Chapter 471 - The Signing Was Completed
Chapter 471 - The Signing Was Completed
Thus Yvonne's birthday came to an end with a lavish dinner that filled her to the brim.
She was grateful for the love and care she received from everyone and made sure to thank them once again for the presents she had obtained today.
Among all the presents that she had received, there was one which she had immediately fallen in love with.
"It suits you." Raylene had commented while pointing at the piece of jewelry wrapped around her daughter's wrist.
An oval-shaped sparkling black stone was the main attraction of the sleek silver bracelet.
The intricate design of the chain held the stone in place and due to its long length, Mrs. Jacinth had to wrap the bracelet around the little girl's hand twice before she could fix the latch.
It had been two days since her birthday and the little girl did not part from the bracelet that belonged to her deceased grandma Hannah.
Grandpa Valente smiled when he saw how much she liked the gift he had given to her and it was clear to everyone that he had won this year.
The child's favor had gone to the old man this year which only provoked the competitive blood coursing through their bodies to start preparing for next year right from this moment.
Today was the day that Yvonne had promised to return to the Hagen family to discuss the agreement between them.
Right now, they were waiting for the carriages to be prepared before they could leave the estate and head towards the place they had visited a week ago.
The same people would once again accompany Yvonne to meet the Hagens today.
Once breakfast had come to an end, the four children along with the two men boarded their carriages and waved goodbye to the people who would remain in the estate until they returned.
"Why didn't Paula accompany you?" Trisha Valente inquired as she knew how close the master and maid were before she married the Earl.
Raylene frowned when she heard the name of her former maid after a long time and decided to reveal the truth of the matter.
Thus, the two ladies and even Old man Valente walked back to the parlor where a somber conversation would soon take place.
On the other hand, the carriages were filled with energetic chatter as the children sat in Yvonne's carriage and the Earl with the Viscount sat in the other one.
In no time, they reached their destination where to their surprise, they found Leo Hagen, the son of the head of the family waiting for them outside the house.
The young man was not as hostile towards them this time and even greeted them before escorting them to the same place they held their meeting the last time.
They had made proper arrangements this time which allowed every member in Yvonne's group to be seated during their discussion.
On the opposite side, Yvonne found the three same men she had met last week.
Tim, Joe, and Leo were all present and had a serious look on their faces as they waited for someone to take the initiative to start the conversation.
'Let's get this over with.' Yvonne decided to make the first move as she stretched out her hand and offered the contract she had prepared with her father.
She remained silent and let the three men peruse the document and understand what she was offering to this through this contract.
Rutherford was calm as ever since he knew what was in the contract but Marcus was still worried about what might happen next.
"10% profit of all sales?" Leo looked up with surprise once he had read the last line of the contract.
In response, Yvonne nodded her head as everything in the contract will be implemented without fail.
Just as she had promised last week, the clauses mentioned were clear and did not hold any loopholes where she could exploit them nor did it have any hidden agenda to scam them.
The Hagens would sell the rights of the soap recipe in exchange for 10% of all profits gained and also have a say in the manufacturing process of the soaps.
They would be tasked with overseeing the entire process by being an active member in the production of soaps.
They could also suggest changes or improvements whose approval or rejection will depend on Yvonne's decision.
Their safety was also assigned to the Valente and St. Claire family who would not allow the Blaises to attack them in any way possible.
The most tempting of all the clauses was the 'Research Budget' that Yvonne added into the contract.
Once every three months, they would be assigned a said amount of capital which the Hagens could utilize to research and create new varieties of soap which they could sell according to the different seasons.
'A seasonal or limited edition product might be sold for a higher price.' Yvonne knew this very well and was prepared to use this to increase profits.
Tim glanced at his brother and his son after looking over the contract which was not only fair but also extremely profitable to them while allowing them to be included in their family's profession.
Yvonne was giving them a chance to get revenge on Earl Blaise, allowing them to return to the profession they loved the most, and also promised them the fair value of their recipe.
Everything was beyond their expectations and the men could not deny that they were tempted to sign right away.
However, the two elders looked at Leo who had made them promise that they would not accept right away.
Therefore, they waited to see his signal, and only then would they utter anything and sign anything.
"CLOVER?" Leo interrogated when he saw the name on the contract.
While the Hagen family was addressed as Party B on the contract, the place where the St. Claire or the Valente family should be addressed as Party A was nowhere to be found.
Instead, he found a new name present there which made him furrow his brows.
"A new business venture operated by my family." Rutherford finally spoke up and did not mention that it was Yvonne who was the owner of the company under the alias of VC.
He was speaking the truth as technically, this was a new venture and would be operated by Yvonne, his daughter, and one of the members of his family.
Marcus sneered at how he had twisted reality with a single statement but since it was to support the little girl, he did not expose the Earl.
This made Leo a little wary at first but realizing that the Earl had no reason to lie to them, he nodded his head slowly.
Going over the file one last time, he turned to his father and gave a subtle nod.
This signal brought joy to Tim's face as he nodded in hurry and signed without waiting for another second.
Joe was next and Leo was the last to place his signature on the contract.
Yvonne had made sure that all three of them would sign on this contract as she did not wish for any one of them to cause a fuss later, demanding for his share of the recipe or that the contract had been signed through unfair means.
Once the signing was completed, Tim brought out the soaps that he had prepared and even explained in full detail how he had managed to prepare them.
Listening to his words, Yvonne sneered after realizing something.
'Earl Blaise is selling those bars of soap at an exorbitant price but the recipe he is using is the cheapest way to make them.' She pursed her lips as he was extorting huge amounts when it was dirt cheap for him to prepare the same soap.
The brand name of the 'Blaises' was the only reason why he was hiking the prices to such an extent when his product wasn't even the best.
'It is the ONLY product in the market so others cannot help but purchase it even when he sells it at a high price.' She understood where things were going wrong.
The Blaises had a monopoly in the soap industry and no one could question them about their methods of business if they wished to continue buying from them.
'He is a sly one.' Yvonne applauded his ability to make the best of everything he had and squeeze it till he gets its worth.
