Chapter 283

Chapter 283

February 24th, 2021, 08:00

Seoul Jongro-ku Blue House national emergency situation center, underground bunker. The president’s office.

President Suh Hyun-woo picked up the phone’s receiver early in the morning to call President Trump before the march to Tokyo was about to begin.

“Hello. Have you been well, President Trump?”

“My, my, are you just trying to get on my nerves? Do you think I am doing well?”

“Hmm, if that’s not the case, I am sorry.”

“Sorry? Tens of thousands of American soldiers have lost their lives from Corea’s attacks.”

President Suh Hyun-woo became annoyed by President Trump’s irritable attitude and retorted, “If you put it that way, I guess I have nothing to say. However, we also suffered numerous casualties at Daegu and other cities from the bombs America dropped in the middle of cities. Didn’t you also use nuclear torpedoes? How can you use nuclear weapons on a nation that doesn’t own any?”

“Our nation did not use nuclear torpedoes against Corea.” President Trump’s face was defiant through the screen.

“No? We have more than enough evidence.”

“That’s not a nuclear torpedo. It’s a proton torpedo.”

“Don’t toy with words, Trump. Aren’t proton weapons a form of a nuclear bomb?”

“They are different things. Protons only emit a small amount of radiation. Thus, they are no different than a regular bomb.”

“Ah! That’s how it is. So, you’re saying that as long as a projectile does not emit radiation, it can be used freely?”

“Hmm! I’m just telling you how things are. Anyway, you called me just to argue about this?” President Trump noticed the conversation was not in his favor and attempted to change the subject.

“No. Our military has taken over the entire Kyushu area. Honshu’s major cities, Nagoya and Osaka will be taken by our military soon as well.”

“Yes, I am aware,” President Trump answered brusquely.

“President Trump! Our government is completely aware of the USSC organization’s existence and its actions.”

When President Suh Hyun-woo mentioned the USSC, President Trump froze up and did not move. Then he started to make gestures with his hands and tried to deny it.

“What is this USSC organization you speak of? Why are you telling me about this?”

“Mr. President! Are you really asking me that because you don’t know?”

“Yes. Why are you asking about an organization that I am not aware of?”

“Even if you feign ignorance, I will still say what I need to say. This is a sincere request as the president of Corea, an allied nation to America by blood,” President Suh Hyun-woo spoke with a sincere look on his eyes.

“During the Second World War, America’s victory led to our independence from Japan. We were also able to fend off North Korea’s attacks during the Korean War thanks to America’s military aid. I also believe our nation was able to become a democratic nation and an economic power through America’s aid as well.

As the president and citizen of Corea, I would like to express my sincere gratitude. However, America right now is no longer the just nation that protects democracy. It is now a nation that serves the 13 families under the USSC. If America backs out from the war between Corea and Japan, then our nation will pay for the damages we have caused and actively cooperate to protect democracy. Mr. President, please abandon the USSC, and let’s work together,” President Suh Hyun-woo spoke in an earnest tone while making his request.

President Trump crossed his armed to think and fell silent. A minute passed, and President Trump finally spoke, “So, you decided to continue the war against Japan, despite America, your allied nation, requested for you to stop?”

“Didn’t you know? Japan invaded Dok-do Island. They also used Sarin gas at Jirin during the war against China, then pinned the act on the Chinese government. Their involvement was clearly a war crime. Also, during the week-long ceasefire, the nation attempted to assassinate our vice-president. Aren’t you aware of this?”

“Regardless, America does not want a war between Japan and Corea.”

“President Trump! So, you’re going to ignore the requests I made?”

“What is there for me to say? This is the first time I’ve heard about the USSC organization, and you’re making wild claims.”

“Are you really going to continue denying? Our government has already collected more than enough intel about the USSC.”

“President Suh! I don’t know where you’re getting these ideas, but please stop being stubborn,” President Trump denied the claim to the end.

“President Trump! This issue concerns the lives of thousands, no, millions! I am only speaking to you about this to stop the war.”

“Enough. If you called me to talk about such nonsense, this conversation is finished.”

“Whew! I guess I have no choice. All I can say is, what happens from now on will all be your responsibility.”

“President Suh! You’re confident after defeating our Pacific fleet. However, the U.S. still hasn’t used a 10th of its military power. So, stop making such threats.”

“I apologize if you heard my statement as a threat. It’s not a threat, but rather a warning.”

“What? Did you just say it was a warning?” President Trump got off from his seat and pointed his finger at the camera.

“President Trump! You have no manners. Since that is the case, I would like to say one final statement. I am sure you know the movie ‘Planet of the Apes’. I don’t know if you have seen it, but the final scene of the movie depicts the Statue of Liberty half-buried in the sand. You will soon see the scene in real life, instead of a computer-generated one.”

“Wha- what...?”

Click!

After he finished the video call, President Suh Hyun-woo pulled out a cigarette he already had and lit it. As expected, the answer was no. He had hoped maybe the discussion with President Trump would work out and avoid causing casualties to America its ally by cutting out the USSC.

The war now will be fought with free use of weapons of mass destruction, and it could lead to a Third World War that could be the end of the human race.

President Suh Hyun-woo pulled a long drag from the cigarette and stared at the smoke in the air after breathing it out. Then, he picked up the receiver to call the Russian president.

The Japanese army base at Yamanashi Prefecture, Honshu, Japan

Vroooooooo~

Over 1,000 tanks and armored vehicles fired up their engines and caused the entire area to shake as if the Fuji mountain had erupted again. The 60th armored brigade took the lead to march towards Tokyo. The Corean armored forces were only 85km away from Tokyo in a straight line. If they took the Higashi Highway, then they would be 60km away from Tokyo’s western city, Hachioji.

