Chapter 1731 - Protect My Mother-in-law Well
Chapter 1731: Protect My Mother-in-law Well
Sire Nine knew that he could not stay here any longer and could only choose to leave. However, before he could reach the door, he was stopped by Ji Ziming’s bodyguards.
“What’s wrong? CEO Ji, you don’t want me to leave?”
Sire Nine’s voice was firm and sounded as though he was refusing to give in to his old age.
“How could I not let Sire Nine go? I just want to tell you that you need to look carefully before making a move. Otherwise, I won’t be so kind as to let you go next time.”
“I see. Then, I’ll say something to you as well.”
Sire Nine turned around and looked at Ji Ziming. “Young man, you should learn to conceal yourself more.”
“Should I conceal it like you too? As long as it’s something I want, why should I hide it? Besides, only those with evil intentions will choose to hide what they want. I’m open and aboveboard, so I don’t need to hide anything.”
Ji Ziming laughed and looked at Sire Nine before continuing, “Sire Nine, what do you think?”
“Sure, sure. Since CEO Ji is so charismatic, I’m afraid I have nothing else to say.”
Sire Nine smiled coldly and looked intriguingly at Ji Ziming before walking back to the door. The bodyguard at the door glanced at Ji Ziming before opening the door and letting Sire Nine out.
Hearing Sire Nine’s car start, the bodyguard chief beside Ji Ziming asked, “Sir, should we send someone to follow this person?”
“No need. He’s an old fox. You guys won’t be able to handle him.”
Ji Ziming looked in the direction Sire Nine had left and narrowed his eyes. The coldness in his eyes slowly rose.
“There must be a story behind such a person and probably a legendary one.”
“CEO, do you really not want to send anyone to follow him?”
The bodyguard chief was a little worried and confirmed it again.
“No need. Go busy yourself with your matters. Remember to ensure the safety of those who are going out.”
Ji Ziming turned around and did not look in Sire Nine’s direction anymore. He continued speaking to the bodyguard chief, “Protecting my mother-in-law is your most important task now.”
“Yes, sir!”
The bodyguard chief nodded and realized the importance of his task before leaving Ji Ziming.
Ji Ziming walked up the stairs and stared intently at the door to Pei Ge’s room. The moment the door was opened, Pei Ge was sound asleep under the thin blanket.
“You just had breakfast. Are you going to sleep right now?”
Ji Ziming’s voice was tinged with a smile as he looked at Pei Ge who was sleeping on the bed. “Little pig, wake up. The sun is shining on your butt.”
“Shouldn’t you know that I can’t get up? If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have lost so much face today!”
He made her get up, wanted her to leave the house, and even wanted to pull her to continue doing those things. She would only do it if she was crazy.
“What’s wrong? Are you still mad at me?”
Ji Ziming’s voice suddenly softened as he half-knelt beside Pei Ge’s bed and covered the blanket for her. He said dotingly, “If you don’t want to get up then don’t get up. If you want to eat anything, I can still bring it over. As long as it’s something you want to cook, I’ll agree to it. How’s that?”
Ji Ziming lowered his stance and looked at Pei Ge, who was nestled in bed, and his heart softened.
He must have been crazy to do it so many times last night. Even he could not remember how many times he had done it. He only knew that he had used as many safety measures in the drawer as he could.
“Ji Ziming, it’s all your fault. If not for you, I wouldn’t be like this!”
Pei Ge hid under the blanket and looked at Ji Ziming hatefully. “If it weren’t for you, that doctor wouldn’t be here today.”
“Are you worried that the doctor will tell everyone about you?”
Ji Ziming raised an eyebrow. So this is why this little person felt uncomfortable.
“What else do you think I’ll think? I already said that I’ll slowly recover on my own, yet you just don’t believe me.”
Pei Ge rolled her eyes at Ji Ziming. The blush on her face had yet to fade and resurfaced because of her earlier agitation.
“But seeing you in pain makes me feel worse than you do.”
Ji Ziming laid on Pei Ge’s bed and rested his forehead on hers. He actually managed to appease Pei Ge, who had just flown into a rage.
“You...”
She was so shocked that she could not speak and just let him hug her.
“What’s wrong with me? I’m sorry for making you suffer. I promise I won’t do it again.”
Ji Ziming’s voice was slightly hot as his Adam’s apple bobbed. “Ge Ge, can you forgive me this once?”
“Okay.”
She did not know how she readily forgive him when he asked for her forgiveness, but she remembered that there was no such thing as begging in his world.
He, who had always been high and mighty, was actually willing to put down his pride to win her forgiveness in order for her to be happy. Pei Ge’s heart slowly melted. She was never a hard-hearted person.
“It’s not your fault. I can only blame you for being too strong for now.”
She reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist. Through the white silk shirt, she could feel his abs. They were hard and felt good.
“You’ve been working out a lot recently. Your abs seem to be a little bigger than before.”
“Of course. If not, why would I spend so much effort last night?”
Ji Ziming laughed out loud as he looked at Pei Ge’s bright eyes. His small figure was actually the size of a sesame seed in her eyes while she was the size of tens of million of sesame seeds in his heart.
“Ge Ge, I have something to tell you.”
Ji Ziming’s voice suddenly became calm, as though what was about to happen was a serious matter.
“What’s wrong?”
Seeing the seriousness on his face, she suddenly felt nervous.
“What do you want to say? Why aren’t you saying anything?”
She waited seriously, but he did not reply.
“I want to tell you that I want to eat your braised fish today.”
Pei Ge was speechless.
“Just this?”
She asked.
“Yes.”
Ji Ziming was very calm, as though he was talking about something incredible, yet he could not control himself.
“Okay, no problem. I’ll get up soon and cook what you want to eat. As long as you want to eat, I’ll make it. How’s that?”
