Chapter 355 – Why did the turtle eat the cookies? (2)
As the banquet ended sort of late, Fang JunRong thought that XinYun would sleep in today as well. Unexpectedly, XinYun got up early in the morning.
XinYun yawned as she said to Fang JunRong, “It’s a classmate’s birthday today so we made plans to go to karaoke together and that will also double as her birthday celebration.”
Fang JunRong smiled at her, “Must be someone you are close with then.”
As lazy as this girl was, she would probably rather be home sleeping otherwise. It had been a rough few days leading up to her birthday banquet.
Li XinYun chomped down on the fruit. She felt that she had been revived after she had finished an apple. “Mmm, yeah. We were always in the same class starting grade school all the way through senior high school and our birthdays are only one day apart. What are the odds of that, right?”
She had a point there.
Fang JunRong asked, “You have a gift ready?”
“Of course, since a long time ago.”
Something suddenly occurred to Li XinYun. “Speaking of, I had a nightmare last night. I don’t remember all the details but I remember the part that my face was ruined and I killed myself by jumping off of a building.”
She still had lingering fear after she had woken up. Luckily, it was just a nightmare.
For some inexplicable reason, she felt hatred whenever she thought about Li ShiZe and Li WangJin.
Could it have to do with the nightmare that she had the night before?
Hearing her words, Fang JunRong hand that was holding onto a fork paused.
She said to XinYun, “It was just a dream.” That was right. That would not happen in this lifetime.
Her daughter would be happy and healthy for life and her life had just started.
Li XinYun did not know her mother’s thoughts but also didn’t spend too much time dwelling on her dream.
Her plan was to get a makeover so she could attend her friend’s birthday dinner in her best self.
She had just walked inside her bedroom when she let out a loud scream. “No! What are you doing, Kuaikuai? Let go! No! Stop eating! No biting my gift!”
Fang JunRong could hear her screaming all the way from downstairs and she quickly ran upstairs.
As soon as she got inside her room, she saw XinYun complaining to her with her cheeks all puffed up. “Mom, look at Kuaikuai! How could it?!”
Fang JunRong saw Kuaikuai happily nibbling on some small cookies.
Li XinYun complained, “The cookies were handmade for me by my friend. The snacks that she made are delicious.”
She had planned to snack on those in the afternoon.
After all, they wouldn’t keep for very long.
Fang JunRong robbed her temples and had no idea why the turtle who had always been a picky eater suddenly became interested in these cookies? Did these cookies smell better than the others?
That didn’t make sense either. There had always been delicious snacks around the house but Kuaikuai basically only ate things from the dimension.
Unfortunately, she could not communicate with the turtle and had no idea what the turtle was thinking.
Kuaikuai was also very possessive, it had wanted to snatch the cookies back but, when it saw Fang JunRong, it listlessly lowered its head.
Narrowing her eyes, Fang JunRong picked up a few pieces of the cookies with tweezers, put them inside a bag, and had someone deliver them to the laboratory for further examination.
Was there mystical energy in the cookies? If that was the case, perhaps they could invest in XinYun’s classmate’s shop.
XinYun sighed and said, “Nevermind. I didn’t pay it enough attention. I’ll just apologize to her.”
It was a well-meant gift from her friend and kind of awful to end up being eaten by their pet at home, even if her friend didn’t know about it.
Then XinYun started to get worried. “Can turtles eat cookies? Would it get diarrhea?”
Fang JunRong’s lips twitched a little and said slowly. “I don’t think so.”
The turtle, after all, came from the dimension. It could even eat jades and gems. How could some cookies hurt it?
There were some cookies left in the box but Fang JunRong was certain that Li XinYun would not be eating them. Those were, after all, leftovers from Kuaikuai. Fang JunRong started feeding the remaining ones to Kuaikuai.
To her surprise, Kuaikuai quickly devoured the entire box of cookies that was enough to make an adult human to be half-full.
Had someone stacked up all of the cookies, they would be bigger than Kuaikuai in size! Kuaikuai was eating so happily and so fast that Fang JunRong didn’t even realize it until she had fed it the entire box.
Li XinYun had a solemn look on her face. “ is its mouth connected to a different dimension? Where did all the food go?”
