Chapter 505: That Guy
Chapter 505: That Guy
“Oh.” The professor was a little disappointed but since Zheng Ren had spoken, he subconsciously complied.
Su Yun saw that the professor was here, so he was happy to be free and did not go to the operating room.
The professor tactfully went to put on the lead apron and wash his hands. Zheng Ren waited for him to start disinfecting, then he took out the lead apron from the System space, put it on, and washed his hands.
Today at the First Affiliated Hospital of Provincial Capital Medical University, Zheng Ren did not dare to use the System equipment for fear of being noticed by others.
As he brushed his hands, he thought, ‘Why don’t I bring a suitcase with me the next time I’m outstation for surgery?’
It should be possible. Zheng Ren’s mind ran wild for a while before he brushed his hands and went on stage.
Xie Yiren helped Zheng Ren tie the sterile gown. She half-squatted down and pulled the corner of the clothes underneath. She stretched it a little to make the sterile gown tidier.
She examined it and felt very satisfied. She made a hand gesture to Zheng Ren to cheer him on.
Under the sterile mask, the corners of Zheng Ren’s mouth curled up slightly. His heart felt warm, safe, and happy.
The heavy lead door closed, signaling the beginning of the operation.
“Boss, what’s the operation?” Professor Rudolf Wagner stood by the operating table and asked.
“Make sure that it runs smoothly through the femoral vein,” Zheng Ren answered.
The professor immediately began to puncture the right femoral vein, inserting the end-hole catheter through the PDA into the descending aorta.
At this point, the professor stopped and waited for Zheng Ren to operate next.
Next was the matter of the surgeon. An assistant needed to have the awareness of an assistant. Professor Rudolph Wagner knew this very well in his heart.
Ever since the first surgery when both of them turned around and walked off the stage at the same time, he had always remembered this.
Zheng Ren began imaging. After that, he chose a controllable spring coil of the appropriate diameter to be sent through the catheter into the descending aorta. He placed four coils on the side of the aorta of the PDA, and three-quarters to one coil on the side of the pulmonary artery of the PDA.
The surgery was already halfway done. The next ten minutes would just be waiting.
The professor finally seized the opportunity and immediately said, “Boss, I know what’s wrong with the prostate interventional surgery!”
“Huh?”
“Although the equipment you use seems crude and hard, they’re especially suitable for opening tiny arteries. All equipment has its uses. I think your decision was genius.”
Zheng Ren smiled bitterly. The professor had come to this conclusion? After that, he decided to convince himself that the equipment from Changfeng was actually better?
It was goddamn ridiculous.
If he used Boston Technology or Cook equipment, Zheng Ren was confident that the surgery time would be shortened a little.
“Hey, hey.” The professor turned on the walkie-talkie and tried testing it.
“Lil Fugui, what’s the matter?” Su Yun sat outside and asked lazily.
“What are you doing there? Bring that thing in,” Professor Rudolf Wagner said.
No one in the operating room understood his heavy Northeastern dialect. Even Su Yun was stunned.
What in the world was he talking about?
However, Su Yun’s IQ was very high. His eyes rolled back and his mind was quick. He immediately knew what the professor meant.
“Manager Feng, the professor is calling you,” Su Yun said.
“Ah? Me?” Feng Xuhui was stunned. Who was he and what was this thing he was asking about?
After all, Feng Xuhui was still young. He did not handle unexpected situations well.
After a few seconds, he braced himself, opened the lead door, and walked in.
“Professor Rudolph...”
“Call Me Lil Fugui!” The professor glanced at Feng Xuhui. His eyes and tone were no longer as gentle as when he spoke to Zheng Ren.
Looking at Feng Xuhui’s eyes, it was as if God had opened his eyes and he was looking at an ant.
“Uh... Lil Fugui, are you looking for me? What do you need?” Feng Xuhui asked politely.
This was the first time he had spoken to Professor Rudolph Wagner.
However, the nickname Lil Fugui made Feng Xuhui slightly uncomfortable.
Under Feng Xuhui’s rented house, someone owned a giant poodle called Lil Fugui.
The two names overlapped in his mind, making Feng Xuhui feel very awkward.
Whenever Lil Fugui was mentioned, the shadow of the giant poodle would appear in front of Feng Xuhui. It was quite dramatic.
“The boss is doing a prostate embolism guide. Give me ten... No, twenty sets.” Professor Rudolf Wagner was not polite at all.
In Heidelberg University’s Medical Center, the professor did not care about money at all. Therefore, he had brought his bad habits there with him here.
