Chapter 141 - How Was The Meeting?

Chapter 141 - How Was The Meeting?

While Yvonne was attending her etiquette classes which had restarted after a short gap of two days, Demon was grazing in the field to his heart's desires.

The time that he had spent shut inside the cargo ship while being shipped to this Kingdom was a dark memory that he wished to keep locked up forever.

The green grass, the fresh breeze, and the warm rays of the sun were all that he wished to experience from now onwards.

He had been separated from his family yet he had found a new one thanks to the bond that he had formed with the little girl.

When he had first noticed her, he was making up his mind whether to scare her away or to flee from this place.

Sadly, none of those choices would have worked since neither did Yvonne fear the large beast nor did he wish to flee from her.

The moment she had touched him, he felt as though a barrier inside his body had been broken and something new had formed in its place.

The seal which had formed inside his body made him feel heavy protective instincts that had acted up when that other man had tried to get closer to his master.

This incident was when Demon had realized that he now had a master for whom he would do everything to keep her safe while he was around.

As he strode across the fields and roamed around the estate, he stopped at everything that was new and fascinating to him.

Butler Limo was directing the craftsmen towards the area of the stables when he noticed that odd behavior of the horse.

'He seems like an inquisitive child who is prodding everything that is new to him.' He surmised and then chuckled.

This was not the first etcher he had seen as his master had one as well so he wasn't as curious about the beast as the men who were with him.

Since they were mere servants, they did not have much knowledge about what an etcher was as this was privy only to the nobles.

Hence, in their minds, Demon was just a scary overfed horse who could not fit in the normal stables, resulting in them having to build a new one just for him.

When the etcher noticed their gazes, he leered at them and then grunted which caused these men to scurry and stumble as they made their way to the place of construction.

Inside her study room where she usually had her class, Yvonne chuckled when she heard the loud grunt of her adorable pet.

'Such a child! Must be throwing another tantrum!' She speculated and then went to the window.

There was only one window in the room which sadly displayed the front view of the house while Demon was in the backyard at this moment.

While Yvonne had failed to find her beast, she did find a carriage standing outside the entrance.

"Oh, so he must have arrived." She came to this conclusion and then turned around.

However, when she turned around she froze in her steps and then gulped.

"Yes, he has arrived." An oh so familiar sarcastic voice was heard in the room.

The man whom she had just spoken about was standing right before her eyes which made her jolt her shoulders in surprise.

"Haha… Marquess Samed, I see that you are right on time." She chuckled sheepishly while walking towards her seat.

Marquess Sullivan Samed glanced at her suspiciously before taking his usual seat on the other side of the table.

"Have I ever been late to our class, Miss St. Claire?" He questioned with his brows and chin raised in arrogance.

Yvonne stayed silent as she did not wish to answer that question as she had no such instances to speak about.

'Let us change this topic.' She decided and then coughed to clear her throat.

"So, how was the meeting with the King, Marquess?" She polled and then leaned forward.

Marquess Samed observed her body language and noticed that she was inquisitive of what had transpired between him and the Ruler.

Yvonne's fingers were interlocked and her elbows were fixed on her lap with her chin resting on her hands.

This would have looked extremely cool if she wasn't a child of five years and instead was someone with a more mature body.

'I can't wait to grow older!' She cried out as she straightened her body once again.

When Marquess Samed heard of her inquiry, he gulped hard and then took a sip from the glass of water placed on the table between them.

"I am sure that you did not mention anything about my involvement in the three-step plan." She prodded when she received no answer from him.

'I have a bad feeling about this!' She narrowed her eyes and leered at the man who sat with his lips sealed.

Sullivan knew that he had to let her know of what had taken place during his meeting with the King so he took a deep breath in and nodded at the child.

"That is great that you haven't mentioned my name in this matter!" Yvonne exclaimed and cheerfully clapped her hands to express her excitement.

'So I can stay away from the Royal family for longer!' She sighed and then relaxed the fist that had been clenched while she awaited his response.

The little girl had misunderstood his actions as his acceptance which was making things harder for the tutor to explain the truth of the matter.

'She seems overjoyed that King Ophire does not know about her involvement… Will she be mad if I say otherwise?' He wondered as his eyes stayed fixed on this student of his.

While Yvonne was celebrating her success, Marquess Samed was trying hard to figure out what his next step would be.

'Is remaining unnamed such a good thing that she looks so pleased with it?' He observed her behavior and could not help but sigh at this odd pupil of his.

"Yes, I did not mention your name in regards to the three-step plan that you had prepared." He lied with a straight face.

Getting the confirmation from her tutor, Yvonne was relieved and nodded her head in appreciation of what he had done for her.

'He lied to the King for my sake. Even when it was a crime worth capital punishment, he did it because I had asked him to.' She praised the brave man who had done such a brave feat for her sake.

However, the truth could not have been farther from what the Marquess had made it out to be.

'I did not lie to her per se…' Sullivan believed while avoiding those sparkling eyes which were gazing at him with appreciation and awe.

The Marquess had made sure to use his words in such a way that what he had said was not true yet not false at the same time.

He had kept his word of not speaking about Yvonne before the King so his nod was the truth.

Though he conveniently failed to mention that later on when the King had questioned him in private, he had sung the entire song as a canary would.

'Since King Ophire has promised to never reveal this matter to the public, she does not need to know about it.' He decided and thus lied to his student.

If being kept in the dark was bringing her happiness then he would not mind lying to her.
