Saturday quickly passed. Pei Ge’s initial plan to stay at home on Sunday was changed by Pan Xinlei’s invitation on the phone last night to go shopping with her.
Although she was basically a homebody, she decided to accept Pan Xinlei’s invitation to go shopping with her today as she had received plenty of help from the latter before.
As such, this Sunday, Pei Ge rested for a while after eating lunch and then left home at 1:30 P.M. in a cab going to their agreed-upon destination.
Inside the taxi, Pei Ge looked at the sun in the sky and pouted, Today’s sun is very bright. Thankfully, Sister Xinlei shops at the mall with air conditioner, so we won’t be out in the sun.
The car soon arrived at the destination and she alighted from it after paying the fare.
“Ge Ge, here, here!”
Pei Ge fortunately met Pan Xinlei the moment she got off the taxi, so she did not need to make a call.
“Sister Xinlei!” Pei Ge smiled brightly as she walked toward Pan Xinlei.
“Let’s go! My little ghost at home kept on clinging on to me, so I haven’t been able to go out shopping for the longest time now. Good thing his grandparents came over today; I was able to leave my child with them and come out to shop,” Pan Xinlei happily spoke of this as she hooked her arm with Pei Ge’s.
Pei Ge knew that Pan Xinlei’s child was still young and needed someone to take care of him. Although the child spent the day at a kindergarten, she occasionally needed time off work or to leave the office early to take care of her child.
The two entered the mall in high spirits, chatting and laughing on their merry way.
Perhaps, it was because Pan Xinlei had not shopped for so long that she had so much energy to shop now. They visited a great number of shops, yet she did not seem to tire out.
They were fortunately inside a mall building and the sunlight could not penetrate through it so, besides walking, this activity was truly not tiring.
“Ge Ge, what do you think of this dress?” Pan Xinlei held up a red, form-fitting dress. Although the cutting was simple and not overly fancy, the dress looked elegant and sexy.
“Mhm! It looks good.” Pei Ge’s eyes brightened when she saw the dress and nodded.
“Go try it out.” Pan Xinlei shoved the dress into Pei Ge’s hand when she saw that the latter liked it a lot.
“Me?” Pei Ge blinked and looked at the dress in her hand before saying shyly, “I don’t think I fit this dress.”
Pan Xinlei looked at her and rolled her eyes. “What do you mean you don’t fit the dress? You are younger than me, fairer than me, and have a much better figure. If I can wear it, so can you.”
“Er...” Pei Ge touched her nose shyly at her office friend’s compliment. Since she put on weight, this was the first time, besides her mother, that someone had complimented her body.
“Hurry up!” Pan Xinlei pushed her into a dressing room.
Seeing Pei Ge obediently enter the dressing room to try the dress, Pan Xinlei shook her head with laughter and began looking for clothes again.
Pak!
Soon, the dressing room door opened and Pei Ge walked out of it.“Sister Xinlei, I’ve changed,” Pei Ge softly informed Pan Xinlei, who was busy choosing clothes.
Hearing Pei Ge’s voice, Pan Xinlei quickly turned to look at her. And with this one look, she was stunned.
Honestly speaking, Pei Ge’s features were not ugly and, although she was slightly plump, her face was soothing to look at.
Pei Ge’s skin was fair, and wearing the red, form-fitting dress only made it look fairer, like a freshly peeled egg – translucent and white.
If one had to put it in words, this red dress basically obscured all of Pei Ge’s body flaws. The V-shaped neckline revealed some of the hooked lines of the sturdy **** and the waist cut made her waist look slimmer. Although she was not as slim as an hourglass, but the waist with the full **** and the snow-white thighs were enough to make heads turn.
The fair skin made the outfit look like a snowy red dress. Coupled with the delicate and clean goose-egg face, the whole person seemed to project a contradictory beauty, which was sexy yet pure. Simply put, Pei Ge looked stunningly beautiful right now! Very beautiful!
“Ge Ge, you look really good in that dress!” The shock had not dissipated from Pan Xinlei’s eyes. She always knew that Pei Ge was not ugly, but she did not expect that she would look this beautiful when she seriously dolled up.
“I agree! This dress seems to be specially tailored for this missy here. You look really pretty in it.” The salesperson, who was standing at the side, also complimented Pei Ge sincerely.
Hearing the two’s praises, Pei Ge could not help but have some expectation as she walked to the full-length mirror, and what she saw in it made her swoon.
Which woman did not like to look pretty? Although she looked like a big woman now, before her father’s death, this lady was a downright vain princess.
If it were not for the pressures in life, this feisty Pei Ge might not even be seen today.
“You! Not that I want to comment on your choice of wear but, except for that white outfit and that dress gifted to you, all your clothes don’t suit you at all.” Pan Xinlei smiled when she saw how delighted Pei Ge was as she looked at herself in the mirror.
“Those outfits you have aren’t exactly ugly, but they don’t really suit you. I suggest that you don’t wear them anymore and buy a few sets that are truly right for you.”
Pei Ge was stunned by Pan Xinlei’s advice. The two outfits that Pan Xinlei mentioned, one was from the bar and another was from Tang Xiaoyu. As for the rest, they were more or less given to her by Pei Shishi.
It turned out that... those clothes did not suit her at all.
Pei Ge thought of Pei Shishi’s recent attitude toward her and felt bitter.
She was no fool and could sense whether Pei Shishi was being sincere or not toward her.
They might have gotten along well in the past, but their relationship had become strained ever since Pei Shishi went overseas. Now, because of that man, Zhou Zhuoyang, the sisterhood that they shared might never return to how it was before.
