Chapter 335 - I Trust You
Zero addressed Ebony and Anastasia. "Thank you so much, ladies for saving my life! I appreciated it very much from the bottom of my heart. If one day we shall meet again and you will need my help, I will never hesitate to extend my help to you. Once again, thank you so much!" he said in a grateful voice.
Ebony smiled. "Don't mention it. Anastasia and I were glad to help you in anyway we can. Likewise if you need our expertise again, we are are willing to extend the same help to you in the future," she replied.
Zero smiled. "Thank you!"
It's now time for Nini to say what's on her mind. "Thank you, girls! You're so kind and supportive to me during these past few days that I'm really down in spirit. You lift me up and cheer me during my darkest moment when my husband's life is hanging by a thread. You're amazing people! It's my fortune that I met such kind people like you in my life. Once again, thank you very much for allowing us to stay here and welcome us like were a family member. I'm forever grateful for your help and generosity," she said and gave each woman a quick hug as a sign of her appreciation.
Ebony patted Nini's back, her brows knitted together. "You take care of your health... there's something not right with your body," she commented.
Menedelia, Zero, and Nini looked at each other.
Menedelia addressed everyone. "Alright, we're leaving now. Everyone will meet again soon before the world ends," she joked.
Anastasia snickered.
The rest laughed with the seemingly obscure joke.
Time to leave.
The trio vanished from the living room, teleporting themselves back into the Helix Vanguard Clan's vast property.
A moment later.
They landed in the living room.
Tony, Evelyn, and Aron were waiting patiently for the couple's arrival.
The mother and daughter hugged each other.
"Mom, I'm scared... I thought my husband will die in my hands!" Nini said, breaking down in her mother's arms. She still can't get over the guilt of trying to kill her husband on the eve of their wedding day.
"Shh... calm down... it's okay... he's safe now. It's never your fault, you're manipulated by an evil being," Evelyn said, trying to console her daughter. "Let's go upstairs, so that we can talk and you can take your rest," she said.
The women climbed the stairs.
Tony looked at his son-in-law and inspected his body. "You're okay, son?"
"I hope you're no longer in pain, bro," Aron said.
Zero grinned. "Ah, there will be scars for sure but I considered them as love tokens from my wife," he said cheekily to liven up the gloomy atmosphere and put everyone at ease.
They all laughed at Zero's joke.
Tony patted his back. "I never regretted choosing you as my daughter's husband. You're simply wort it!" he said and lowered himself on the couch.
Zero seated himself. "Um...I'm deeply sorry about Angela..." he said. "I'll help you find her," he offered his service.
"Thanks, son! Right now, I need all the help I can get because there is no lead so far. Me and my men are still trying to figure out where that mysterious guy hides Angela..." he said in despair.
Silence engulfed the men for a moment.
Meanwhile...
Upstairs, at Nini's room.
Teary-eyed, Evelyn looked at her daughter sleeping peacefully in the bed.
Menedelia recalled the mother and daughter's heartbreaking scene earlier when they were discussing Angela, their cries were deafening.
Evelyn released a deep sigh, she looked at Menedelia. "Granny, let's go to the terrace. I need to breath some fresh air," she said.
The women left Nini's room and went to the terrace. They lowered themselves on the couch and enjoyed the windy atmosphere.
Evelyn looked at her companion. "My husband already give me permission to travel tomorrow. I told him that I will be gone for a week to visit my parents house," she said.
"What time tomorrow?" Menedelia asked.
"Wait for me at the town plaza in front of the church, I will pick you up there at 2:00 in the afternoon," Evelyn said.
Menedelia nodded her head and replied, "Okay, see you there tomorrow."
Silence engulfed them for a moment.
"Um... can I take my leave now, my lady? I have to do some preparation for our mission," Menedelia asked.
"Yeah, you can leave now, but don't forget to return later, before 6:00 for dinner," Evelyn reminded her.
"Okay, see you later, my lady!" Menedelia said. "I'll take my leave now."
Menedelia left the terrace and teleported back to the forest.
When she appeared inside the hut and went to Rebecca's room, the pregnant woman was sleeping soundly in the bed.
She went to her room.
Inside the room.
She went to the wooden cabinet and removed the candles, and placed them on the table.
She stared at the candles for a long time. They have their uses. Since she's not that powerful yet, she will need Rebecca's help.
She put the three candles in position, creating a triangle. Then she put the biggest candle in the center. She put the rest of the candles back in the closet and picked up a pen and piece of paper from the drawer of the table.
She wrote down the spells to make it easier for Rebecca to recite.
