Chapter 411 - The Puppet Talisman
Chapter 411 The Puppet Talisman
Qin Haodong was currently at the peak Covert Power’s ninth level, half-a-step to the Supreme Power Level. This was while Hu Xiaoxian had made considerable progress on her cultivation with the help of the Spirit Culturing Elixir; she was merely at the sixth level of the Covert Power.
If they fought with the three powerhouses on their own, there was little chance for them to win.
“Qin Haodong, how’s it going? Are you happy with all these I set for you?”
A man laughed arrogantly and popped out. It was the boss of the Jade Gang, Zhou Tianhu.
“So, you’re Zhou Tianhu.”
Even in that case, Qin Haodong still looked calm, not panicking at all.
“You’re right, that’s me.” Zhou Tianhu took two steps forward and looked at Qin Haodong with a reluctant look. “You messed up with my sister in Jiangnan City, beat my fellows and ruined my crucial plan. I have to kill you today.”
“It’s my honor that you’ve dedicated yourself to set me up,” Qin Haodong laughed and said, “Zhou Tianhu, how did you know that I would be in Burma?”
Zhou Tianhu said, “That’s easy. I’ve got informers in Jiangnan City, too. The Lin Group has a shortage of raw jade gemstone, and you would definitely come here, seeking for supply.
“Although you’ve changed your appearance, I can tell who Doctor Tang really was because you had disappeared completely from Jiangnan, then a Chinese medical practitioner cured the son of General Li Site.
“I wasn’t pretty sure, so I set you a trap, and you took the bait in no time.”
“That’s right, that’s exactly like the ungrateful trap you set for the man who raised you,” Qin Haodong was being ironical. “You said Li Zhong was the lure, but I don’t think he listened to you.”
“That’s right. Li Zhong took orders from the old-timer. After I got rid of the old-timer, he sneaked out and tried to save his master.
“I know he was a fish that escaped from the net, but I didn’t act on it. After confirming you were here in Burma, I sent someone to tell him the news, and had him informed that the old-timer was imprisoned in the cave. He bit the lure and became a lure himself for me to reel you in.”
Zhou Tianhu laughed proudly and said, “How about that? Wasn’t that a nice trap? Surprise!”
Qin Haodong actually agreed with him. Zhou Tianhu was scumbag, but he was smart. Qin Haodong would’ve known it if Li Zhong was one of Zhou Tianhu’s men.
Zhou Tianhu continued, “Qin Haodong, you have to die here today. Guess you want to know whose hand will do you in, so allow me to introduce the three bigwigs to you.”
He pointed at the man in black next to him and introduced, “He’s a supreme power from Southeast Asia, also known as ‘the Fastest Saber, Leng Feng’. I invited him here as soon as I heard that you were quite powerful so that he could cut off your head.”
Leng Feng was well-known for being greedy and concupiscent. That was why he accepted Zhou Tianhu’s invitation.
He cast a glance at Qin Haodong and looked at Hu Xiaoxian, announcing proudly, “Give that woman to me and I’ll give you a decent death.”
Before Qin Haodong could, Hu Xiaoxian stopped him and said, “Stop daydreaming! Look at yourself! Do you even know what you look like? I throw up every time I see you.”
Leng Feng’s face turned grim. He made his move in no time, but Zhou Tianhu stopped him. “Don’t get provoked by them, sir. You can do anything to that woman as long as you kill the gigolo boy.”
Leng Feng held back his anger. He sniffed and didn’t reply to Zhou Tianhu.
Zhou Tianhu pointed at Yagyuu Yukime and said, “This is Yagyuu Yukime, a Heaven-Level ninja from Nihon, also a supreme power.”
Qin Haodong looked at Yagyuu Yukime with an intriguing smile, “You don’t need to introduce her. We’ve already met. We’ve communicated so deeply that I can even remember her BWH.”
Seeing Qin Haodong taunting her, Yagyuu Yukime’s face turned murderous. “Damn you! I said I would kill you!”
Qin Haodong ignored her and looked at the Taoist standing in the middle.
That old man’s beard and hair were all gray, looking at least 100 years old. The black robe of his made him look like an immortal that wouldn’t involve himself in any vulgar affairs at all. Qin Haodong wondered why such a hidden powerhouse would go at him.
The key point was, the Taoist had already reached the second level of the Supreme Power Realm. Every breakthrough in the Supreme Power Realm could be tricky, so most of the cultivators could only stay at the first level until they died.
At the same time, those at the second level could be much stronger than those at the first level. For Qin Haodong, the old Taoist was a much bigger threat than Leng Feng and Yagyuu Yukime combined.
He asked, “Who’s this?”
Zhou Tianhu didn’t answer because the old Taoist had already opened his eyes. Cold lights flashed in them and he introduced himself calmly, “Hei Shi from the Qingyi School.”
Qin Haodong hesitated for a while and asked, “Aren’t you the master of the Qingyi School?”
“I used to be in charge, but now Dao Xuan has taken over my position.”
Qin Haodong said, “Master Hei Shi, I happened to kill Dao Tong, one of your scum disciples. Wasn’t that a favor to you? I understand that you don’t want to thank me, but do you really have to kill me?”
Upon hearing the name “Dao Tong”, Hei Shi gave out an overwhelming pressure and replied coldly, “You killed him, and I’m here today to avenge his death by killing you.”
