Chapter 111 - Xiaoxue
“Ding, an unsuccessful capture. The proficiency of the capture skill enhances.”
The tall Holy Light Unicorn snorted contemptuously, catching a glimpse of Xiaofeng and then flying away with his wings flapping wildly.
Xiaofeng didn’t give up and continued to capture the next one, with an oath that he would never stop until he reached his goal.
Unfortunately, aspirations often outpace reality.
Xiaofeng has been wandering around this snowy peak for more than half an hour, only to find nothing. He even didn’t find a feather of the Holy Light Unicorn, not to mention a successful capture.
“I don’t buy it today! I can’t catch a big one. Can’t I catch a small one?”
Rolling up his sleeves, Xiaofeng opened his eyes wide and glanced at the snowy peak aimlessly.
Just as what Bishop Renault has said, it was not easy to capture adult Holy Light Unicorns. Well, he could capture a small one and he could ride it when it grew up anyway for young Holy Light Unicorns were certainly more easily captured than the adult ones.
Yes, Xiaofeng really found a group of small Holy Light Unicorns.
A group of adult unicorns flew over first, just like patrolling this snowy peak. The lead of these Holy Light Unicorns wore a crown, and the other unicorns all made way for it wherever it went.
But the group of young unicorns that Xiaofeng found even kneeled collectively.
However, a small Holy Light Unicorn with extraordinarily bright white hair seemed to be particularly unruly. Not only did it not give a salute, but it arrogantly raised its long and white neck to face the Holy Light Unicorn who wore a crown on its head flying over the sky straightly. That made it all the more compelling.
Xiaofeng took a fancy to it at once. As soon as the group of adult Holy Light Unicorns flew over, he quickly slid over.
The snow-white unicorn was so proud that it did not even play with the other young unicorns, but walked proudly aside and ate the snow alone.
However, this just provided Xiaofeng with a chance. When it was alone on one side, he quickly leaned on and threw a capture skill on its head.
“Ding, an unsuccessful capture. The proficiency of the capture skill enhances.”
The system prompted that his capture failed again, and the snow-white Holy Light Unicorn also raised its head to catch a glimpse of Xiaofeng, with contempt and arrogance in the eyes that Xiaofeng could see it from afar.
Then the snow-white Holy Light Unicorn continued to lower its head to gnaw the snow, and even changed a softer piece of snow, as if it didn’t put Xiaofeng in its eyes completely.
With a sudden rigid face, Xiaofeng was not discouraged and closed to it a few steps. When the cool-down time of the capture skill was up, he threw it to the unicorn again.
“Ding, an unsuccessful capture. The proficiency of the capture skill enhances.”
He still failed. The snow-white Holy Light Unicorn cast a glance at Xiaofeng, with the eyes revealing something of mockery. But it was not afraid of strangers for Xiaofeng was already close to it. It didn’t go, which was totally nothing less than a contemptuous attitude of Xiaofeng.
Xiaofeng suppressed his anger and sat down in the same place, planning to consume time with it. Fixing his eyes on this snow-white Holy Light Unicorn, who were all white and colorless in the whole body, he planned to capture it as soon as the cool-down time of the capture skill was up.
“Ding, an unsuccessful capture. The proficiency of the capture skill enhances.”
“Ding, an unsuccessful capture. The proficiency of the capture skill enhances.”
“Ding, an unsuccessful capture. The proficiency of the capture skill enhances.”
…
The cool-down time of the capture skill lasted for one minute while Xiaofeng spent at least ten minutes with the unicorn. He tried more than ten times but ended up failing.
And this Holy Light Unicorn simply didn’t bother to respond to him at the end, completely engrossed in eating the snow as if Xiaofeng wasn’t there.
Xiaofeng suppressed his anger again and planned to continue capturing it, but the snow-white Holy Light Unicorn seemed to be tired of eating the snow. It stopped eating the snow, slowly moving his body, stretching its wings and ready to leave.
“Wait!”
Xiaofeng certainly refused to let it go. Otherwise, his 20-minute wait will be in vain. So, he jumped out quickly.
“Hoo!”
The snow-white Holy Light Unicorn violently flapped its wings and took a step back suddenly, looking at Xiaofeng scornfully but warily.
Xiaofeng looked on in despair for two seconds, and he could do nothing with the snow-white unicorn. But he could not act recklessly. If so, Xiaofeng would be miserable.
The name of the Holy Light Unicorn was shown as a neutral yellow name. If Xiaofeng dared to act recklessly, it would turn into red hatred in an instant. But, after all, there was the gathering place of the Holy Light Unicorn and Xiaofeng couldn’t see the levels of the adult Holy Light Unicorns. If he did such a thing, he going to be terrible.
So, Xiaofeng was stunned and suddenly opened his backpack to take out a white object from it.
This was a piece of cake that Xiaobai left. It must get out for food in view of this snow-white unicorn nibbling at the snow. So, after thinking for a while, Xiaofeng immediately rummaged out the cake from his backpack.
With its puzzled eyes, the snow-white Holy Light Unicorn looked at Xiaofeng and then looked at the beautiful and delicate cream cake in his hands, totally having no idea what it was.
