Chapter 1604 - Call me if anything happens.

Chapter 1604: Call me if anything happens.

“Ziming, my company is...”

She raised her head slightly to meet his worried eyes. She had never seen him this nervous before, and it was even because of her. She had not seen him like this for a long time, and similarly, he had not seen her with these sad eyes in a long time.

The last time it happened was when she left him resolutely and cruelly.

After five years, her current gaze made his eyes glint again.

“What happened to your company?”

His voice was filled with ruthlessness. If anyone dared to do anything to her, he would not let them off. Moreover, she was his wife. Be it in the past, present, or future, no one could bully his woman.

“Something happened to my company, but you must believe that I will be able to handle it myself.”

When she thought of how he had so many things to deal with at the Ji Group and even had a ticking bomb called Qu Jingwan in it, which could explode at any time, she became worried that telling him hers would only add to his mountain of burdens.

“What’s wrong? Do you not even want to give me even a little trust?”

Ji Ziming stood up. The sternness and cruelty in his eyes made her heart shake.

Hence, she could only tell him about the situation in her company now. Seeing his nervous eyes, she felt some self-reproach inside.

“I will help you investigate it; don’t worry.”

To the man, this was no simple case of poaching. It was likely that the other party’s plan was to empty out Pei Ge’s company and isolate her.

Still, with him around, she did not have to worry too much.

“Let’s go back after Ping An’s three-day treatment is over.”

“Okay. We still have two more days. We will return the night after his treatment ends. Considering the travel time, we will be there by morning.”

His calculations were correct. Moreover, he already had a plan on how to deal with her problem.

The two-day treatment ended very quickly. Ji Chi was very obedient and did not make any ruckus in these three days, or rather, it was more accurate to say that he had not argued with her mother or thought of Qu Jingwan in the days he was in the US.

Joe’s treatment was simple and irrelevant. On the last night, Pei Ge realized that they could do without it. She witnessed how the boy got closer to her and recalled the doctor’s comment on how Ji Ziming and she just needed to make an effort in helping their son recover his memories.

She did not understand how the hypnosis on the child was this serious when they had only separated for such a short time.

Sitting beside the boy, she rubbed his smooth hair and recalled how, when they had just met, she even thought that he was not her child. Now, the tables had turned with the truth being revealed, yet he refused to acknowledge her and was even repulsed and cautious toward her at one point.

Children were innocent, yet this boy’s eyes were filled with hatred as though they were daggers coated with poison as they struck her heart.

Luckily, all of these were about to be over.

After bidding her mother goodbye, Ji Ziming’s subordinates came to get her and the children, while the man himself was at their family mansion, waiting for his mother to return with them.

However, when they got on the plane, she found the man alone.

“Why are you alone? Where is auntie?”

She held her children’s hands as she stood in front of him.

“My dad’s stomach is acting up, so she decided not to go back with us for now.”

He smiled in a lackadaisical manner, then bent down to touch the three children’s cheeks, saying in a gentle voice, “We are going home now; shall you three take a rest for now? The plane will be taking off.”

“Okay! Good night, daddy.”

An An nodded, then sensibly and considerately pulled his siblings back to their room.

“You should quickly rest, too. I won’t be sleeping with you tonight. Call me if anything happens; I’ll be in the living room.”

He watched the children return to their room and heard the door close before turning to Pei Ge. “I’ll handle some work, so you should go rest first.”

He then picked up his laptop from the coffee table and started working. Before she could make another sound, the pilot walked over and bent at the waist to the man respectfully. “Sir, can we leave now?”

“Yes, please do. You don’t need to go too fast, or else my wife will feel uncomfortable. Also, have that air stewardess brew me a cup of coffee.”

“Yes, sir; I will do as you instructed.”

The pilot turned around and left the room. When the person reached the end of the corridor, Pei Ge sat down beside him and asked, “What work do you have to handle? I’ll accompany you to help you with it.”

Ji Ziming looked up. The blue light of the computer reflected on his face, instantly making his features turn softer. He looked at her and answered in a gentle voice, “It’s fine; you should go rest. I can handle it. Don’t you trust me?”

“In what way do I not trust you? I just feel bad for you. Is the matter you need to handle something I don’t know?”

She turned to look at his laptop screen but did not manage to see anything as he was blocking it.

“Listen to me: You should go to sleep for now. There will be loads of things awaiting you when we reach home tomorrow. How are you going to take care of the children if you don’t take care of yourself well?”

He analyzed the pros and cons while looking at her. Even if her makeup was nicely applied and her pink lips were still attractive to him, he did not have the urge to continue following that train of thought.

In truth, he was logging into his email on his laptop. Bi Zheng was already done decoding all those photos and had mailed everything to him. He did not want to involve her in these troublesome matters.

Still, what he did not know was that the two were already tightly entangled just by them being together. There was no such thing as not letting the other know about things for their good.

The flight stewardess brought him coffee while walking with a coquettish gait. She even spoke in a seductive tone. “Sir, this is the coffee you requested. I will take my leave if there are no other orders. Please feel free to call me if you have other needs. I will be beside the missus’s room.”
