Chapter 629 - The Night Before The Welcoming Party(1)
Lear looked at the scene in front of him with a dumbfounded look on his face. He felt as if he had been struck by a thunderbolt. Nothing could make any sense to him at all.
Where was Lora? Where did this guy just appear from?
"When did you take her place?" Logan looked at Max with a grim look on his face. He seemed to have realized what was going on here.
Lear\'s ears perked on his words and he raised his head to look at Max with wide eyes.
"Well, pretty much since the beginning," Max said with a smirk on his face as he looked at Lear. "Isn\'t that right, Dear? I know you must have felt it too."
Lear\'s face turned dark and he immediately knew the moment that the exchange had taken place. And, when he thought about everything that had happened afterwards, his face turned pale.
"Uwwaahhh!" He couldn\'t hold it in and felt like puking. The mere thought of it made him feel disgusted. He just couldn\'t believe it.
Lear wiped his mouth and slowly raised his head to glare at Max once he was done puking. He clearly remembered this guy telling him that the day would be unforgettable. And, he finally realized the meaning behind it. This guy was definitely laughing at him inwardly from the very start.
"You…" Lear grinded his teeth in anger.
"Common, where is the love from earlier? Should I put this wig back on?" Max asked as he picked the wig from the ground below.
"You want me to kill you?" Lear asked with a menacing look on his eyes.
"Well, never mind." Max immediately threw it aside. He didn\'t want to piss the guy anymore. He was sure to have done more than enough to last a lifetime. Max could now just relax and use this to poke him for the rest of his life.
"Is Lora fine? You better explain everything to me." Lear glared at Max.
"It\'s a long story, but she sure is fine.." Max gave him a helpless smile.
…...
The night before the Welcoming Party….
"Hmmn?" Max looked at his phone. And, it turned out to be a call from Lear. A smile immediately leaked out on his face. He hadn\'t talked to the guy since the meeting at Roxley House where he had declared to the world about Lear\'s love.
"Hello.." He picked it up with a smile on his face.
"F*ck you!!! You Piece of Sh*t! I hope you to rot in he-"
Max immediately pulled the phone away from his ears, and let the guy scream as much as he wanted. It was better to let him get some load off of his chest.
A minute or so later, Max finally brought the phone closer and was speechless to find the guy still cursing him.
"Will you calm down? I actually did it all for you," Max said with a sigh, trying to be the one in right here.
"Don\'t try to fool me! You said you were preparing revenge! This had to be it!" Lear wasn\'t buying it. He was sure that it was deliberate action on his side.
"Tsk.." Max\'s expression soured a bit, seeing that the guy wasn\'t even willing to listen much less accept it.
"You didn\'t just click your tongue, did you?" Lear asked with a grim voice.
"You are hearing things. I didn\'t click anything. Besides, I really thought about your well-being when I made that decision." Max\'s voice was dripping with honesty and sincerity.
"Well-being my ass! Do you think I don\'t know you after all this time?" Lear sneered.
"You really won\'t even give me a chance to explain?" Max asked helplessly.
"Why would I? I know you must have prepared some valid reason beforehand or maybe what you did was really right. But, you deliberately chose the path which would bring trouble to me, didn\'t you?" Lear asked in anger.
Max\'s face twitched. He could feel a bit of sweat on his forehead. He had really been caught red handed. But, it still wasn\'t concrete proof.
"You don\'t-"
"Shut up! It\'s war now! I will get even with you, just wait and watch!" Lear interrupted Max and declared war on him. He would make sure to get back at Max even harder.
"I wouldn\'t suggest that honestly. You better not play pranks with me. You will never win." Max shook his head with a laugh.
"We will see…" Lear snorted.
"Sure will," Max replied.
"Are you coming to the Welcoming Party?" Lear suddenly asked, changing the topic as he calmed down a bit.
"Probably not." Max shook his head. He had no such plans. It would be tiring honestly. Besides, he was out of the competition and it was all left to the rest of the guys now.
"I am having a bad feeling," Lear suddenly said in a serious tone.
"Didn\'t I tell you that the security would be upped. There shouldn\'t be a problem." Max really didn\'t think that there would be any trouble with so many people guarding the place
"But, what if someone we trust betrays us?" Lear suddenly asked.
"Why do you think so?" Max asked with interest.
"Mom trusts Arnold. So, does Dad. I am worried that b*stard would do something. Even Mom\'s running away had him playing a part in it." Lear was sure about it. After all, that guy had talked about it during the Orca competition. There shouldn\'t have been any way for him to know about it beforehand.
Hell, even now the people didn\'t know that the Lady of Barnes House was here in Trinity.
"I think its time we inform your father about it," Max said with a frown. There was no other way here. Besides, it was time now. Lear had to put an end to Arnold and for that the truth had to come to surface.
So, this might be a good chance for it to begin...
"He wouldn\'t believe us." Lear\'s voice came from the other end.
"There is nothing we can do about it. At least we have to let him know about it as a possibility and put that idea into his head. We have lives at risk here after all." Max shook his head with a helpless smile.
There were Power houses involved this time. A single mistake would be too much for anyone to bear. "I will go and talk to your dad."
"I will come with you," Lear replied.
"It will be better if I do it. I don\'t think he would be happy to hear it from you." Max sighed, and Lear couldn\'t retort to it.
"It\'s fine, just leave it to me." He further added.
