Chapter 877 T.D.O.N.B: The Interrogation
Up there was a bedroom. The massive bed was on the right with a door probably leading to a bathroom. On the left was a desk, put on the wall, with a laptop on and some papers - clearly the place where he worked at.
He went there to put down the flash drive. Meanwhile, I transformed. Then Blue turned around, and his eyes went wide as he noticed me standing there. I didn't give him the room to act, instead grabbed him tightly with my 'Telekinesis', making sure to block his mouth too.
- Wondering who I am? - I asked him, slowly walking a bit further inside.
I passed next to him, as his bones started to snap. His face morphed getting longer, while the lips got pulled back revealing the teeth that started to get longer too, also sharper. He was taking his werewolf form, probably thinking it would allow him to free himself.
I grabbed the chair which was by the desk, then pulled it to have a seat in front of blue as he struggled, now in his full werewolf form, to escape my grasp.
- You used to know very well who I am - I informed him. - Name's Peter. We had a lot of beef. You fucked me over. Killed a very important to me person. He was a good man. I tried to kill you in exchange... Yeah... A lot has happened, but in the end, you stepped back to the shadows, while I got more light. At least until Ixa tried to use me as bait. She cleared your memories. Just like everybody else's too.
Blue couldn't say a thing, but he growled at me.
- You know... At first, I thought I'll just pop in, rip your heart out, then watch you die before burning your corpse, just to be sure, but now, when I'm already here... It's hard not to talk. I'm enjoying myself right now very much - I smiled at him. - I'm gonna get the closure I wished so badly for without even knowing.
Then I went siled, watching as he struggled. A moment has passed.
- I would free your mouth, so we could talk, but you are going to scream for help, don't you? - I asked him, despite knowing the answer. - I'm not even worried about that, because I can easily kill anybody here. And by here I mean in this city. But why should they pay for your sins? They are innocent. On the other hand... There is no need for us to stay here.
As the thought hit me, I stood up, dropping an anchor, then approached him. I touched him and then took us both to Loistavadvaar. It surprised him hard enough that he didn't say a thing despite the fact that I stopped blocking his mouth.
- It's Loistavadvaar. A place you don't know about. On the other hand, you weren't supposed to know about the seed, and you somehow did steal it, so... Who told you? - I asked putting on a fake smile while walking away a little bit, to make some distance between us.
- So that's what this is about, the seed? Shouldn't it be William's problem? I know you are his friend, but I'm actually surprised you are this strong. I thought you are some no-name who survived, but I was clearly wrong. You are strong. Strong enough to overpower me. That's really impressive - he said to me.
Despite the situation, he seemed calm. I could see through the facade. I knew that he tried to come out this way, so I would wonder, lose my focus thinking about why he believes, that he is actually fine, despite the situation.
- I explained, didn't I? I guess you didn't believe it. Doesn't matter. Answer my question - I said.
- Why should I? - he asked in exchange.
- Because then I'll consider letting you go. Doesn't that sound nice? - I shrugged my shoulders.
- You didn't would like you wanted to let me go at the beginning of this conversation - he pointed out.
- Then I remembered about you stealing the seed. The seed you shouldn't know about, and yet you did. How? Who told you? - I asked again.
- I have a lot of ears in Arc - he assured me.
- Nope. Don't believe you got this from any of your little spies. You got this from somewhere else. Tell me, I'll let you go and instead go after the other guy - I said.
He laughed out loud, showing me the rows of his sharp teeth.
- It was Will who told me about the seed - he lied.
I snorted.
- At least come up with a good lie, before trying to feed me some bullshit - I rolled my eyes.
- Why do you think this is a lie? It's the truth - he argued.
- Yeah. Whatever. I guess you really want to die - I said, then started getting closer to him again.
There simply was no way Will would do something like that. He knew the stakes. He knew everything. I was confident it was a blunt lie.
- Wait - he said when I arrived right in front of him. - Fine. It wasn't Will. It was somebody else.
I snorted, shaking my head, before walking a little bit away once again.
- Talk - I told him.
- I don't know who it was. I got an anonymous message - he confessed.
- I'm afraid you will need to come up with something better because that's not enough to save your ass - I informed him.
- I really don't know! - he growled at me. - I'm telling the truth! The message was anonymous, but it told me the location of the seed and how it functions. That's all.
- How did you get it? - I asked rising my eyebrows.
- I got a letter - he replied without hesitation.
- A letter? From who?
- I don't know. It was printed on paper and put inside a regular, blank envelope - he explained.
- It was planted in your place? - I kept asking.
- No. It was delivered - he said.
I immediately smiled. This time I actually wasn't sure if he was lying. There was a high chance he was, but since the guy was gonna die anyway, there was no need not to follow the thread, to at least attempt to find the traitor.
