Chapter 119 - The Little Angel With A Broken Wing (14)

The underwater world wasn’t something that many people dreamt of. Phi Phi Island was one of the world’s diving paradises which offered deep diving to a depth of 30 meters and underwater visibility of 10 to 25 meters. The underwater world was extremely fascinating with coral reefs rising from the ocean floor to soar to the surface, huge gardens of coral reef and incredible numbers of colorful marine creatures from the shallow dive sites, to the limestone walls, and deep caves. It was extremely stunning!

It was a free and easy day. After Lu Jia’er accompanied Jin Xiangdong for breakfast, both of them went for a dive. Jason, Li Zheng and Su Han were going along with them.

All those who were going diving were expert divers except Lu Jia’er and Su Han. Hence, before Lu Jia’er and Su Han got into the water, they needed to get some basic training. However, they did not need a diving instructor. Instead they were under the guidance of Jin Xiangdong, Lu Jiaer and Su Han managed to quickly familiarize themselves with some diving skills.

“I will take care of Lu Jia’er. Su Han, you can choose anyone from the other two people to take care of you.” Jin Xiangdong said while everyone got ready as they stood on the deck, as soon as he finished clarifying he jumped into the water.

“Li Zheng, I will go with you.” without hesitation, Su Han chose Li Zheng.

Standing to the side, Lu Jia’er was grinning inwardly. Hearing Jason’s inner voice, it was true that the age old strategy—playing hard to get, proved effective every time.

When it came to relationships, the outsiders could only play cupid, whether the chemistry sparked between the two individuals was all driven by fate.

In a diving suit, Lu Jia’er plunged into the deep blue sea together with Jin Xiangdong, drifting through the colourful world of coral reefs. Time and time again, she would see schools of brightly coloured tropical fish brushing past her body. The underwater world was absolutely stunning and breath-taking as if living in a paradise.

Seeing such a surreal underwater world, Lu Jia’er was thrilled and kept swimming like a fish. Jin Xiangdong stayed by her side, both of them paused and moved on again and again while they spent their time enjoying each other’s company.

However, diving was a considerable drain on one’s energy. Lu Jia’er had gone ashore not long after while another rookie—Su Han, was already sitting on the deck before Lu Jia’er arrived. On the other side, Jin Xiangdong and a few more experienced divers were still enjoying themselves in the water.

The warm sunlight poured onto Liu Jia’er face. Her hair, that had been dripping wet before was now nearly dry from the warmth of the sun. Lu Jia’er drank some water from the bottle Su Han was holding.

“I didn’t expect that you were actually an expert in love.” Lu Jiaer looked at Su Han as she smiled.

“Sorry?” Su Han who was looking into the distance regained her focus.

“I said that you are a love expert.” Lu Jia’er put away the bottle.

“That’s nothing.” Su Han said humbly.

“Aren’t you afraid that Li Zhang would end up falling for you?” Lu Jia’er asked.

“If more people end up liking me, it just proves that I am charismatic.” Su Han grinned.

“But you have given your heart to Jason, haven’t you?” knowing that a lot of people found themselves attracted to Su Han, Lu Kia’er merely smiled

If Lu Jia’er wasn’t the one questioning her, Su Han would still be able to deny it. Up to this day, she had never managed to never lie to Lu Jia’er.

“Is there anything that Jason worried about over these past few days?” Su Han subconsciously leaned over as she asked.

Lu Jia’er merely took a glanced at Su Han. In fact, Jason was not worried, his pride was wounded and his heart broken when he saw the woman that he loved clinging to another man.

“I am not going to tell you.” Lu Jia’er did not tell Su Han.

“What do you mean? Even if you don’t tell me, I can feel that he is concerned.” Su Han poked Lu Jia’er with her hand.

“Are you sure? Jason is such a great man who is highly sought after and naturally likes being flattered by others. Moreover, there are a few girls courting him.” Lu Jia’er purposely said.

“You’re right. But all men have the desire for possessing and conquering. They will not cherish something that comes to them too easy. The best they never had is the best thing they ever had.” Su Han laughed.

“I know how far I can go,” beaming with pride, Su Han smiled contentedly.

Lu Jia’er thought to herself. If she did not tell Su Han that Jason had fallen for her, perhaps, Su Han would not be so cocky. It was not wrong to have self-confidence but it certainly lessened the joy of unexplored.

Lu Jia’er went inside to take a shower and then took a nap for an hour after returning to the room. She only woke up around four-thirty.

Standing at the balcony, Lu Jia’er stretched her body and enjoying the scenery as she leaned against the handrail. Not long after that, the bell rang. Lu Jia’er opened the door only to see Professor Li who had a bowl of fruit in his hands.

