Chapter 296
I suspected another deadly spell, that would make my body cramp, and stop my movement, but instead, something else happened. The boss started humming a melody, and from the fog emerged skeleton soldiers I fought at the beginning of my exploration.
They didn't even properly climb their way from wherever they came before they started swinging at me. I had to maneuver around, trying to make my way to the boss, but then the fog thickened in front of me, formulating a wall, and a giant black knight, one of those I fought before entering this chamber, emerged from it, trying to catch me.
That was not the only one, as the chamber got filled with different types of creatures from the tomb. Mages started casting their ice spells, forcing me to deal with them first, as the boss seemed to be too focused on the humming.
I shadow walked several times to avoid needless confrontation and made it to one of several groups. I destroyed them with few swings, which made me notice something. Those were not leaving crystals behind, but instead were collapsing in piles of bones.
In few minutes I cleared all the mages, but they didn't stop emerging from the food, and before I knew it, I had the same problem as just a moment ago.
- Fuck - escaped my mouth, and I shadow walked again, this time ignoring everything, but the boss.
I made it close, just to be stopped by the giant sword of a black knight, that fell in front of me. The soldiers rushed to surround their master, and protect him from me.
I got myself tied in an exchange of blows before I managed to create some distance by shadow walking. This made me threw few bolts of fire since I couldn't get close enough, but those only hit the skeletons, eager to sacrifice themselves for their creator. Not to mention the magic wasn't even strong enough to that.
The situation was difficult since I couldn't eliminate him, and also had to really focus on avoiding everything that was trying to kill me. I tried to think about a solution, but nothing was popping up in my mind. Which was leaving only one option. War of attrition.
Whatever the boss was, he couldn't continue his summoning endlessly, so I just started swinging, cutting my way towards the most annoying mages, yet again.
Overall it took around an hour before I noticed a stop to the endless flood of skeletons, both soldiers and mages, and also the black knights. Then I finally got to that asshole and surprisingly easily managed to cut him down.
At the end, I was tired and had to actually fight to catch a breath. I just collapsed on my ass and was gasping for air. Whatever the boss did at the beginning of the fight drastically limited my normally incredible vitality. I made mental note to check in the device if it's not something I have to fix using points.

I felt like somebody just beat the shit out of me, but I only had few minor scratches from the fight. My skin was really tough. I picked the stone and made my way to Ki'rai, then I send shadows to collect the rest.
This time again she wanted to know how each battle went, so I described everything to her, taking the time to rest some more. When I finished we gathered the backpacks in one place, and I shadow walked back to the city, to sell the score. She waited in the room for my return.
I earned 4 065 000 points and immediately checked my status to see that I was under the effect of 'life drain'. Whatever it meant. Getting rid of the status was 15k but before I did that, I tried a different method, which was using my skill - 'Clensing'. It didn't work, so I had to spend points.
I immediately felt a surge of energy I can only compare to the blood returning to a numb limb. There was this cold sensation that just overflowed me. I thought that I might also have hypothermia from the battle with frost mages, but I didn't. Probably my body dealt with that on its own. I also quickly checked the classes, and I gained an access to the new one, the 'Necromancer'.
Feeling better I returned to Ki'rai, and we traveled to the lizardfolk settlement. The fight was tough, but I managed to pull it off. I even managed to kill the boss relatively easily, as I now knew all the tricks.
We made it again back to the city. This time, though, selling wasn't as easy, as I had to stand in line, and wait for my turn. I earned 1 881 600 more points, bought new pair of shoes, as good as I possibly could, new clothes, and then went to take a bath and relax. From there I swung by the cafeteria and brought Ki'rei some warm food.
While she was eating, I went to the pub to have a beer. It was very crowded with all the hunters. We were slowly making a functional society here. I wondered how would the clash between what we have here, and earth look like.
Would we bring the technology and weapons? Or would we try to preserve what we managed to create?
After my mug was empty, I went back, swinging by the device to get some food before going to sleep. It was kinda annoying that Ki'rai had to keep hiding in my room and just couldn't walk with me. I wanted to change it.
After returning the bowl for her I finally went to sleep.
The long day came to an end with 11 510 240 points remaining on my account, and four class points.
