Chapter 918 T.D.O.N.B: S15C, Part III - Sander's Anger Issues
It was obviously marting, walking slowly towards the group despite spells crashing everywhere around him. He didn't care at all. Just walked ahead, letting the electricity lick his whole metal body, jumping often to the ground, and spreading those moving blue spiderwebs with each his move.
Ahead was Hailwic, already charging with the axe. Her armor was shining with glyphs, leaving marks on the ground as she ran. Blue light, which seemed to be coming directly from the ground.
She leaped forward, targeting the fire mage, but was blocked by two warriors who met her midair, swinging their swords. The attacks were so strong, that despite being deflected, they cut through the already trashed plaza below, creating deep cuts.
She responded with her axe, swinging even stronger, but they managed to pray each strike with a burst of orange sparks. Each of those hits left a mark on their weapons. then she had to defend once again, swiftly blocking each attack.
Since it was two of them, and they timed their swings very well, she couldn't help but focus on parrying. In such a way, they landed on the ground. She jumped back immediately, and a chuckle left her mouth. Then the marks hummed briefly and exploded.
Just like every other mark she left. A cloud of dust raised, obscuring the battlefield, but the fire mage got rid of it with some wind, just to uncover Martin. He wasn't walking anymore. He was running, sending tremors with each step, and accelerating rapidly.
Hailwic did her best to immediately engage the two warriors. Despite taking a powerful blow, they were still standing. Their blades were damaged, but far from being unusable. One used some telekinesis powers to slow her down, so she had problems keeping up with the two of them. The second clearly fished for an opening to deliver a devastating blow of some kind.
Then Martin reached the brawl. It was hard not to notice him with all the ruckus he has made, so they were ready, but I guess not entirely since what happened next did happen.
He reached on, rising his fist to strike from above. The fool tried to parry that attack, and then the punch just smashed him into the ground creating a crater and rising the dust again. Her companion couldn't help, entirely blocked by Hailwic, so Martin punched once more, and more, and more. After each strike, a bolt of lighting came falling down
But it wasn't the only electricity in the air. Further away, in the spot where the guardians who threw all those spells, and laser beams, were standing was a true storm raging. Festival of lights.
It looked so grotesque because the sky was so clear, thanks to Will's skill. All the electrical dragons, raging around, and wild tigers, leaping from spot to spot, made the spellcasters have their hands busy, defending themselves from a single man. A samurai, who was so fast, that they couldn't keep up with him.
The real reason wasn't actually the speed itself. It was the unpredictability of where he will appear again, striking with his sword.
Then the ice tomb shattered, spraying the already melting shards around, and spraying the water which very fast was turning into steam. Nil freed himself, and he was pissed. A series of punches came flying at the mage immediately when he spotted him. The guys were already in a bad shape but did rise additional protection. That, though, was nothing for the raging Sanders.
Each bunch, made the ground erupt with frames, reaching over a dozen meters high, only adding to that length, as they accumulated. He was blasting the guardian like a punching bag in a gym. Blow after blow, only increasing the hit that was already melting the nearby stone and dirt.
It derailed so fast, that the temperature in the vicinity started to be too high; also depleted of oxygen. The others had no other choice but to flee. Sanders, though, didn't stop. What he unleashed eventually I can describe only as: if a plane had a jet engine designed to push it out of its orbit. That's what happened.
It completely changed the direction where the fight was going. Yes, we were winning it, but the cost was very, very high. Too high to sustain this for much longer.
But after the incident, everything became quiet. People weren't fighting anymore, because they had to flee as far away as possible.
Even I, despite the distance, felt uncomfortable as the stone plates, or rather what was left of them, started to melt under my feet. I was in the middle of the process of consuming the fruit, so I couldn't stop, despite the fact that there was nothing to breathe with.
If all the beings around weren't as powerful as they were, they would simply die because the air would be sucked out of their lungs, making them collapse, but we all were who we were, and could fight with the natural physical forces.
As soon as both us, and the guardians, left the area of immediate danger, which was the whole plaza, the fight restarted itself. This time, though, spread wider around, as different people chose different directions to escape.
The noise of explosions returned, and the ground started to shake once again. It accelerated the process of my sinking deeper into the lava. Why? I couldn't use my skills while eating the fruit.
