Chapter 967: Working Together Again

Although I Love Big Boobs was being annoying, there was some truth behind what he said.

Lu Li and Square Root Three discussed with the higher ups in the guild about this and agreed. Sesame Rice Ball began summoning players via his teleportation skill while Lu Li contacted Water Fairy, who apparently had a thing with Lu Li.

It was definitely beneficial for both parties to clear a new map together. There was no reason for Water Fairy to reject his offer because they had worked together before and she knew that Lu Li was fair in dividing up the loot.

The First Clear obviously belonged to Ruling Sword, but Drizzle Court would be compensated with loot.

Because of how high the Boss’ level was, Drizzle Court assigned their No.1 Druid Tank Deep Watersong as well as two or three other tanky classes as backup.

The Warlock who had learned Summoning Portal was teleported by Sesame Rice Ball and they worked together to double the speed at which the players were summoned.

Ruling Sword assigned three Elite groups and five quasi-Elite groups, while Drizzle Court sent out five Elite groups. The two parties added up to more than 1,300 players. This sort of large scale expedition wasn’t unheard of in the past and was becoming more and more common as the game continued to expand.

In actuality, when a guild sent out a thousand players to defeat a wild boss, eight hundred of those players were there to guard the main party and secure the perimeters from enemy players.

There were very few players who had yet to set foot in the Underworld. Even if they had the coordinates, it was difficult for them to find the cave and therefore, they wouldn’t be able to enter. As such, Lu Li wasn’t worried about other players stealing their kill and the players from each guild could all be put to use in the battle.

The number of players were a lot more than Haggle expected, which boosted his confidence.

“Linked Aggro does not mean that if you hit a monster, all the monster will immediately swarm towards you and attack you. Once we attack a monster, each player will be on the aggro list and the monsters will attack whomever they have the most aggro towards. In other words, there will be countless waves of monsters attacking us once we begin fighting,” Lu Li explaind.

When there was a large group of monsters, this limit usually applied.

Lu Li wasn’t sure whether the Boss would join in on the fight right after they began. As such, he would prefer to allocate some time for his teammates to get in position. Lu Li gathered up the small group leaders and explained to them the procedures and positioning for each individual group.

Three sets of Main Tank and Healers were first distributed to each group, after which the DPS classes were filled in.

This was quite easy because DPS classes were allocated based on the Boss’ weakness. For example, Mages were assigned to low Magic Resistance bosses. If there was a need to reassign mid-fight, then that wouldn’t be a problem either.

Since there were three Bosses, it would be impossible for Lu Li to coordinate all everyone in the fight if he was in the battle himself. Instead, he decided to oversee everything with Square Root Three from vantage point upon a small hill.

Water Fairy also chose not to participate.

“Begin!”

As soon as the commander gave his orders, one of the Hunters shot an arrow towards the Rockjaw monster and pierced through its body, taking a small chunk from its HP bar.

After this, the stats appeared before Lu Li.

As expected of a Lv50 monster, it’s HP was absurdly high.

The battle had officially begun and all the monsters stopped what they were doing as their eyes filled with bloodlust and vengeance. Without any instructions at all, they began to swarm towards the players.

A shield-wielding Main Tank stood between his party members and the monsters. When they were close enough, the ranged classes began raining skills upon them.

There were monsters that were instantly killed before they even reached the Main Tank. Their Defense and HP were like nothing under the heavy fire of the ranged players.

Some monsters were using ranged skills, including the Shaman Priests who were throwing thunderbolts and enraging the Rockjaw Troggs with their magic.

Based on the initial encounter, the players had the obvious advantage over the monsters.

Their planned-out positioning and extremely defensive front lines gave them a massive advantage, causing the Rockjaws to scatter and fluster, not knowing what to do. The monsters at the back began circling in place because the area was too crowded and they couldn’t reach the players.

Suddenly, a gigantic Rockjaw monster called O’Brien appeared and let out a furious, thundering roar.

“Prepare for the Boss fight. Remnant Dream, use Misdirect on Deep Watersong,” Lu Li calmly commanded as he glanced at the Boss.

Since the Bosses did emerge as one unit, the game plan was simple. The main team would focus on the Boss while the rest would focus on clearing out the monsters.

“Why not use Misdirect on Azure Sea Breeze?” Water Fairy was worried. Although she was confident in her Main Tank’s equipment, he was only Lv47 and would take a lot of damage.

“Usually, the stronger Bosses appear later. I’ve got two Healing Paladins assigned to healing him, so as long as he doesn’t get insta-killed, he’ll be fine,” Lu Li explained.

“The Boss is level 55 though; are you sure about this?”

Level 55 would be six levels above Lu Li and around seven to eight levels above everyone else. If the Boss was more than 10 levels higher, then Deep Watersong would stand no chance.

However, the damage that the players dealt to O’Brien was still reduced. O’Brien smashed his hammer onto Deep Watersong, dealing Critical damage.

“I don’t have any other choice. It’s what’s best for the mission,” Lu Li said as he looked over towards Haggle. The Dwarf was actually dealing a considerable amount of damage and didn’t seem to draw away the aggro.

Haggle was dealing around ten times the damage of the players, not including critical hits.

“Is that the NPC that gave out the quest? What sort of quest is it that we need to clear out a Rockjaw Nest?” Water Fairy asked.

Lu Li didn’t want to hide it from her and explained to her how the three girls had built an orphanage. The mission was a one-time opportunity and there wasn’t much point in explaining it from the beginning.

Water Fairy thought about this and could not hide the disappointment in her face. However, Lu Li knew that she would sponsor them for their cause anyways.
