Chapter 1136 Another Fragment
Chapter 1136 Another Fragment

Looks like their objective is this portal. All those True Immortals were but a cover and bait. However, this is something avoidable to begin with. Of the 100 True Immortals dispatched, nearly all have died. It proves that this portal is not some ordinary object. Chen Feng remained hidden and he observed everything that was happening there.
The rate at which the runes was bursting apart rose higher and higher while the purple-gold palm became increasingly thick. In the end, a booming sound rang out from the portal before it fell silent. Then, the purple-gold palm assumed the form of a fist and smashed towards the portal.
One punch.
Two punch.
The aura of power that it radiated grew stronger and Sword Saint Windflow and the others had to back away.
After a total of 18 punches, the fist succeeded in smashing open the massive portal to reveal a deep-looking passageway. The purple-gold palm then disappeared.
“Let’s go!”
Sword Saint Windflow’s team of four revealed looks of delight and they flew into the passageway.
After they disappeared, Chen Feng appeared. However, when he moved closer to the passageway, a strong and invisible power obstructed him.
Oh? So, only Heavenly Immortals may enter. Even Heavenly Immortals who are too strong will be obstructed. No wonder the Six Daos Sword Faction would send out a few Heavenly Immortals for this. As for their experts, they are hidden.
If that’s the case, there is no problem here. The Heavenly laws within Chen Feng’s body began fluctuating. At that very moment, the aura emanating from Chen Feng’s body gained the eminence of a bona fide Heavenly Immortal.
Chen Feng had already refined 108 True laws and 64 Heavenly laws. In time, as his cultivation base increased, the 108 True laws will gradually transform into Heavenly laws as well.
This time, the power from the passageway did not obstruct Chen Feng. Just as the passageway was about to disappear, Chen Feng flew into it.
To Chen Feng’s surprise, he ended up meeting Sword Saint Windflow’s team of four the moment he entered.
A small and mysterious mountain rose up before him. It was unknown what materials were used to create it, but it gave off an atmosphere of thickness. A golden light flowed across it. Glancing at it, Chen Feng saw Sword Saint Windflow and his companions standing before the small mountain.
Seeing Chen Feng appear there all of a sudden, Sword Saint Windflow and the others were taken aback.
“Chen Qing, why are you here?” Sword Saint Windflow stepped forward and shouted, a wary look in his eyes.
“I accidentally came in. What is this thing?” Chen Feng then walked forward. At the top of the small mountain was a sphere the size of a palm. The sphere was spinning slowly, seemingly formed from energy.
“Hold it!” Sword Saint Windflow’s face sank and he moved forward to stop Chen Feng.
“This is something outside the scope of the mission. Senior Brother Chen, please head back.” Sword Saint Windflow stared at Chen Feng while the other three moved over to surround him.
“Going back now is likely impossible. You fellows should step aside. I just want to see what this is.” Chen Feng strode forward and the 64 Heavenly laws in him surged, causing formidable power to roil across the surface of his body.
The two sides made contact and Sword Saint Windflow’s team was immediately sent flying. Chen Feng, on the other hand, was unaffected at all and he continued moving forward to stand before the small mountain.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that it was a miniature mountain. At the height of only tens of zhang, Chen Feng was nonetheless able to sense the formidable power contained within it. Any attempts to collect the sphere of power at its peak will surely trigger this miniature mountain. Judging by the extraordinary power of the mountain, it was possible to imagine what would happen should that come to pass.
“Chen Qing, this is not something that you can interfere with!” Sword Saint Windflow had already gotten up. Seeing Chen Feng stand before the mountain, he grew anxious and his face turned somewhat contorted.
“This is something that our sect’s senior wants. I believe you should know the consequences of recklessly interfering with this.”
“I just want this miniature mountain.” Chen Feng suddenly stretched his hand to point forward.
“What?”
Sword Saint Windflow and his companions grew dumbfounded.
“That’s right. Your objective is likely the energy sphere at the top, but all I need is this item, a mountain-like platform. At best, it is just rare metals. How about it? We are all cultivators from the Six Daos Sword Faction. Working together for this is for the best, no?” Chen Feng said smilingly.
“Do you know what it is?”
Seeing as Chen Feng was not aiming for the energy sphere, Sword Saint Windflow calmed down.
“No. All right, enough with the chit chat. It’s agreed then. Now, tell me what this is.”
Only after he was standing before the miniature mountain was Chen Feng able to ascertain that it was something that he needed.
A fragment of the Great Wilderness Ding. This is the fourth one. Only, a Gold Immortal had refined it in the past, causing it to assume a different form. There is also the power and laws of a Gold Immortal within it. This can be considered as a double harvest. Only, refining the power within this fragment will be quite difficult.
The Great Wilderness Ding, a top-grade Divine artifact, had blown up into 108 fragments. Chen Feng had obtained three of the fragments thus far. As for this fragment before him, it would appear to be quite the sizable fragment. Chen Feng felt his heart stirring. It would appear that he was quite lucky.
Naturally, collecting it would not be easy either. That said, Chen Feng was still interested in finding out what that energy sphere was.
Needless to say, an item that was more valuable than the fragment of a Divine artifact was surely something else. And while Chen Feng said that he would not snatch it, Sword Saint Windflow and the others might not believe him.
“We do not have the exact details about it ourselves. We are simply following the instructions we were given.” By then, Sword Saint Windflow had already recollected himself and he gave a noncommittal response to Chen Feng’s words.
