Chapter 716 - Karizens Departure

Chapter 716 - Karizen's Departure

"Ah~ So surprising to see you here!" Karizen exclaimed before smiling at the man standing before him.

He had just been kicked out of Neo's house as soon as he had served his purpose there.

However, to his luck, he had come in contact with the very person for whom he had been tossed outside.

Asmodeus glanced at the Demon Lord who was the talk of the heavenly realm before tilting his head.

"You find me… Moving around this place to be… surprising?" He inquired with a sardonic tone.

This was the heavenly realm, not a place where a demon like him should be yet he claimed to be shocked to see the God who was in his rightful place.

Karizen did not mind his words because this was just how the Bird God he knew was.

Therefore, he only smiled at him which he knew was most certainly getting on Asmodeus's nerves.

Before the God could respond to the provocative smile, the Demon Lord did not give him any chance to do so.

"Worried that I'm going to snatch your friend away?" He whispered in an eerie tone that echoed in the other person's ears.

Asmodeus's eyes narrowed but before he could retort, the infuriating being from the Nether world had vanished from his sight.

'Tsk!' He glared at the spot where Karizen was last seen then turned around and left with a raging wind surrounding his entire body.

___

Appearing far away from the heavenly realm, the Demon Lord snickered as he had gained enough entertainment for today.

The only reason he had appeared at Neo's residence uninvited was to while away his time which had turned out to be extremely fruitful.

Not only did he watch that child they had met in the past and her plans for the future but he had also caught another interesting scene while doing so.

When he had sensed Asmodeus's aura heading towards his location, he had felt the concern and even animosity coming from him.

Since he already knew of the rocky relationship between them, he could have easily caused a problem right there if he had not made his move.

However, doing so would only end the drama all at once which was not something he wished for.

Through the years that he had existed, his joy came mostly from watching how events turned out with or without his interference.

Though he did like it better when he interfered like he had done today.

Asmodeus had thought that he was here for Yether and thus had left soon after.

However, things would have been different if he had realized that they had visited his world and even tried to mess with the natural order prevalent there.

Thanks to his efforts, the Bird God remained clueless to their interference which would work in Neo's favor.

'Though I saw something even better.' He added, recalling the concern that god had for Neo, who he declared his enemy a long time back.

He had some clues as to what might have taken place but was still ignorant about a major portion of their past.

Therefore, Asmodeus's actions today intrigued him due to his conflicting behavior.

The Bird God was worried when he appeared near Neo's house suddenly but left without even entering.

Later when he had chanced upon Asmodeus on his way out, his attempt to provoke the God had worked out as well.

'Looks like I should dig deeper to get better answers.' He decided before nodding his head but soon pouted.

He hadn't had his fill of entertainment yet was kicked out by Neo who did not want his old friend to be upset.

While he could have stuck around for longer, things might have become unfavorable for him.

An otherworldly being could only enter and stay inside the heavenly realm with the permission of its resident.

If Neo continued to oppose his presence then it would cause a diplomatic crisis as he was a Demon Lord refusing to leave the heavenly realm.

He might be powerful when compared to Neo and on par with Asmodeus but there was no way that he could win if the other gods combined their powers against him.

Not to mention that his demonic aura weakened every time he entered that holy place filled with pure godly energy.

Therefore, Karizen had chosen to leave when he was asked to, without causing problems for anyone.

'I wonder what my children are up to~?' He decided to head over to check on his little ones who were scattered in different places throughout this wide and outspread universe.

He was just about to make his way to the one closest to him when numerous voices echoed in his head.

"Lord! I beg you, please answer our prayers!"

"You promised to find a mate for our King!"

"I feel bad for our King who has been lonely for so many years…"

Three different voices but imploring regarding the same issue were heard loud and clear in his mind.

He did not have to ponder for more than a second as he already knew just who these babbling fools were.

"Those fools! Do they think that I am running a dating service here!?" His enraged voice boomed in the vacuum of nothingness that he had entered after leaving the heavenly realm.

His favorite son was a loner who could not get himself a wife so why were these fools trying to beg him to appear and solve this problem for them?

Being reminded of this, the Demon Lord began cursing his favorite child who could never learn even when he had been taught countless times about the beauty of women which should be admired and appreciated with a keen mind and also a glib tongue.

'Or even men. Father doesn't mind.' He added that he would be fine with either gender as long as he found himself a mate.

While he was deciding how to get rid of the fools begging him to find someone for his son, another voice reached his mind.

"Father!" A wail of sorrow echoed in his mind which made him freeze.

This was a voice he had not heard for a long time, making him distressed at the sudden painful cry from earlier.

"Bring my child back, Father! Bring her back!" The same voice cried out before disappearing altogether.

Karizen's playful appearance had faded the moment he heard the voice of a woman crying out to him.

His thoughts of causing chaos, seeking entertainment at the expense of others, and even cursing his favored son were all washed away.

The only thought present right now was to get to the bottom of what he had just heard.

Acting upon this thought, Karizen snapped his finger and rushed to the place where he could find the answers to the questions in his mind.

The Demon Lord thus did not care about any other matter as his mind was consumed with thoughts of his daughter's distressed cries.

Karizen did not know that he would soon be too busy to even think about visiting Neo and Asmodeus, leaving them to their own devices for the time being.

____

Back in the heavenly realm, Neo had just watched the interaction between Karizen and Asmodeus through the portal outside his window.

The Demon Lord left without creating a scene and the Bird God stomped his feet before leaving as well.

'Why are you so mad, Asmo? Don't you hate me?' The God of wisdom and knowledge questioned as he gazed at the departing back of the one who was once his closest friend in the whole wide world.

Sadly, he received no answers as Asmodeus was too far away from him.

Yether was in bed, Karizen had left their realm and was rushing to another one while Asmodeus was heading back to his home.

Therefore, no one was around to notice the sad smile that had formed on Neo's lips before he looked away from the portal and waved his hand, shutting the window entirely.

_____

While things were slightly chaotic in the other worlds filled with ethereal beings, Yvonne was sipping cold juice made from freshly-squeezed oranges to beat the approaching summer's heat.

"Understood?" She questioned after taking another long sip of her juice.

The chef had left the pulp in her glass on her request and the little girl was relishing this drink.

Though she did not like pulp in her favorite cocktail, the mimosa, she did not mind it now that she could not have alcohol at this young age.

Therefore, she chose to enjoy this variation of the ingredient used to prepare her favorite drink.
