Chapter 53 - Organ Expert

Chapter 53 - Organ Expert

"Hmm, maybe it was Azell."

"Eh?" Lecia froze right then and there.

Looks like she hadn't expected me to say his name.

"I'm not sure if it was him, but if it's for those he cares about, then he would kill millions."

Probably.

"R-really?" A sheepish grin appeared on her face.

Hot damn, has she already fallen. for him? This is going to be fun.

However, she could just confirm from him directly, in which case everything could go to shit.

But let's refuse to learn anything from my past mistakes. I'm sure it'll… turn out well.

"Actually, I had informed him that your father had stirred up trouble at the guild today. Maybe he snapped and, you know." I swiped my thumb across my neck.

"I see… hehehe."

Oh look, a psychopath.

"Anyway, don't ask him directly. I doubt he wants to reveal something like that."

"Okay!" She vigorously nodded.

"Anyway, sleep for now. Bye."

"Bye." She waved at me dazedly.

I left her room and arrived at mine.

Wheew, that sure was tiring. I hope I don't have to go through something like that again, for which I would have to stop playing my epic pranks.

Hmmm…

Absolutely not!

Anyway, time to create some new organs for myself.

??????

Someone knocked on my door.

Finally, someone who has the decency to not just waltz into my room. I sure hope Noelle learns something from them.

"Come in."

The door opened and Neia and Arteria walked in, then they immediately stopped in their tracks.

"What the hell have you done to your room?" Arteria looked around.

"I… renovated it a bit."

"That's quite the renovation you've done there." Arteria raised her eyebrows as she stared at all the equipment placed around the room.

There were lots of beakers and flasks, some basic raw materials and tools, and a lot of chemicals.

There was also some advanced equipment, like a highly accurate weight measurer. There were other fantasy-like things as well.

However, on the table were my main apparatus; a microscope, some test tubes and flasks, and two injections. These were the only things I was going to need for today's experiment.

"So, why did you call us here?" Neia asked me after she was done marvelling at my spectacular room.

"I just need your blood samples."

Around 100 ml of blood from each should suffice.

"Why?" Arteria raised her eyebrow.

I suppose she wasn't too keen on being an experimental subject.

Like bruh.

It's not like I'm going to just tie her to a table and start dissecting her as she screams in agony; that's just wrong.

I'm going to sedate her first I mean just take some of her blood to develop some new things like every normal researcher would.

"I have some theories in my mind and I want to test them out. Your blood is required as a catalyst."

"Hmm…" She continued to scowl at me.

"Oh come on, it's no big deal." Neia chided her and stepped forward. "Here take as much blood as you want."

I picked up a huge ass bucket lying at my feet and pointed to it, "You just need to fill this to the brim."

"Eh?" Neia involuntarily took a step back.

"Just kidding, just kidding, I obviously don't need that much." I put the bucket away.

Did she think I was serious? Get pranked, big gurl.

"O-oh…" She heaved a sigh of relief.

"Have a seat." I pointed to the stool in front of me and Neia complied. "Now give me your right arm."

Now, according to my database on Dragons, the circulatory system of Dragons in their humanoid form is rather similar to a human's.

So I took her right arm, applied pressure on her upper arm and inserted the needle in her bulging vein.

The needle was connected to a thin pipe which ended up in a flask. Within a few moments, fresh crimson blood (yes their blood is also red) started pouring into the flask.

Daayum.

Neia handled the entire process like a champ; she didn't even flinch when I pricked her with the needle.

After filling the flask up to the 100 ml mark, I took the needle out and threw it in the trash can. .

I obviously couldn't use the same needles for both of them; I'm a responsible researcher who cares for his subjects.

I also don't want to contaminate either of their blood.

"It's your turn, unless you're scared of needles." I turned to Arteria who had been observing wordlessly till now.

Also, I said that as a joke but I'd seriously jump out of this window if that was indeed the case.

"Ha! Me and scared?" Arteria scoffed.

Oh. No jumping out of windows today, I guess. Sad.

Neia stood up and Arteria took her place. I repeated the same process and collected about 100 ml of her blood.

According to my calculations, that amount should be enough to get the cells I need.

"What are you going to do with it?" Arteria asked.

"Yeah, what's the theory you have in your mind?" Neia also chimed in.

By the way, both of their wounds from the needle prick had already healed. As expected of their superior regenerative capabilities.

"It's related to your body's healing capabilities as well as a Dragon's Mana Transfer process. I need to verify some conjectures regarding them."

"..."

"..."

Both of their eyes shot open and they stared at me just like a cashier would when the tall man wearing a huge coat at the register turned out to be a bunch of raccoons in an off-the-rack coat.

"If what I'm thinking is correct, I could, to a certain extent, replicate those abilities."

By creating a new heart for myself. To be more precise, I'll create a Dragon-Vampire hybrid heart.

"That's… quite the research you are conducting." Neia slowly nodded.

Hmm, looks like they didn't expect me to do something so advanced right off the bat.

Like what, is this your first time a 12-year-old child has shown knowledge far greater than what he should possess?

It probably is; I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

Which makes me wonder; isn't this going to make them suspicious of me? Like, what kind of child knows about these things?

In hindsight, revealing my theories to them wasn't the most tactical decision on my part.

But hey, I like living on the edge.

"Research and Development is my forte." I smiled.

Wait, now that I think about it, shouldn't my job be creating potions, weapons and other general things?

Yet here I am, researching a Dragon's Mana Flow and a Vampire's Regeneration to create a new organ (the reason for which lies in some of their cells).

"I see." Neia stiffly nodded.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I need to work while the blood is still fresh. For the time being, drink a lot of water and eat iron rich foods."

"Alright."

"Roger. Good luck on your research."

"Thank you."

With that, they left- scurried off, actually.

Now, let's proceed to the real thing.

The cell division limit of Vampire is way higher than a normal human's, and their body also has a way of getting rid of cells that cannot divide any further.

On the other hand, in the Dragon's blood flows the Meurocraprix Blood Cell (MBC), or as some call it, the Mana Blood Cell. It literally carries Mana from the heart to the other cells, so in a Dragon's case, their entire blood vessel system is a Mana Circuit.

Then there's the fact that their blood is rich with fast acting Stem Cells that swiftly repair any damaged tissues or organs.

These are just some of the things that make them special.

Now, time to get those cells. Centrifugation should work just fine.

I have already set up the Mana Formations to stimulate and manipulate the cells to divide and form a hybrid heart.

Some formations are there to modify the genetic makeup of the heart to make it compatible with my body, and to also keep it alive and beating.

It all sounds so easy but is so incredibly difficult that I doubt I'll succeed in achieving it anytime soon, especially because the apparatus I have on hand is technologically limited.

Anyway, time to work.