“As for what you said earlier. We are unable to make any decisions since we are not the ones who will be taking action.” Sword Saint Windflow said, and the jade talisman in his hand shone once again with a dazzling light.
The purple-gold palm appeared once again and it moved to grasp the energy sphere in an overbearing manner. However, the surrounding space shook turbulently and countless golden threads emerged from the void, transforming into streams of light, which then assailed the purple-gold palm.
As a result, the purple-gold palm was smashed and dispersed before it could even approach the energy sphere.
“I see. No wonder the expert did not come. The arrays here are actually so powerful. As expected of the arrays set up by a Gold Immortal.” Seeing what happened shocked even Chen Feng.
In other words, this fragment will also be very difficult to collect. Chen Feng, who had been thinking about taking action, had to temporarily dismiss the idea.
Sword Saint Windflow, on the other hand, did not reveal disappointment. He seemed to have expected this long ago. To Chen Feng’s surprise, Sword Saint Windflow’s demeanour had undergone a world-shaking transformation. His body had grown a few notches bigger and motes of golden light flashed around him. The look in his eyes changed and his gaze swept forward. For Chen Feng, it felt as though a great hammer had struck him. His mind shuddered and he had to back away. His soul showed signs of breaking down.
A half-step Gold Immortal. I wonder, did he see through my cultivation state? Chen Feng was secretly shocked.
Thankfully, the other party quickly retracted his gaze to once again turn his attention towards the energy sphere.
Boom!
A great hand stretched forward to grab the energy sphere. Once again, the surrounding space shook and cracks spread outwards. The other three Heavenly Immortals had been unable to evade in time and they were immediately ripped to pieces by the spatial cracks.
Ruthless! This fellow is vicious! Chen Feng’s figure darted away and two spatial cracks that were spreading towards him missed.
The half-step Gold Immortal who took over Sword Saint Windflow’s body simply did not care about the lives of others. His ultimate objective was the energy sphere.
As space had been shattered, a high number of cracks appeared. By then, Chen Feng had been forced to utilize the Longevity Steps to continuously evade the cracks. Additionally, due to the coercive atmosphere of power from the half-step Gold Immortal, Chen Feng had to constantly back away. In the end, he found himself with no way to evade and one of the spatial cracks struck him, causing a flower of blood to bloom. It had managed to inflict a wound upon his body.
Sou! Sou!
Two more cracks intertwined as they moved towards Chen Feng, who waved his hand to cause XXX to burst forward. Not only did this move fail to eliminate the two cracks, it instead triggered even more spatial cracks.
Several more wounds appeared on Chen Feng’s body.
Given Chen Feng’s present physical body, he was already capable of going straight through the void storms in outer space. He could even take on Heavenly Lightning without taking damage. And yet, the space around them was something that a Gold Immortal had reinforced before. Chen Feng was only able to endure this long by relying on the ghost-like manoeuvres of the Longevity Steps.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The spatial cracks kept appearing and the top-grade Immortal artifacts that Chen Feng brought out against them were simply incapable of blocking the spatial cracks. Rather, they were easily torn apart.
Unexpectedly, I would end up facing this kind of danger. Chen Feng felt highly dejected. With a punch, two spatial cracks were shattered. Though, doing so caused his fist to become utterly stained with blood.
Shua!
Finally, the Longevity Wings unfurled and Chen Feng seemingly transcended space-time. The power of his movement technique abruptly became 10 times stronger. When countless cracks moved over to engulf Chen Feng, his figure flashed forward before re-appearing elsewhere. It was as though the seemingly-invincible spatial cracks had lost the ability to affect him.
To think that the Longevity Wings would experience a breakthrough at a time like this. Various types of runes flashed across the surface of the Longevity Wings and gentle streams of light flowed without respite to give it an even more beautiful look. Meanwhile, strands of the power of laws coursed through them, filling them with the power to rip apart everything. Chen Feng felt as though he had become free, detached from everything.
Shua! Shua! Shua!
Next, Chen Feng began flitting through the chaotic stretch of space. By then, the space there had seemingly become filled with layer after layer of cobwebs. It was terribly damaged. And yet, Chen Feng had only needed several turns to make his way through the cracks. Emerging, he then saw that Sword Saint Windflow had obtained the energy sphere. Wave after wave of terrifying power assailed the surrounding space, causing it to completely break down. Chen Feng thus became like a butterfly in the face of a tsunami, in danger of being drowned at any moment.
In the face of such absolute power, even the Longevity Wings was affected.
Chen Feng cast his gaze upon the miniature mountain which was submerged within the void and his eyes lit up. A black suit of armour appeared to encase his body. This was the altered form of the Great Wilderness Ding’s fragments. Next, whenever the chaotic energy streams there approached Chen Feng, no matter how overbearing and capable of destroying space-time they were, the suit of armour Chen Feng wore would shine with a faint divine light to unravel them.
Sou!
The miniature mountain, a fragment of the Great Wilderness Ding, felt a pulling power from the suit of armour that Chen Feng wore and flew towards him. Before Chen Feng could even respond, it had already fused into the suit of armour. Next, the suit of armour emanated a formidable wave of power, quaking Chen Feng to the point of puking out blood. Chen Feng found that he was gradually losing control over the fragments of the Great Wilderness Ding.
This is bad! This is the handiwork of the will of the Gold Immortal within the fragment! Chen Feng was greatly shocked and his soul flame began burning furiously. He was only barely able to have the fragments maintain their shape, that of a suit of armour to protect him from the chaotic spatial energy streams.
