arm before traveling to his chest, to his other arm, then to his feet before disappearing onto the ground.
Of course, Blake wasn’t able to see all this process as the sparks of electricity moved so incredibly fast that a small, little flash was all that Blake saw from the outside perspective before it completely went away as if nothing had happened.
And Blake didn’t know what the wolf was aiming for from doing it, but whatever it was, it seems that it turned out to be a failure since Robus didn’t even release a scream of pain or even a reaction at all after that brief flash.
What Robus did instead was to raise his arm that had the wolf clamping down hard on it and moved his other arm so that he could grab the wolf by its neck.
And a grab on the neck by a huge gorilla four times the size of your body was certainly not something that the wolves could afford since the former could basically break the latter’s bones by gripping hard enough.
.....
So the moment the other wolves realized that one of their pack member’s attacks had failed and Robus tried to attack it, the other wolves quickly moved into action as they lunged at Robus’ other arm that was aiming to grab the wolf and used their weight to pull it down and change its target.
The wolf that was initially hanging onto Robus’ arm also noticed what happened and quickly used the opportunity that the other wolves had given it to release its tightened grip on Robus’ arm and save itself from being crushed to death by a huge palm.
Seeing that the wolf’s formation starting to break down due to their attempt to save one of their kin, Blake was more than ready to cast a spell at the perfect moment, which was when the wolves tried to regroup themselves, and his hand was already floating in front of him, ready to draw the spells needed to catch them off guard.
However, he certainly didn’t expect that when he saw what happened in front of his eyes that the wolves’ next move wasn’t retreating and reforming their formation.
What the wolves did instead, was they all suddenly charged back towards Robus’ huge body, including the one that had just been saved from Robus’ other hand.
This time, it came from a different angle from the others and bit onto Robus’ thigh.
One other wolf who also had been waiting patiently while the other two had attacked Robus’ arm also jumped forward and bit its mouth onto Robus’ other thigh.
Then as if the four of them had done it more than just several times, the sparks in their bodies all synchronized and they all gathered respectively at their mouths, the exact same thing that the first wolf did in its attack.
Blake already knew from seeing what happened earlier that the wolf attack didn’t work at Robus.
But now that he saw four wolves doing it, Blake started to doubt whether Robus would be able to get out unscathed again.
And his worry increased even more as the moment the sparks of electricity from the 4 wolves finished gathering in their mouths and they simultaneously moved onto Robus’ body, a significantly brighter flash of sparks appeared on Robus’ body.
They all behaved exactly like the first spark of electricity that the first wolf sent, moving all over Robus’ body from head to toe before disappearing into the ground.
Blake saw all this happen with his own two eyes and he still couldn’t see the electricity’s movement on Robus’ body due to how fast it moved.
However, even with his naked eyes, Blake knew that the attack that just happened was several times stronger than the first attack as a flash of light so bright that made Blake reflexively closed his eyes for a split second happened the moment the flash traveled to Robus’ body.
And Blake seemed to have the right guess. As this time, he could see something visibly happening to Robus.
After the flash disappeared, Blake could see Robus literally frozen in place as his whole body suddenly stopped moving.
The wolves, who were responsible for releasing the sparks of electricity toward Robus were certainly unaffected by their own attack.
And in the next moment, the four of them quickly released their grip on Robus’ body the moment the huge gorilla was paralyzed in place as if they had waited for this exact reaction to happen.
Then with great coordination, the four wolves all attacked one spot in Robus’ tough armor in succession.
One wolf jumped up high and bit Robus’ head, which was also covered by the dark earth armor.
And once the first wolf fell back down, one other wolf had already jumped and attacked the same exact place as the first wolf.
The wolves knew that they needed to get rid of the dark earth armor first if they wanted to do real damage to the giant four times their own size.
And knowing that one of them was not enough to do it, they all resorted to doing this strategy where they all tried to attack the same spot again and again until the armor broke off.
But the armor proved to be harder than expected as even with the second wolf biting the armor as hard as it could, a small crack the size of the sharp point of their teeth was all they could get.
And the toughness of the armor wasn’t the only thing that the wolves got wrong as the moment the third wolf was already jumping to bite at Robus’ head again, Robus suddenly regained control of his body and his right hand flew from its current place and instantaneously snatched the jumping wolf from mid-air.
But he wasn’t done.
Seeing the wolves that had tried to bite his face off for the past five seconds, Robus didn’t have a plan to let them off easily as he rotated his hips and put the momentum to his right foot, which was right next to the second wolf who had just landed on the ground and sent his foot flying towards the second wolf.
All four wolves were caught off guard by how fast Robus could regain control of his body.
But the wolves who took the brunt of their carelessness and miscalculation were the second and third wolves.
The third wolf was grabbed by its spine and got it crushed as hard as Robus’ grip could while the second wolf took a direct kick to its ribs from Robus as its body flew a few meters away from its current location.
The first and the fourth wolf were seemingly left unscathed as they were fortunate enough that they had time to get some distance away from the huge gorilla when it suddenly was able to move again.
However, little did they expect that in that one second they watched their kin get brutally wounded, a certain humanoid demon had also finished drawing two sets of familiar demonic runes.
And the two sets of runes were aimed at none other than them, the two remaining unscathed wolves.
