Chapter 738: A New Levelling Method
"If there’s nothing else, I’ll talk to you next time," Remulos said as he waved his hand, indicating that Lu Li could leave now.
Lu Li stood up before stopping to ask, "Can I pick the players that I will be doing this quest with?"
The first person that came to mind was...
Lu Li was a little confused, but it was Water Fairy.
How strange.
Shouldn’t it have been Azure Sea Breeze, the number one Main Tank who could tank attacks from Sargeras himself, or March Rain, the powerful healer who Lu Li had always trusted?
Why did he think of Water Fairy?
She was a Thief, just like Lu Li. The occupation that a Thief hated the most was another Thief. She wasn’t that different from Lu Li and would want the same equipment and Skill Books.
This strange thought made Lu Li feel ashamed and guilty towards his teammates.
"Oh, sorry. I can only choose one," Remulos said while shaking his head. He was probably just responsible for finding an individual who could be their ’savior’.
"Alright then. When can I upgrade my ring next?"
He had asked before, but Lu Li wanted to ask again.
In the future, it would be more difficult, but the stronger it was, the greater the benefits.
He hadn’t earned enough money yet as he still had debts to pay and his sister to take care of. Perhaps in the future, he would also have to take care of her children...
To put it simply, someone who was afraid of poverty always thought a few steps ahead.
"Well..."
The strange thing was that Remulos didn’t ask Lu Li to find Malfurion like last time. Instead, he thought for a moment before saying, "I think you should kill a Burning Legion Boss. After collecting the blood of the Boss, find the Bloodfang Worgen. They will allow you to use their altar to instill the strength of the Boss into your ring."
"Why didn’t you say this last time?" Lu Li had been quite stressed recently about finding Malfurion.
Malfurion was so hard to find that even his wife Tyrande couldn’t find her. All he could do was to wait for him to return from the Emerald Dreams.
"Previously, the Bloodfang Worgen wouldn’t agree to it it, but now, you should be able to use the Bloodfang Altar," Remulos explained innocently.
"Will it promote the ring?" Lu Li thought that if he gathered more rare materials, he could further upgrade the ring.
"No," Remulos bluntly said.
"Keeper of the Grove, are you messing with me?" Lu Li was speechless. He felt like his time was being wasted.
"Your ring is able to convert rare materials into EXP and properties through the Bloodfang Altar, which is one of its benefits," Remulos said seriously.
Lu Li hoped he wasn’t being lied to. If that was the case, he could just use rare materials to upgrade it.
"Is it only the Bloodfang Altar that can do this?" Lu Li asked cautiously.
"In the ancient times, a Night Elf Druid accidentally discovered a natural altar which was said to be the birthplace of the Druid’s Wolf Form. It had the full power of the Wolf Spirit and allowed Druids to transform into a Wolf, greatly increasing their combat effectiveness," Remulos said.
"And then?" Lu Li had begun to believe him.
"Malfurion opposed this power as he believed the form was uncontrollable and would devour the Druid who used it. He was right, but the Druids were unwilling to give it up. They used the Emerald Dream’s power to build a Blood Altar which resulted in the Druids of the Claw. They were brilliant in the fight against the Burning Legion, but Malfurion’s worries were not without reason. You know how that story ended," Remulos continued emotionlessly.
"Will I face the same problem if I use the Bloodfang Altar?" Lu Li was a little worried.
"Hasn’t the problem already been resolved?" Remulos asked with a smile.
"Uh... that it can continually produce Worgen that can be trained to Krug’s level of strength? If that was the case, the Burning Legion would be no problem.
"Oh. If you wanted to raise an ordinary Druid to Krug’s level, the resources you would need would be unimaginable. A lifetime wouldn’t be long enough to gather those materials," Remulos smirked.
Lu Li hated that fact, but there was nothing he could say.
Dawn was just a very big game of chess, but the difference in power between the players and the NPCs
was too great. The time that it would take to reach an NPC’s level would be far off into the future.
Lu Li had fantasized about killing Sargeras, but the more he learned, the more he knew that he wouldn’t even be able to withstand his shadow. Not even if he was level 60, 70 or even 80...
The early stages of Dawn were very important, but even though Lu Li had never experienced them before, he suspected that there was a level of Strength achievable in the end game that allowed the players to compete with the NPCs.
"Can my friends use the Bloodfang Altar?" Lu Li asked, hoping to help his teammates.
His level had soared compared to the rest of his team. In addition to the Trolls of the Hinterlands, he had hoped to find a safe and effective way to improve their levels.
There were even members like Fat Monkey who had been killed by the Gangnam Royals and had lost some levels. If Lu Li didn’t ban him from PVP, he would probably be below level 40.
"The Bloodfang Worgen are your friends, so that will open up their altar for you. As for the others, they don’t have a Supreme Ring, nor are they on good terms with them," Remulos said as he shook his head.
The Bloodfang Worgen were actually a proud and secluded race, who had hidden away for many years. They had only talked to Lu Li because he had done something for them.
"Alright, thank you," Lu Li said with regret.
He decided to visit the Bloodfang Worgen to take a look at the altar. It was a bit strange since he had just left, but he needed to confirm Remulos’ words.
After using the Blessing of the Bloodfang Worgen, Lu Li was sent directly into the ancestral land of the Bloodfang.
Two patrolling Bloodfang Worgen saw Lu Li and quickly welcomed him. Their Teleportation Channel wasn’t fully open and was exclusive only to their friends.
"The Lord has gone to find ingredients to the formula," the Bloodfang Worgen guardian said respectfully.
When Lu Li asked if he could use the Bloodfang Altar, the two guards couldn’t give him an answer. However, they took Lu Li to find a Bloodfang Altar Priest who agreed with his request.
They now didn’t need to rely on the Bloodfang Altar to suppress their Wolf Form, so it was far less important to them now.
