Chapter 168 - Traitors
"You killed my father," Tang Reine asked Jin Jiren.
"Took you long enough to figure it out," He answered.
"You betrayed the royal family." Tang Reine just stared at him. " Do you even fear the consequences? "
"Tsk. Tsk. Royal family?" Jin Jiren glanced at Tang Reine as if he had heard a joke. Perhaps, he had. To him, the so-called royal family was nothing but a bunch of idiots trying to regain the glory of a once glorious and prideful crown. " It lost significance when the republic government was established in the country. Only you and your minions consider yourself royal."
Although Tang Reine\'s blood was boiling hearing him dissing the royal family and its supporters. He was a traitor who had backstabbed his Master and nothing else. He not only forgot the vow he had taken but also attempted to kill the current head of the royal family. Apart from Tang Reine\'s children, she was the last descendent of the royal blood and with her, the royal family will also come to an end. The glorious chapter of the Tang Empire would be finished if he managed to kill Tang Reine and her children.
Not only that, he was even more persistent to end Xin lineage, and why he wanted to do so was still a mystery to be unfolded but it was a talk of another time.
"Tang Reine, I will bring great honor to this mankind by killing a monster like you," said Jin Jiren. " They will worship me after I kill you!"
"Oh really?" Tang Reine casually leaned against the car and brought her hand to caress her baby bump as if in a taunt. "If I\'m a monster then what are you? "
Jin Jiren smiled devilishly at her. "Tang Reine, I have to admit, you have a talent where even I can\'t bring myself to defeat you. And do you know what\'s that is?"
"Of course, ending the dirty worms like you from the face of the earth," came the reply.
Tang Reine was behaving as if he hadn\'t held her daughter hostage under the point of his gun. She was behaving so casual, so relaxed that it was provoking and irritating him to no end.
Even though Tang Reine was relaxed and composed but Zhenyi who was watching the scene unfolding before her eyes, had her heart in her mouth. It was worse than a nightmare. She was hoping that maybe she was still in a deep slumber and watching her mom again was just a beautiful dream which was just ending in a horrendous nightmare.
Although, she knew it was not a possibility that she was asleep because the pain didn\'t follow you to your dreams. At least not this kind. Her body was in so dire pain that even she couldn\'t know how she was holding herself here. With every passing minute, her body was fading away but this time she didn\'t want to go back to her world just yet. She needed to see what would happen next.
She needed to save her mother. She couldn\'t lose her now that she found her. She was not a crybaby, but today she cried more than she should. She couldn\'t control herself. No matter how strong of a woman she was, she was still Zhenyi, her mama\'s daughter. She wanted to touch her, she wanted to hug her, she wanted -- no--needed her to see her.
She wanted to cry, she wanted to laugh and most of all she wanted to embrace the woman who was her mother in her arms and feel the feeling of what exactly was a mother\'s embrace.
Was she asking too much? No, she was not. Was it her fault? It was not. Why couldn\'t God allow her to save her mother? She had the skills to fight and she could defeat the few men left, then why couldn\'t she change the past?
"Jin Jiren, do you know what will history call you?" Tang Reine said, looking at his ugly face, and stepped forward. "No, you don\'t." Tang Reine self answered her question. She suddenly started laughing at him. "How naive of you! " She shook her head and one hand of her came to support her protruding baby bump. "Naive! So naive! " She kept walking towards him and then all of a sudden...
*Slasssh!*
A drop of blood fell on Zhenyi\'s face and white dress, her already dyed white gown was stained with blood even more. But this time she at least knew who the blood belongs to.
She blinked her eyes and wiped her face with her hand, and then her gaze fell on the red on her hand.
"Traitor!" Tang Reine\'s scream was heard. " The rats like you are called traitor! Not only, I, Tang Reine, will slaughter all the Jins from the Earth, but still also use you as the ultimate example of what would happen to the enemies of the Tang family."
The dagger in Tang Reine\'s hand which appeared out of nowhere was slashed in his skin once again. The young Zhenyi watched her mother killing the man who tried to held her hostage.
"You dared to *Slash* touch my *Slash* daughter!" She shoved the dagger into his throat this time. Her brown eyes were burning as hot as lava. The bloodthirsty look in her eyes was not hidden from anyone. It seemed she couldn\'t even remember that she was pregnant. " I told you that I don\'t tolerate betrayers, didn\'t I? Yet, you have the audacity to plot against me? My father gave you the great honor. Your family was loved by the people because of my father, but how did you choose to return his benevolence? By killing him."
With a single flip, she took out his armor and wrapped it around her lower body, evidently to keep the baby safe inside her womb.
