Chapter 99 - March Into the Fierce Beast Hunting Union
Chapter 99: March Into the Fierce Beast Hunting Union
The next morning, Mike woke up in a daze in an unfamiliar bed.
“Where am I? Why does my head hurt so much?”
He held his slightly swollen head in his hands.
His memory was quite fuzzy as well.
“I seem to remember arriving at a place called the Desert Courier Station, and then I met Mr. Hankov, and then…”
“That’s right!”
Mike suddenly seemed to remember something.
He lowered his head and looked at himself.
Mike found that a golden aura had appeared on the surface of his skin.
It looked like the layer of lines that the Blue-Eyed White Dragon created during its attacks.
“How… How did it become like this?”
Mike was puzzled.
Just then, the door to the room suddenly opened.
“Mike, do you feel better now?”
Mike raised his head and looked at Hankov who had suddenly appeared in front of him.
“Teacher, why did I become like this? What is this thing on my body?”
Listening to Mike’s question, Hankov merely smiled calmly.
“Don’t be nervous, that’s just the golden stripe produced by your demigod body!”
“Listen, Mike, we have a very important thing to do today!”
“A very important thing?” Mike asked with some doubt.
Hankov looked at Mike’s doubtful eyes and nodded with a smile.
Then he said again, “That’s right! We are going to the Fierce Beast Hunting Union today!”
“Will we be leaving today?”
Mike’s eyes showed some doubt.
He had always thought that he was very strong.
However, ever since he met Hankov yesterday, he had fallen into a strange cycle of doubt about his own strength.
Hankov seemed to see the hesitation in Mike’s eyes.
He smiled lightly.
Then, he walked to Mike’s side and patted his shoulder.
“Don’t worry! It won’t kill you!
“Now pack your things, we’re ready to go!”
…
Mike and Hankov walked in the middle of the vast desert.
Yellow sand filled the air. The deeper they went, the harder it became for them to breathe.
Finally, Hankov slowly slowed down.
Just then, Mike also saw a huge cracked canyon.
The canyon blocked the path from the Great Leno Desert all the way to the east.
“We’ve reached!” Hankov said.
Not far from the canyon, several scattered Fierce Beasts were wandering around.
Mike also discovered that among these Fierce Beasts, the lowest level was an Epic-Level Fierce Beast.
“Should we rush straight up and kill them, or take a detour?” Mike asked Hankov.
Hankov replied.
“We can only go head-on now. This is the only way to enter the Fierce Beast Hunting Union.”
Mike thought, ‘Let me finish them!’
Then he continued out loud, “Just let me test the power of this Demigod Body!”
With that, Mike flew towards the group of Fierce Beasts alone.
The Fierce Beasts did not notice Mike’s arrival at all.
Mike laughed in disdain.
“You d*mn guys! Don’t underestimate me!”
A heavy punch landed on the face of one of the beasts.
Blood flowed out from the wound.
Soon, all the beasts had been killed by Mike alone.
“Alright, since you’ve killed all the beasts, we can enter the canyon now!” Hankov said.
The two of them approached the edge of the canyon.
They stood on the cliff and looked down at the endless abyss.
The two of them sucked in a breath of cold air.
“I didn’t expect it to be this deep!
“How do we go down?”
Hankov took a bunch of ropes out from his backpack.
Then he said, “Use this!”
Hankov stabbed one end of the rope into the cracked wall beneath his feet.
The other end of the rope was thrown into the canyon.
“There! Just like this. We can go now!”
Hankov handed the remaining rope to Mike and was about to grab the rope and go down.
Mike then said, “Teacher, are we really going to go down like this?”
Hankov nodded.
“This is the only useful way! The depth here is not like what you see!
“If you don’t want to die, follow me now!”
As he said this, Hankov took the lead to hold the rope in his hand and move down.
Mike could only follow according to what he saw.
Soon, the two of them followed the rope all the way to the bottom.
Mike saw a black door.
“This is the entrance of the Fierce Beast Hunting Union. Let’s go in now!” Hankov said.
Mike slowly walked over to the black door.
He pushed it hard with his hands, and the door made a sizzling sound.
The sound was like the whisper of a demon.
After the door had been completely pushed open, what he saw before him was a long black corridor.
The walls of the first floor had been decorated with many lamps that were emitting green smoke.
The whole atmosphere in the entire Fierce Beast Hunting Union was very strange.
However, even after looking around, he could not find a single Fierce Beast.
“Let’s go!” Mike said to Hankov.
After they had both walked into the interior of the first floor of the Fierce Beast Hunting Union, the gate of the Fierce Beast Hunting Union suddenly slammed shut.
Mike tried to open the gate, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not open it.
Hankov said, “How can this be? This has never happened when I came here before!”
“What should we do now?” Mike said.
Hankov hesitated for a moment, but could only say, “Forget it, I think we should continue to move forward! Anyway, we didn’t come here just to leave!”
With that, he continued to walk further in.
Hankov walked in the front while Mike followed behind him.
After passing through a long corridor, the two of them finally arrived at the stairs that lead to the second floor.
When they walked up to the second floor, Mike found that the layout of the second floor was more like a forest.
“Why would there be a forest in this strange beast tower?”
“How could this happen? Why did it become like this?” Hankov said.
“Teacher, you don’t know the reason why either?”
Hankov shook his head and continued, “I don’t know why, but everything here has changed greatly from what I remember of the Union!”
Before he had finished speaking, three Legendary-Level Fierce Beasts jumped out from the forest.
Their eyes were red as they started to attack the two of them.
“Mike, get ready! Enter Battle Mode!
“These guys aren’t strong, you can take care of them yourself!” Hankov laughed.
“Roger!”
As he spoke, Mike charged towards the direction of the beasts.
A heavy punch landed on the face of one of the beasts.
