Chapter 107 - Visiting A Village

Thalia's nose twitched, sniffed, and smelled a pleasant aroma coming from outside the carriage. When she finally opened her eyes, she saw Ellena cooking meat for their breakfast.

"Big Sister. Why didn't you wake me up to cook it for you?" she immediately asked and climbed off the carriage, rushing next to Ellena.

Ellena just raised her eyebrow and retorted to her question.

"I bought you to drive a carriage for me, not to be my cook. Didn't I?"

"But still... What's my use being a slave anyways?" she reluctantly responded with her two hands intertwined.

Ellena scoffed softly. "Silly. Stop being stubborn. Come here, the food is ready."

Thalia just nodded and started eating with her.

After their breakfast, they rested to digest their food and eventually continued the journey.

Just after they continued for the next 3 hours, the surroundings were just trees and all. When the scenery changes, it is just a cliff and the upper part of a mountain.

There are also different non-hostile animals, leaping across the path and trees. Also, I noticed the unique animals I saw just now. It seems too incomparable to Earth's since they have unique features that I don't know how to describe.

After 3 hours, a settlement became visible to us. The path also became more flattened and conditioned that no grass was present on the road.

"Big Sister, should we stop at this village?" Thalia asked as she noticed it was almost time for lunch.

Ellena peeked outside and saw the village nearby. She nodded and made Thalia move their way to stop at the village. When they got near the gate, they asked permission from the guards.

"Good morning, we are travelers on the way to Azmar. Can we stay here for a moment to rest?"

One of the guards looked at Thalia. He inspected her and the carriage and allowed them to enter the village.

Though there are no tolls to enter, they still needed to ask Thalia where they came from and their identities.

"I don't have identification. But my master has one."

Thalia looked at Ellena, who was inside the carriage.

"Ellena, why don't you use your special identification? It would be bothersome if they started to see your alias identification. " I suggested.

Well, I wasn't bothered by it in particular. It's just that this place is near Phlabian City, and that mysterious organization could track her to this village if this person remembers her name.

'Why should I?' Ellena asked with a dazed look.

I just explained my thoughts to her, and she nodded in agreement with my idea.

Ellena finally picked her special identification where a crest of the Lumbert Family is printed. Also, it was covered with a golden lining.

The village guard pondered looking at it. However, Thalia was surprised inside, widening her eyes and couldn't contain her surprise.

"B-Big Sister! You didn't tell me that you're a noble!" Thalia exclaimed in surprise.

The guard was also surprised but remained silent, just didn't bother their talk as he was in front of a noble he should not offend.

Oh... I love this ability to see auras. I can feel that he was a little agitated.

"Well, it wasn't necessary to mention. Sorry if I didn't tell you." Ellena said.

"It's okay, Big Sister. I was just not expecting you to be noble. I don't mean that in a bad way, but I thought you were just..."

"It's okay Thalia." Ellena cut. "Don't be bothered by it anymore." Then she snickered a little.

The guard in front already permitted them and saw the carriage enter the village. Even a slight dumbfounded look was painted on his face.

As the carriage entered, people slightly shifted their attention to it. But none of them was particularly dazed.

The village wasn't that big, but not too small. They seem to fit a total of 300 inhabitants, like an average village surrounded by trees.

The road was paved, but there was still a hint of bumpiness.

"B-Big Sister, there's an inn. Maybe they have a diner too." Thalia spoke up out of nowhere, pointing to a typical building that could accommodate 50 people.

Inn? Hm... So, this village must be accustomed to travelers. That's also why guards are patrolling near the gate.

"Let's stop there," Ellena said, making their way to the inn.

When they finally arrived, they entered the inn and creaking could be heard from the wooden floor. The building was elevated.

I looked more closely into the surroundings and saw the hint of age on the walls. This seems like a downgrade. But it's not bad, I'm just being judgmental. It's also tiring me out.

"Welcome customer. How can we help you?"

Ellena looked at the lady that approached them.

"Can we have lunch?"

"Of course. But the problem was that we were lacking meat. Can you wait for us to hunt one?" The lady asked.

"Is that's so? But I have some meat here. I don't mind sharing one."

The lady was surprised. Of course, no customer would be present to give their ingredients. even more, to an unknown village in the middle of a forest.

"Y-You're giving us an ingredient? If you can't wait... I understand. We will take the meat but we will deduct your price for the cooking only." The lady didn't bother to insist on not taking the meat. Well, if she's in the right mind, why would she decline such generosity?

It just depends if she tolerates this kind of attitude. I don't have anything against it.

Then, after it, they went straight to the kitchen. The kitchen was just an average kitchen. There was a sink, a cooking area, and a wide table in the middle.

"Please just put the meat here." she tapped the table.

Ellena nodded and opened her Inventory.. She took out the broaxen meat and placed it.