Qin Haodong asked as if he had been strongly shocked, “Sir, you must’ve made a mistake. Dao Tong committed all manner of crimes through all these years. He carried out evil experiments on human beings and refined the Five Elements of Soul-nourishing Pill. Didn’t he deserve to die?”
Hei Shi said murderously, “No, he didn’t. And even if he did, you don’t have the right to punish him. I’ve lived for more than 100 years and he was my only child, still you killed him. Don’t you think you deserve to die?”
Qin Haodong didn’t know that when he went to Burma, Dao Xuan took Dao Tong’s body to the Qingyi School. Unlike what Dao Xuan had expected, Hei Shi didn’t look happy at all. The old man burst into tears and cried loudly.
It turned out that Dao Tong was Hei Shi’s bastard. That was why he hadn’t sentenced to death by Hei Shi, no matter how many rules he had violated before. Hei Shi had sent Dao Xuan to “get rid of Dao Tong” because Dao Xuan was his most trusted disciple.
Upon confirming the cause of Dao Tong’s death, Hei Shi was drowned in grief. He allowed Dao Xuan to act in his stead at the school, to pick up his sword and go after Qin Haodong to avenge his son’s death.
Qin Haodong said in amazement, “You’re a Taoist, how could you have a son?”
Hei Shi didn’t want to explain any of that to Qin Haodong. He snapped back, “Shut up! You’re so dead today!”
Zhou Tianhu looked at Qin Haodong as if he were a joke. He felt like a cat catching a mouse at that moment, which was the reason why he didn’t rush. He knew there was no way for Qin Haodong to get away as long as the three supreme powers were there.
“Qin Haodong, how’s this? Now that I’ve made it clear for you, you can go to hell!”
Hu Xiaoxian was already desperate when she heard who the three people were. She shared the same thoughts with Zhou Tianhu, believing that they had no way to escape that day.
She turned back and looked at Qin Haodong, eyes taken over by deep thoughts. “My little man, now I regret!”
Qin Haodong asked, “Regret what? Regret coming here with me?”
“No, I felt happy to die with you.” Hu Xiaoxian’s eyes looked gentle, “I regret not having slept with you before we came here. I hate it so much that I’m going to die without knowing how that feels.”
Leng Feng laughed with an obscene face, “Look at you, so coquettish and so pure! Rest assured. I’ll let you know how that feels right after I kill him.”
Qin Haodong held Hu Xiaoxian’s hand and said, “Take it easy, we won’t die here, not before the death of those three.”
He turned back all of a sudden and looked at the three with cold eyes. “You humiliated my woman? You’ll be the first one I kill today.”
Leng Feng laughed dramatically. “How dare you speak to me like that? You little bug.”
Qin Haodong said to Hu Xiaoxian, “Let’s kill him together.”
She took out two Wind Talismans and applied them to her and Qin Haodong. Then she took out a The Puppet Talisman, holding it in her hand. She prepared those talismans before they went to Shennongjia. It had never occurred to her that those things would be put into use that day.
“Kill him!”
As Qin Haodong yelled out, he and Hu Xiaoxian rushed toward Leng Feng. Qin Haodong raised his hand and threw out a stack of talismans in his hand.
Those talismans scattered in the wind and changed into dozens of duplicates of Qin Haodong and Hu Xiaoxian. They jumped on Leng Feng all together.
Leng Feng’s pupils contracted. He was just a warrior and knew little about Taoist tricks. Seeing those talismans turning into more than ten duplications of Qin Haodong and Hu Xiaoxian, he couldn’t tell which were real and which were fake.
But in the end, he was a supreme power. Although he couldn’t tell the fake from the real, he had his own way to solve the problem. He pulled out the saber on his back, slashing at the ten more figures before him.
The two figures in the front disappeared immediately after they had been cut into halves. Two pieces of talisman papers fell on the ground.
Soon, the second and the third pairs were cut by him and all of them turned into talismans.
At the same time, the other four pairs had already approached Leng Feng. With the assistance of the Wind Talisman, Qin Haodong and Hu Xiaoxian were twice faster than before. They rushed to Leng Feng at top speed.
Qin Haodong chose to attack Leng Feng first, not just because he humiliated Hu Xiaoxian; it was mostly because the array he set was there. They would be safe as long as they were in the array. Nobody would be able to lay a finger on them.
As they approached Leng Feng fast, a shadow showed up in front of them. Yagyuu Yukime blocked their way, with Doujigiri Yasutsuna in her hand.
Seeing Qin Haodong get away from his attack, Leng Feng was holding his saber with an extremely stern face.
However, he didn’t choose to chase after the two. He was a proud supreme power, and so was Yagyuu Yukime. She didn’t need another man to join her to fight with two opponents at the Covert Power Realm.
“Qin Haodong, you have to die today!”
Liu Shengxue looked grim. The knife in her hand cut like a flash. Three more talismans fell on the ground, leaving the real Qin Haodong and Hu Xiaoxian on the battlefield.
“You go first, I can handle this woman.”
Qin Haodong yelled loudly, pushing Hu Xiaoxian away from him. The Thousand Blades in his hand reflected cold lights. He stood in front of Yagyuu Yukime without hesitation.
