Chapter 118

Chapter 118

The military academy was quiet overall.

Of course, all of the cadets with proper family members or guardians must have gone to enjoy their summer vacation.

What remained here were mostly those who were reluctant to return to their family.

Or they came to study from a poor country, just like many of their peers did.

In addition to the unprecedented sweltering heat that had not been so very hot in several years, orders were issued to refrain from training unless it was done very early in the morning.

The most important thing was to stay healthy during this difficult time.

Thanks to this, only the excruciating heat remained on the training grounds of the military academy, where there was barely any sound.

Noel descended from the carriage and gazed up at the terrible sky for a moment.

Today, there was not a single cloud in sight.

“Then, Young Master, I will be waiting for you in the waiting room. I’ll get the horses to drink some cool water.”

Noel nodded his head as the coachman spoke with concern in his voice.

“I’m keeping them cool. They’ll probably give me ice when I go to the waiting room. Hold the ice in your mouth and stay still. It’s so hot . . .”

Noel said that he would be back soon and entered the military academy’s faculty building.

Fortunately for him, the shaded interior was much cooler than it had been outside, allowing him to breathe more.

I’m feeling stuffy.

Noel was tugging at the collar of his tight-fitting suit.

It hadn’t been too uncomfortable when he left the mansion, but the situation changed after he was out for over an hour.

I have to deliver the letter quickly and go back.

Noel hurried his steps.

He was lucky that there was no one around in the hallway.

Because he wouldn’t want to say anything, as he was walking a bit erratically.

“Aren’t you going to do it right?!”

Noel gasped when he heard a harsh cry from somewhere.

While unconsciously and very quickly correcting his posture.

“That’s a carriage from the Duchy of Mayer. The horse that pulls the wagon is worth more than your entire silly body.”

Noel soon realized that those words were not directed at him.

It was the sound coming from outside the window.

“Oh, you don’t know? No surprise, someone like you might not know. You’re an idiot.”

Noel wondered who the hell was saying that.

It was probably not a knight, but a cadet.

“The Duchy’s horses are pitiful. Must they drink the dirty water that this beggar gives them?”

“When offering water to Sir horse, show that you have washed your body well and offer it politely with both hands.”

The youths chuckled once more.

Noel looks up at the window where the sound is coming from.

He saw them, but unfortunately, he was a little too short to see everything outside.

However, the name of the Duchy of Mayer was mentioned several times, and the scene of insulting someone could not be overlooked.

Duke Mayer was someone who values

the protection of the weak above all else.

Noel took a few steps back from the window.

Even if he knew nothing else, he was confident in his light movements.

He jumped high with all his momentum.

After putting his hands on the window sill, he was able to stand on it without difficulty.

Was it because the building is taller than expected?

Noel stood in a position overlooking the cadets outside.

The little boy inwardly liked it, just a little bit.

Because he always just looked up at someone.

At that moment, the cadets saw Noel suddenly appear and were promptly startled.

“Who, who . . . ?”

Noel grinned at their question.

For some reason, he felt like a knight of justice from a fairy tale book.

Besides, a slight breeze blew at that moment, lending his dark hair a nice, windswept appearance.

“I will ask.”

Noel looked around the cadets and spoke in a haughty voice.

“Who dares to speak of the Duchy of Mayer?”

Noel had a very stern face.

Of course, he wasn’t really angry. He was just obsessed with his own coolness.

“Well . . .”

The cadets were taken aback by the sudden appearance of the young boy, but they could not be careless.

Unsurprisingly, everything from Noel’s clothing to his attitude spoke of high ranking nobility.

What’s more, didn’t they say ‘Duchy of Mayer’ with their own mouths?

The cadets immediately recognized that the boy was the Duchy’s little master.

“I’m, I’m sorry. Lord.”

“I didn’t mean to speak of such a precious family.”

“It was because this guy didn’t seem to know the greatness of the Duchy’s family, so I was going to teach him . . .”

What? They had stupid children who didn’t know of the majesty of a Duchy?

Noel was very surprised that such a pathetic person was a cadet with the intention of becoming a knight.

So he tried to catch a glimpse of the face of the unreasonable person.

But he was right under the window door where Noel was standing.

Thus, it was difficult to see his face because he was drooping on the wall of the building.

Perhaps he was beaten by the other cadets one by one.

He seems to be a pretty weak guy.

Noel clicked his tongue.

After all, he wasn’t a child of a proper family who was staying here during the vacation.

So, he could start a childish argument like this or get caught in it.