“Lil Fugui, what are you doing?” Zheng Ren saw that Feng Xuhui was a little confused, so he questioned the other party.
“Boss, I want to bring this equipment that has been kissed by the God of Luck to Heidelberg! I want to complete twenty prostate interventional surgeries there! When I get used to it, I’ll perform the surgery on Dr. Mehar,” Professor Rudolf Wagner said seriously.
“Equipment costs money.” Zheng Ren was more considerate. When he saw Feng Xuhui standing there, he reminded the professor about that.
“Money is not a problem. I’ve never considered it,” the professor said indifferently. “You know what, let your people follow me. I will ask the professors in the Medical Center to purchase your equipment directly. Damn it, I get angry whenever I think of those worms.”
The professor said those words casually, but they fell on Feng Xuhui’s head like a bomb.
In an instant, he directly transcended the tribulation.
Was their product about to reach the international market? How could it be so simple? Moreover, it would not be any ordinary promotion for them, but actually a direct entry into the Heidelberg Medical Center, one of the largest medical institutions in Europe.
Happiness came too suddenly, plunging Feng Xuhui into a state of downtime.
His legs felt heavy, unable to move. This sort of surprise made one’s blood pressure rise.
“Hey, I’m serious. It’s not nonsense,” the professor said. “Your guide wire isn’t great but the boss uses it, so I have to use it too. It’s settled then. You guys get everything ready and I’ll be back in a few days. Make sure to find someone to follow me back with your stuff too.”
“Lil Fugui, when are you going back?” Zheng Ren asked.
“Boss, when the patient’s vitals are stable, I’ll bring him back,” Professor Rudolf Wagner said respectfully. His tone changed so quickly that people were not used to it. “It’s not like you’ll let me be your patient here.”
The professor was finally complaining in a low voice. He seemed full of resentment, looking quite ‘pitiful’.
Zheng Ren did not say anything. He simply ignored the professor.
He looked at the time. It had been almost ten minutes.
“Manager Feng, you can leave now. This isn’t really the appropriate time to have this conversation,” Zheng Ren said. “Contact your company as soon as possible about what Lil Fugui has requested. He’ll be leaving in a few days.”
Feng Xuhui was in a daze. He nodded and turned around to leave like a puppet.
After listening to Zheng Ren’s instructions, he still refused to believe that all of this was true. Would they actually be entering the international market? The company’s equipment was all imitations. Would they be sued for Intellectual Property Rights?
Feng Xuhui began to ponder about it further and further.
Zheng Ren looked at the time. It was exactly ten minutes.
He began to step on the line. He repeated the aortic arch descent angiography to confirm that the spring embolus was in the right position, in a satisfactory shape, and without any residual shunt.
He controlled the rotating handle to release the spring coil, and then repeated the right cardiac catheterization before withdrawing the sheath tube.
After the surgery, Zheng Ren turned around and left the stage.
Professor Rudolf Wagner tacitly went to suppress the bleeding.
“Boss, don’t leave just yet. I have something to tell you,” Professor Rudolf Wagner said hurriedly when he saw that Zheng Ren was about to leave.
“Tell me tomorrow. I’m far too tired today.” Zheng Ren waved his hand and rejected the professor’s invitation without hesitation.
What else could the professor need to talk to him about? It was probably just to study prostate interventional embolization.
These things were not difficult for Zheng Ren who was at the grandmaster-level.
Hence, talking about these things with the professor would really feel like a waste of time.
Normally, it would have been fine. However, Zheng Ren was pretty tired at the moment.
It was a busy day but the most tiring thing for Zheng Ren was not the four TIPS surgeries and one operation where the artery catheter was not closed. Instead, it was the patient’s family who was indifferent and wanted to pull the plug on the patient.
Until now, Zheng Ren could still hear the sound of the patient biting the trachea tube with her teeth when the tube was being pulled out.
Everything would be fine as long as the results were perfect.
Zheng Ren felt physically and mentally exhausted.
“Boss, I’ll go to the ICU for the patient’s aftercare,” Su Yun said to Zheng Ren.
Zheng Ren was reassured by this since it was Su Yun, especially since this patient was a cardiothoracic surgery patient. There was nothing to worry about.
The surgery was finally over. Du Chunfang’s life should have been saved, right? Zheng Ren felt a trace of joy in his exhaustion.
This was the first time in his ten years as a doctor he had indulged himself and fought for a patient.
Hopefully, there would be a perfect ending.