Done, she placed the candle on the top of the paper so that it won't fly away. She left the house to buy things from the market which are needed for the ritual.
One hour later.
Rebecca was watering the plants outside when Menedelia returned.
"Granny, did you come from the market?" Rebecca inquired about her purchases.
"Yeah, I went to the market to buy something..." Menedelia replied.
Rebecca's brows furrowed. "We went to the market yesterday, did you forgot to buy something?" she asked.
"Ah, these things I bought from the market will be used for the ritual. I'm going on a mission to help a dear friend of mine rescue her daughter from the clutches of evil. I need your help," Menedelia said.
"Okay. No problem, I'll just finish watering the rest of the plants," Rebecca said.
"I'll wait for you in my room," Menedelia said. She went to the backyard first and put the three roosters inside the cage. Done, she entered the house and put the rest of the materials in her room.
She lined up everything on the floor.
A few minutes later.
Rebecca entered the room and looked at the objects lined up on the floor. There's a knife, incense, silver goblet, silver basin, green amulets made from woods, and others. "What are these things?" she asked curiously.
"Sit down. I'll explain each of their purposes so that you will know what to do with them at the right time," Menedelia stated.
Rebecca sighed. "Why don't you bring me with you? So that I can help you rescue the missing girl, instead of resorting to these tricks," she said.
Menedelia sighed. "If you're not pregnant I won't refuse your offer. But as you can see, you're pregnant and bad things can happen out there. I don't want to put your life and the twins in danger. This is the safest way that you can help me," she explained.
Rebecca lowered herself on the chair. "Alright, start explaining now, Granny. I'll listen to everything you say and just ask question later."
Menedelia smiled. "Good girl!" she said. "Alright, let's get started!"
She began explaining everything to Rebecca slowly and clearly.
They spent the rest of the afternoon discussing Menedelia's plan.
They finished at 5:30.
"Thanks for listening and asking questions, child. I hope you understand everything ," Menedelia said.
"Don't worry, I have everything covered," Rebecca assured her.
"I'll come here first before we will enter the place so that you can prepare yourself," Menedelia said.
"Much better!" Rebecca replied. "I'll go to my room to take a rest before cooking for dinner later."
"Just cook what you want to eat. I'm not going to eat dinner here. I need to go back to the capital to take care of something," Menedelia said.
"Okay," Rebecca nodded her head and left the room.
Menedelia set aside the objects in the corner and lay her body down on the bed to take a few minutes of rest before going back to the capital.
She shut her eyes and dozed off.
Half an hour later, Menedelia woke up.
She changed her attire and combed her hair.
A few minutes later, she left the room and teleported to the capital.
She landed outside the main door and entered the house.
Tony and her family were sitting on the couch along with Zero discussing the missing Angela.
"Good evening everyone!" Menedelia greeted them.
Nini rushed to Granny's side and made her sit beside her.
Evelyn rose to her feet. "Now that Grandma is already here, let's head to the dining room and enjoy our dinner," she said.
They rose to their feet and went to the dining room.
They ate diner in silence, occasionally chatting to each other.
Menedelia observed the people that gathered around the dining table. She didn't expect that one day she, will meet Evelyn's family and be able to mingle with them on such an intimate occasion as this one.
After dinner, they went back to the living room for chitchat.
Tony made an announcement. "Tomorrow, my dear wife Evelyn will visit her family in the next town. To put my mind at ease, I would like to request Granny Menedelia to accompany my wife to her hometown. Please accept my request, Granny..." he pleaded.
Everyone looked at Menedelia. She glanced at Evelyn who nodded her head. "Alright, it's my honor to escort Lady Evelyn to her parents house tomorrow," she finally agreed.
"Thank you for granting my request, Granny!" Tony said in a grateful voice.
Menedelia bowed her head. "I'm glad to be of service to your family, my lord!"
Fifteen minutes later.
Tony brought Granny to his study room. "Have a seat," he said and pointed to the chair.
Menedelia settled herself comfortably on the chair, wondering what are they going to talk about.
Tony took something from the drawer of the table. "This is for you as my token of appreciation for granting my request..." he said and put the pouch on her hand hands.
It's the pouch that Evelyn attempted to give to her. Sighing, she looked at him. "Thank you so much for this reward, my lord!"
"I will entrust my wife's safety in your hands, Grandma! Please take care of Evelyn for me," Tony said.
"I will!" Menedelia replied sincerely.
A few minutes later, Menedelia left the study room and walked into the hallway.
Evelyn had already taken a few steps to make things easier for her.
Menedelia sighed laboriously.
A moment later, she vanished from the hallway.