Xiaofeng immediately reached out to hand it the cake carefully. Although Xiaofeng was approaching, the snow-white Holy Light Unicorn who was arrogant did not go backward, and did not fear Xiaofeng at all.
Then, Xiaofeng handed the cream cake under its nose. Although the snow was cold, a rich creamy aroma still wafted into its nose at such a close distance.
Immediately, he saw the snow-white Holy Light Unicorn moving its nose, and then putting the nose close to Xiaofeng’s hand to sniff the cream cake.
“It’s food for you.”
Xiaofeng said. Though he felt he was talking nonsense, the snow-white Holy Light Unicorn apparently understood.
After a few sniffs, it opened his mouth tentatively to bite a bit of cream away and swallowed it.
Then he saw a sharp shock on its flawless white body as if it trembled, with the eyes shining brightly.
Compared with the taste of snow, the cake was absolutely more delicious.
“Ka!”
Being stiff in the whole body, the snow-white Holy Light Unicorn stared firmly at the cream cake in Xiaofeng’s hand, and then bit down with a big mouth.
With the clear bite sound, Xiaofeng drew back his hand and was seized by a fear that he would have lost his hand if he had been bitten by it.
The snow-white Holy Light Unicorn bit nothing. It was stunned for a moment with some doubt, staring at Xiaofeng with its bright eyes firmly as well as wistfully.
“Are you going to eat my hand?”
Xiaofeng said grumpily, considering that it had a good personality for it didn’t grab the cake from his hand at least. Then, he continued to pass it the cream cake that it had got a bite.
The snow-white Holy Light Unicorn immediately set its eyes on the cream cake, totally ignoring Xiaofeng. But this time, it was gentler than before. It carefully popped its head out to bite off a small piece of cream cake again, chewing several times before swallow it with reluctance, and then looking at Xiaofeng again, as if to ask for a little more.
“All yours, eat it.”
Xiaofeng shook his head with a funny smile, handing the remaining cream cake to its mouth.
The snow-white Holy Light Unicorn showed an immediate glow of joy in the eyes, carefully eating up the rest of the cream cake one after another and licking wistfully Xiaofeng’s palm at last.
During the period, Xiaofeng seized the opportunity to touch its head, but it didn’t care. He would have been kicked over if it had been the arrogant temper as before.
After finishing eating, the unicorn looked on Xiaofeng with eager eyes even if it had licked the palms of his hands clean, as if it was asking for any more.
Xiaofeng also looked for it in his backpack, and then took out a piece of strawberry milk cake to feed it again.
Apparently, the snow-white Holy Light Unicorn preferred the strawberry one and finished it in a few bites, and looked longingly at Xiaofeng again.
With a smile in his eyes, Xiaofeng felt its fur which was as smooth and sleek as silk, and took out a chocolate cake from the backpack again.
But this time, Xiaofeng was surprised to see that although the snow-white Holy Light unicorn was very coveted with the chocolate cake, it seemed to be somewhat resistant to the black color of the chocolate cake. With a hard struggle, it failed to eat the cake.
Stunned for a moment, Xiaofeng changed it to another cream cake. This time, the snow-white unicorn did not resist, but gnawed merrily.
Just when it gobble down the cake, Xiaofeng threw a capture skill on its head again. This time, it was no longer an unsuccessful capture.
“Ding, a successful capture! Congratulations on getting the mount — the Holy Light Unicorn! Please name it!”
“Ding! Your pet Xiaobai gets the first place in the pet list of the Huaxia District. Do you want to conceal your character name?”
“Ding! Since your character name doesn’t conform to the civilized norm, it’s automatically hidden for you.”
“Ding! Since you captured the princess of the Holy Light Unicorn, all Holy Light Unicorns increase their threat to you by ten. Please leave this place as soon as possible.”
…
A white light hung over the snow-white Holy Light Unicorn, and it has entered the pet space of Xiaofeng. At the same time, the system prompts also rang one after another.
Xiaofeng was filled with joy. But before he had time to look at the attribute of the unicorn, he heard a sudden wind blowing over the snowy peak while all the Holy Light Unicorn had turned into red names at the same time and were flying in droves in his direction.
What? This extraordinarily white Holy Light Unicorn was the princess of their family?
Noticing hordes of the adult Holy Light Unicorns that had been red-eyed, with little time to think, Xiaofeng quickly took out the Returning Scroll to crush it. A little later, he might not be able to leave this place.
Fortunately, the snow-white Holy Light Unicorn has a little bit deviated from its ethnic group, which allowed Xiaofeng to have enough time to read a piece of Returning Scroll. With the rays of light having dispersed, Xiaofeng appeared in the teleport array of Shengshui City.
Feeling relieved, Xiaofeng had time to catch up on a few system prompts.
The first step was to choose a name for it. On second thoughts, Xiaofeng considered that the Holy Light Unicorn was white in the whole body, and the name of Xiaobai has already used by him. Besides, it was the princess of the Holy Light Unicorns.
“Just call Xiaoxue.”
“Ding! You successfully created the name for the mount of the Holy Light Unicorn as “Xiaoxue”.”
Then, Xiaofeng was able to open the attributes of Xiaoxue to have a look.
