Chapter 1890 - I’m Quite Strong
Chapter 1890: I’m Quite Strong
“I’m a grown man. I know my own body. You don’t have to worry. I’m fine.”
Mr Li shook his head and patted his chest. “Xiaoyu, do your job well. Don’t worry about what will happen to me.”
“But, Mr Li, if you do this—”
Tang Xiaoyu did not dare to imagine. Her eyes were filled with worry as she looked at Mr. Li. “Mr. Li, why don’t I call Dr Bob to check on you? After all, health is wealth.”
Tang Xiaoyu looked at Mr Li and knew that he would not listen to her no matter what she said.
“It’s alright. I know my body very well.”
Mr Li smiled kindly and waved his hand. The bodyguard sitting beside him saw that Mr Li was about to collapse and quickly supported him. “Mr Li, why don’t you listen to Miss Tang and let Dr Bob do a checkup for you? That way, we can be at ease.”
The bodyguard looked at Mr Li in surprise.
It was said that Mr Li was someone who could live to a hundred years old. But from the looks of it, he did not seem to be able to live to that age.
“Mr Li, since you know yourself so well, I won’t say anything else. As long as you’re healthy, we’ll be at ease.”
Tang Xiaoyu blinked at him.
“Okay. Don’t worry, Xiaoyu, I’m quite strong.”
Mr Li looked at Tang Xiaoyu with gentle eyes as he thought of Duo Duo at home. Duo Duo had become much smarter than when she first arrived, and the little girl had become even more delicate and cute.
When the group of them arrived at Mr Li’s villa, the bodyguard standing at the entrance of the luxurious villa walked forward and whispered something into Mr Li’s ear. Mr Li’s entire body became especially heavy and his expression was terrifyingly gloomy.
With the help of Mr Li, Tang Xiaoyu was doing well in the business world in America. Pei Ge and Ji Ziming were slowly digging out the remaining power behind Old lady Qu.
In the cold and damp prison, Old lady Qu sat in the corner of the wall with a miserable expression. The hurt in her eyes showed that she was unwilling to give in.
“Pei Ge, I will never forgive you. You’re a b*tch who relied on Ji Ziming to climb up the ranks. What right do you have to take everything from me? Who do you think you are? You’re just a bastard that no one wants...”
Old lady Qu kept nagging and the police officers who were watching over her did not want to listen anymore.
“I say, Old lady Qu, can you stop cursing like this? Do you think anyone will come to see you when you’re like this? If Old master Qu and the young masters and young mistresses of the Qu family wanted to see you, you would be long gone. You should have been rescued a long time ago but look at yourself now. Other than scolding people here, do you have any other way?”
The prison guard said a lot and Old lady Qu’s voice finally calmed down.
The sharp glint in her eyes had suddenly turned into the gloominess of a dead fish.
A few birds flew past the dark sky outside the window and their hoarse cries seemed to echo in the sky that Old lady Qu could see. This small place was getting bigger and bigger in her eyes.
Her backup plan had already come to an end in this narrow space, but Old lady Qu did not want to believe it. She did not believe that her trusted subordinate would be taken in by Ji Ziming so quickly. She did not believe that Sire Nine’s Darkbringer Empire would be broken by Ji Ziming so quickly. She did not believe many pieces of news but all these were shattered by the fantasy before her.
“Do you think this bird is flying to the south or the north?”
Old lady Qu looked up at the sky and her voice drifted toward the prison guards.
“Wherever the birds go, it’s not a place you want to go.”
Pei Ge’s voice suddenly sounded in the quiet and cold space. Pei Ge walked in with a cold expression and dressed in black. Looking at Old lady Qu, her voice became even colder, as though she was colliding with ice from the North Pole.
All the cold air hit Old lady Qu’s face and her heart felt like it was in the cold wind. A small hole was torn in the brocade sachet and it became bigger and bigger. The warmth inside was slowly eroded by the cold and became colder.
Only those who had experienced the warmth of the sun would know how terrifying the cold was.
“Pei Ge, you b*tch, who are you to look for me? Do you think that you’re Ji Ziming’s wife now? You’re the Ji family’s daughter-in-law and the Qu family’s eldest daughter, but does it matter? Aren’t you a lowly woman who only knows how to fight for the happiness of others’ families?”
Old lady Qu’s voice was trembling and her eyes were filled with hatred as she looked at Pei Ge. She could not wait to tear this woman apart and snatch Pei Ge’s everything. It was because of Pei Ge that she was able to live a life like hell.
“You’re telling me about happiness?”
Pei Ge narrowed her eyes at Old lady Qu with hatred.
“Do you think a b*tch like you is worthy of happiness? Do you think that a woman like you will become a phoenix just because you entered the Ji family? Do you think you are that good? Do you really think you are that good?”
Old lady Qu’s eyes were filled with fire as she tried to pull Pei Ge’s face with her long hand.
“Old lady Qu, I think you’ve forgotten who you are. Do you want me to tell you who you are?”
Pei Ge did not seem to be affected by Old lady Qu’s words and merely looked at her with an even colder and scarier gaze.
His gaze was so cold that it seemed like he was looking at an indifferent spectator.
“Get lost! Get lost now!”
Old lady Qu’s eyes darkened and her red eyes turned even redder.
“You want me to get lost? Do you know that if I say something now, I can make your dying cheap life disappear from this world very soon? However, I don’t plan to let you die right now. I have plenty of time to play with you slowly.”
Pei Ge held onto the metal door and the rust on it became even redder in her clean hands. It was as though her hands were stained with blood, yet there was no smell of blood. This strangely excited her.