Each battalion was given warnings about what to look out for while mobilizing. The 20th armored division’s leading force, the 26th armored battalion under the 60th armored brigade started to move towards the Higashi Highway.

Due to the fierce battles that took place, the Higashi Highway was quiet. The tanks started to take both lanes of the highway and moved in a two-line formation. The 20th armored division’s convoy was over 5km long.

The 17th aerial force’s 16 FAH-91SP Peregrine Falcon choppers were flying along the highway and guarding the skies and scouting ahead of the convoy. The 20 Spider II drones that each battalion deployed were also scouting ahead for enemies as well.

There was a possibility that the 20th armored division’s reconnaissance may not have detected all of the Japanese forces hiding for an ambush. So, they proceeded with caution.

Sergeant First Class Kim Young-joo, the gunner of the 712 tank under the 26th armored battalion of the 6th armored brigade, called over his vehicle commander, Master Sergeant Oh Young-taek.

“Master Sergeant Oh, sir!”

“What?”

“Shouldn’t we take 1st place for kills for the brigade, not the entire division, sir?”

“Hey! That’s a given. Didn’t you know? We will surpass the division and become the top gun for every single armored force within Corea. All right?”

“So, does that mean we will be promoted a rank again if we do, sir?” Sergeant Yeom Hoon-gi, the driver of the 712 tank, joined the conversation using his headset.

“Why? You want to get discharged with the rank of staff sergeant?”

“No, sir! I want to see you become sergeant major. Hahaha.”

“Hey! When you put it that way, I feel like an old man even though I’m still single. Don’t you think so?”

“You already look like an old man, sir!” Staff Sergeant Kim Young-joo, who was watching the scene through his periscope, teased the commander while smiling.

“What? You bastards! Do you all want to be P.T.-ed?”

“Ah! No, sir. We’re just making jokes! Hahaha!”

The 712 tank’s crew was in high spirits and the men started to crack jokes with each other. The barrel of the gun aboard the 712 tank was covered with the kill marks of enemy tanks. There were over 128 drawings of tanks and armored vehicles. They were the top gun of the 7th mobile corps.

February 24th, 2021, 11:30 (U.S.T 23rd, 22:30)

The depths 250km west of San Francisco, California, U.S.A.

The Super Hocula submarines Lee Hui-hyung (SSP-091), and Choi Jun (SSP-092) had sailed near the American western depths after setting sail 80 hours ago. They had taken a break for 12 hours at 1000m below the surface and prepared to strike.

The Lee Hui-hyung (SSP-091), and Choi Jun (SSP-092) had distanced themselves by 500km and started to rise to 100m below the surface.

The Super Hocula submarines were able to fire missiles with their vertical launch pads 100m below the surface. There were 20 rounds of SD-SKBN Gungnir-II missiles on the vertical launchpads that had a range of 15,000km and two modes of launch: ballistic and cruise. The reloading process only took 10 minutes for all 20 rounds, and each submarine had a total of 80 rounds.

The two Super Hocula submarines were equipped with enough missiles to take down an entire nation’s military facilities. They had finished making preparations to strike mainland America and were waiting for the naval command’s orders.

Seoul Yongsan-ku CC bunker (Tactical interception satellite CS-AD Zeus 3’s mission control)

A week ago, the CS-AD Zeus 3 satellite had moved over the American atmosphere 36,000km above the surface using its TCS (Transparent Cloaking System) and was currently standing by. The operators of the mission control for the satellites were busily working to prepare the satellite for action.

“Check the launch tubes for the Zinog missiles!”

“Zinog 2 missiles are loaded! All 8 rounds are operational, sir.”

“Great! Check the launch tubes of the Epirus missiles!”

“All 16 rounds of the Epirus missiles are operational as well, sir.”

Each operator reported to the director while typing away on the keyboard.

“Great! Open the launch tubes starting from the first Epirus missile!”

“Opening the launch tubes from Epirus missile 1. Launch tubes 1 and 2 are open!”

“Open the launch tubes for the Zinog missiles as well!”

“Opening the launch tubes of the Zinog missile. Launch tubes 1 and 2 are open!”

A moment later, two C-SE Epirus missile eight-round MLRS launch tubes, and two C-SH Zinog missile four-round MLRS launch tubes emerged from the Zeus 3 satellite’s exterior. The missiles were now ready to launch as soon as the order was given.

“Check the targets and specs for each missile.”

“Yes, sir. Checking over the 18 Epirus missile’s targets.”

“Zinog 2! Eight rounds! Checking over the targets again.”

The operators repeated the director’s orders. The main screen at the mission control started to mark the missiles’ targets on a map of the U.S.

The Super-EMP C-SE Epirus missiles’ targets were set for Washington D.C., America’s capital, New York City, the banking capital of the world, Boston, Atlanta, New Orleans, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Wichita, Denver, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Reno, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Spokane. There were 18 cities targeted in total. The 18 Epirus missiles were set to turn a 21st-century civilization back to the stone age.

The C-SH Zinog II missiles were the improved version from the ones aboard the Zeus 1 satellite. Its power was improved by a 1Mt nuclear bomb. These missiles were targeted at the North American Aerospace defense command’s military bases which was a major part of America’s MD systems.

After the war against America started, Corea’s NIS and the military’s Defense Security Command Headquarters foreign intelligence teams worked day and night to find the locations of America’s missile interception forces. Their efforts paid off, and the two organizations managed to find most of the American missile force’s military bases which operated underground missile silos.
