Chapter 314 - Cooperate Obediently (乖乖配合)
Logically, this shouldn’t be possible, since Jing Yun Zhao doesn’t have a good family background, and although she had money, she was ultimately still a highschool student. Even if she found a job, with her qualifications, the highest job position she could achieve would only be a waiter. However, there was no way a manager would listen and follow the orders/ decisions of a waiter.
Could the tea house actually be owned by Jing Yun Zhao...?
Jiang Wen Sheng considered it for a moment, before shaking his head vehemently.
Although Jing Yun Zhao scammed 100,000 yuan from them, to open a tea house of such caliber, 100,000 yuan wouldn’t be enough. Even if it was 500,000 yuan, it may not even be possible to open a tea house.
Tea leaves, tea equipment, employees, decorations, all of these required money! Additionally, rumours have spread that the plot of land was sold to the owner of the tea pavilion. How could Jing Yun Zhao be able to afford it?
So why was Jing Yun Zhao taking charge in the tea house previously?
“We’re also not too sure about this. Anyways, with the way Jing Yun Zhao speaks and how Manager Chu treats her compared to the others, you would think that she’s the true manager.” Jiang Xia said while grumbling.
“Hubby, didn’t she also appear at our tea house previously? Could she be digging up dirt on others to sell?” Mother Jiang asked.
A sliver of anger appeared on Jiang Wen Sheng’s face when he heard Mother Jiang’s question, before he calmed himself down, thinking that it wasn’t possible.
Our tea house doesn’t have any skeletons to hide anyways as we’re only selling tea. One just needed to boil the leaves with water then it could be consumed already, what was there to investigate? If it wasn’t for the fact that I mistook the Heartbreak Grass as tea leaves, I would’ve believed that Jing Yun Zhao’s goal was to poison our guests.
However, no matter what, the animosity between the Jiang Family and Jing Yun Zhao has been established.
Jiang Wen Sheng kept his cruel and poisonous thoughts in his heart and continued observing the situation in Yu Ling Tea Pavilion. However, after a few days of waiting, he noticed the flow of business in Yu Ling Tea Pavilion didn’t decrease at all, causing him to make a phone call.
Two days later, as Jing Yun Zhao was on the way back from Old Man Xu’s house, she suddenly felt murderous intent in the surroundings.
The little alleyway was filled with around 40-50 people at both points of exit, with the people behind her advancing, and the people who were in front of her were leaning against the wall while smoking, while some were squatting on the floor as if they were waiting for someone. The moment they saw her, they started walking towards her slowly, wanting to surround her. (C: UH SIS? I WOULD BE ABLE TO FEEL “MURDEROUS INTENT” TOO IF 50 PEOPLE SOMEHOW GATHERED NEAR ME)
Jing Yun Zhao took out her phone, however it was snatched by someone behind her while they said, “You’re Jing Yun Zhao right? Are you trying to call the police? How bout you try again later after 10 minutes.”
With her strength, she had the ability to protect her belongings, however it wasn’t the right time yet.
Adding on to the fact that she didn’t even have any intention to call the police.
“Who are you guys...” Jing Yun Zhao said while faking a frightened expression.
“Now you’re afraid?” The leader of the gangsters said with a smile, chuckling as he continued, “Everybody look, that family’s spokesperson said that she was very skilled in martial arts, but look at her now, she ain’t much right?”
“Little sister, I suggest you cooperate with us obediently and to not retaliate or you’ll get beaten much more severely. They only wanted us to break one of your hands and legs, then give your face some cuts. How bout this, seeing as your face is so pleasing, we’ll cut it with care instead of simply cutting it? The leader of the gangster laughed as he continued.
His words were spoken without any hint of seriousness, as if her hands, legs and face were made from dough.
Jing Yun Zhao didn’t even need to think of who the culprit is as she replied, “Were you hired by Jiang Wen Sheng?”
The other party only grinned and didn’t say anything, yet from that, Jing Yun Zhao already knew the mastermind was Jiang Wen Sheng since no one else had a reason to target her. Although the He Family could be the true perpetrator, the chances of it were low since Tang Zi Hua told her that the Tang Family had already withdrawn their funding in two projects of the He Family. As of now, the He Family are too busy trying to survive to even have time to hire people to bully Jing Yun Zhao. Adding on to the fact that the He Family knew that they had crossed Old Man Tang’s bottom line, they dare not trouble Jing Yun Zhao anymore.
“You should stop finding trouble for yourself by asking so many unnecessary questions. Also, you can call the cops after we’re done with you, but if you say anything about us, you better watch out in the future, especially on dark and windy days like this...”