Apparently, Professor Li wanted to have a talk with Lu Jia’er and used the fruits as an excuse to stop by and visit.

“Professor Lu, are you free?” Professor Li paused for a while before he asked.

“Yes, I am. Please come in, Professor Li.” Lu Jia’er answered.

“Professor Lu, I know a very quiet coffee shop, do you mind if we go there?” Professor Li asked.

“Alright, let me change my clothes before we go.” Lu Jia’er did not refuse his invitation.

Ten minutes later, both of them were sitting at a corner of the coffee shop.

“Professor Li, the reason you came looking for me is due to what happened this morning?” Lu Ja’er asked before Professor Li told her.

“As the saying goes—It’s an ill bird that fouls its own nest. However, since you already know the details regarding the inner workings of my family, I would never hide it from you.” Professor Li said with a nod.

“I’ll keep it a secret,” said Lu Jia’er.

“Professor Lu, that’s not what I meant. In fact, I want to thank you. Perhaps, you would think that I am being ceremonious, however, I simply don’t know how to thank you.” Professor Li thanked Lu Jia’er again.

“My wife has depression. I wanted her to consult a psychiatrist, but she just didn’t listen to me. Since she has already told you our family issues, she must have trusted you to a degree.” Lu Jia’er had not uttered a single word while Professor Li continued speaking.

Lu Jia’er nodded slightly. In psychotherapy, it was very important to get the trust of patients. Many psychologists or counsellors would become the permanent consultants for the patients once they gained their trust. Moreover, they would be able to get more information that could help in further treatment and recovery processes.

“Perhaps, the way I got Qiqi to interact with us enabled Sister Guo Yen to confide in me,” Lu Jia’er said.

“That could be the main cause, but the reason I stopped by to see you is to get your advice. What can I do to boost the interaction between my wife and child?” Professor Li asked.

“You are encountering two people with different diseases. For Qiqi, he will gradually develop a set of his own behavioral system through training. However, your wife’s condition is more urgent and needs to be resolved immediately,” said Lu Jia’er.

“It’s my fault. I didn’t handle it well enough,” hearing this, Professor Li merely sighed.

“It is true that you didn’t handle it properly,” Lu Jia’er said in a straightforward manner.

“Especially on the issue of having a second child. I was caught between my mother and my wife. I simply did not know what to do.” Professor Li nodded silently.

Lu Jia’er knew the issues very well and she would never judge in regards to what was right from wrong. Everyone had their own stance and stubborn conviction.

“In fact, the key cause behind many family issues is lack of communication.” Lu Jia’er said.

“Yes, it is. I have been busy with my work for all these years. I didn’t have much time to have any talks with my wife and mother together.” Professor Li nodded.

“Professor Li, since you know the reason, have a good talk with them and try to restore your family relationship,” said Lu Jia’er.

“Yeah, Professor Lu, you are right. How should I start this?” Professor Li nodded again.

“There are two main knots in your wife’s heart—Qiqi’s education and having a second child.” Lu Jia’er answered.

“For Qi Qi’s education, I still insist for him to grow up in an ordinary environment. As for a second child, I will talk to my mother.” Professor Li said.

“I personally agree with you regarding Qiqi’s education. However, you must not neglect your wife’s feelings. She is not selfish, she is just ill,” Lu Jia’er said.

“I know she has depression, but I did not neglect her.” Professor Li said.

Perhaps, most men thought that after the whole day working outside, there was still a bunch of annoyances when they reached home. Not only did their wives not understand their struggle but they actually had the gall to stir up more trouble.

“Professor Li, have you ever thought about what kind of person your wife was before she got married and her attitude towards life?” asked Lu Jia’er.

“Everyone has their own expectations in life and the things they want to pursue. Perhaps, the current reality has stopped her from achieving her goals, but the expectations always remained in her heart.” Professor Li was slightly startled as Lu Jia’er explained further.

“I have truly neglected this. I have always thought that I could give my wife and child a good life through my hard work and that was my responsibility.” Professor sank into silence for a while before he finally spoke.

“You’re right that it’s your responsibility to take care of them. I know you have been working very hard. However, don’t you ever forget that Sister Guo Yan is not only your child’s mother, she is also your wife. She is an independent individual,” said Lu Jia’er.

Hearing this, Professor Li sank into silence again. After years of marriage, their lives had always revolved around bread and butter matters. Moreover, they had a special child—Qiqi. It was true that Professor Li had neglected his wife.

“Only those who tied the bell on the tiger will be able to take it off. Somehow, even the most profound psychiatrist is no match when compared to apologetic words from the person where all the issues began.” Lu Jia’er said.
