Chapter 656 - Karizen, The Great Demon
Chapter 656 - Karizen, The Great Demon
Neo was more than surprised to see this person appearing here out of nowhere.
Karizen, the Great Demon known to be the current ruler of the netherworld, was not someone that anyone could just greet whenever they pleased.
The immortal being known for his might but even more so for his vanity and greed was the one standing before him right now.
Unlike Neo who was in his true appearance concealed under the hooded robes, Karizen had no qualms in possessing the body of any pitiful human who was literally willing to sell his soul to the Devil for worldly possessions.
The body he saw must be another such fool who had sold his soul to this Demon.
"You think too highly of me." Karizen chuckled when he heard the thoughts of this God.
Karizen wasn't a God like Neo and Asmodeus but he was an existence that was on par with them.
Certain worlds were created and looked after by Gods and similarly, a few others were under the control of Demons.
They had complete authority over these worlds and could do as they pleased with them.
Usually, Gods and demons created these worlds because they needed people to pray to them, look up to them, and keep them in their thoughts.
Narcissistic as it was, this was how they increased their power or maintained their presence, a proof of their existence.
However, it was an unspoken rule to not have the other interfere in their worlds.
Therefore, Neo was surprised to see Karizen, a Demon Lord appearing in a world that Asmodeus had created.
Karizen smiled when he saw that the God before him was lost in his thoughts but had not yet lowered his guard before him.
"You know that I can never harm you~" His teasing voice awoke Neo from his daze.
The God, of course, did not trust the Demon as they were two contradicting entities.
However, things weren't always divided into black and white among them.
Not all gods were good and not every demon was bad.
Yet there was obvious distrust between the two factions.
Karizen appearing here was enough to make Neo raise his guard against him but it looked like the Demon Lord did not mind.
"My vessel today might not be able to take your hits, you see." He revealed while tapping his cheek to prove his point.
As Neo had predicted, this was not Karizen's true form but a human's body he had chosen to act as his vessel for the day.
"He is one of my precious people so I would suggest we do not let things get physical." He added as a charming smile formed on his face.
Neo observed the man stepping towards him with vigilance clear in his eyes.
Thick black hair that fell over his forehead, something that was extremely uncommon for the people of this Kingdom was enough for Neo to assume that this human did not belong to this world altogether.
After all, Karizen could not interfere too much in matters concerning Gods and this was a world created by a God.
Therefore, the only explanation that he could come up with was that this human was from a world that belonged to the Demon Lord.
Karizen would have applauded his deduction skills as that was indeed the truth.
This human was one who had asked for a special favor from him and in return, promised to let the Demon Lord occupy his body whenever he pleased.
Demons were known to be vain creatures and that claim could be proven by taking a single glance at the human that Karizen had used as his vessel.
The thick black and unruly hair were all messy but it had its charm to it.
Features mesmerizing enough to make people wonder if he had just walked out of a brilliant painting that depicted a painter's imagination of what the perfect human being could look like.
The most striking aspect about him would be his eyes, the color of crimson blood, which sparkled and shimmered as though there was real blood swirling around in them.
Neo knew that while everything else belonged to the poor human being under the control of the Demon, this single feature belonged to Karizen.
Those bloody eyes were a part of his true appearance which he loved to put on display because they were just too mesmerizing to be hidden away.
The two men, one with eyes the shape of a snake's and the other, whose eyes looked like they would ooze blood in the next second, stared at each other without uttering another word.
If Yvonne were to be here to witness this scene, her eyes would most definitely be attracted to the vessel Karizen was using right now.
After all, Neo's face was concealed behind the hood of his robe and only Karizen's visage was noticeable.
{The perfect embodiment of Demon in human form.}
That would be the first thought that the girl would have if she were to see this scene.
Demon, her etcher, had similar features to Karizen's vessel.
Black fur with crimson eyes and a huge body ripped with muscles at every turn.
Thankfully, Yvonne wasn't here, as she most certainly would not be able to hold in her curiosity to get closer to the man who resembled a human version of her etcher.
The God and the Demon Lord were in a stalemate as they looked at each other.
Neo could not do anything even if he wanted as that might alert Asmodeus, not only of the Demon Lord's presence but also of his.
This was not something he had planned for, so all he could do was grit his teeth and ignore Karizen for now.
"I won't say a word. I swear!" The Demon Lord snickered when he saw that the God wasn't going to act against him anymore.
Karizen had been bored in his world as nothing worthwhile was taking place there.
He had Demon blood coursing through his veins and to think that his world was dwelling in peace and tranquility was making his skin itch.
His desire to cause chaos was quenched when he thought of his children who were trying to make that world a place with law and order.
He did not wish to wash away the efforts they were putting in to exist as they pleased.
Therefore, he had been scanning other worlds and universes to see where he might find the chaos that he so desired to witness.
It did not take him long to notice something interesting taking place in the Godly realm.
Even the beings of his realm knew about the conflict between two Gods, namely Asmodeus and Neopolene.
Finding Neo trying to enter the world created by the other God seemed worthy of his interest which was why he had made an appearance here.
If he wished to, then he could have remained in the shadows to watch the show from there but what would be the fun in that?
Since he cannot actively create trouble in the world belonging to a God, he might as well compromise by being an accomplice to another God in causing mischief.
Therefore, here he was, standing before Neo, waiting to see what he would do next.
Neo rolled his eyes at Karizen, whose face was dripping with excitement like a child going on a trip to the town with his friends.
He had wasted enough time here so he needed to finish his task and head out of here before Asmodeus noticed his presence.
"Don't get in my way!" He glowered at the Demon Lord before fixing his attention on what he had come here for.
Karizen raised his hands, proving that he would do as he was told, and stood next to Neo in silence.
Their eyes fell on the child whose head was still lowered and there was no sign of her sobbing coming to an end.
She had not yet noticed the two men standing before her and the only explanation was that their presence had been concealed from her.
Neo raised his hand but before he could complete what he was about to, Karizen clutched his hand to stop him.
"Won't that Bird notice your presence?" He inquired with a frown on his charming face.
In answer, Neo shrugged his hand away from the Demon Lord's grip before glaring at him.
"Yether is concealing my presence from this world." He revealed in a low tone.
Just earlier, he was about to cancel the spell over his body which would allow the child to notice him but Karizen was worried that this would alert the Bird God.
Thankfully, Neo had prepared for this in advance as he had ordered his disciple to make sure to use his skills of manipulation over this entire world.
Even when people could see him, they would not be able to perceive his presence.
This was also why no one had looked his way when he was walking among them in the town circle.
Understanding the detailed planning that Neo had made before coming over, Karizen was impressed and he gave him a nod of praise.
Neo did not care about his approval and turned his attention back to the child.
He waved his hand again and this time, Karizen did not stop him from doing so.
"Child?" Neo's gentle voice was heard in the alley where only sobs had been resonating for quite a while.
The child who had been called, flinched in fear as she slowly raised her head to look at who it was.
