Ms. Doctor Divine

Chapter 2703 - 2704: Sky Sect 30

Lin Xue was extremely excited.

Every time Gu Chaoyan was about to go to the clouds, Lin Xue would be full of hope, thinking that Gu Chaoyan would be able to see the Heaven Emperor and that she would see him the next time.

But Gu Chaoyan acted as if she was in a one-man show.

She felt that the chances were slim, but every time she saw Lin Xue’s face, she couldn’t bear to tell the truth. She continued to wait with hope.

Of course, they were completely unaware of one thing.

The Heaven Emperor, whom they had been planning to meet, had actually been watching them the entire time. In fact, he had already met them.

The two of them continued to wash their clothes.

A person came in quietly from outside.

Gu Chaoyan swiftly turned, sensing the movement in an instant. Her guard was up, ready to strike at a moment’s notice.

Upon recognizing the person, she relaxed her stance and calmly questioned in a hushed tone, “What brings you here?”

Setting aside what she held, she ushered him to a slightly more secure spot. Although there wasn’t much tangible difference, Gu Chaoyan instinctively deemed this location safer.

“We’re not in the secluded back of the mountain, and there are too many watchful eyes here. Any misstep could lead to trouble. How did you manage to navigate through the crowd without being noticed? Discovery here could bring complications not just for you but for the Sky Sect as well,” Gu Chaoyan cautioned. Her focus was on meeting the Heaven Emperor, but their goals were different—they were invested in the future of the Sky Sect.

Errors in their actions could prove costly.

The Heaven Emperor noticed the concern in Gu Chaoyan’s eyes and found a strange warmth within. Embracing his current persona, he was troubled by the thought of explaining himself in the future. What if he could maintain this identity? The idea appealed to him, especially if it meant eliciting worry from her.

Did this fool realize he was the Sky Sect’s most formidable figure? Actions held no consequences for him, except in her presence.

“Don’t fret. I’m confident in my ability to remain undetected. I’m here just to ensure your well-being and will depart shortly,” the Heaven Emperor reassured, mirroring Gu Chaoyan’s soft tone.

Her assurance put Gu Chaoyan at ease, appreciating his thoroughness.

“I didn’t anticipate you reaping benefits from this unfortunate situation. The current circumstances seem preferable to the back mountain,” the Heaven Emperor remarked, expressing a sense of approval.

Lin Xue nodded in agreement, pleased with the turn of events. However, Gu Chaoyan’s demeanor didn’t reflect the same happiness.

“We exercise caution daily, and the Xing Sect’s leader constantly frets over potential mishaps, mentioning the name incessantly. It’s not as serene as the back mountain; there’s a constant air of tension. I miss the tranquility of the clouds and the company of familiar faces,” Gu Chaoyan shared with a hint of seriousness.

The Heaven Emperor was deep in thought.

He could not reveal his identity yet.

If he was exposed, how would he explain himself?

This was a very important matter.

But what Chaoyan said made his heart ache.

He felt that it shouldn’t be like this.

It seemed that he had to think of a way to prevent Chaoyan from being bullied by that stupid old man from the Sect Leader of Xing Sect.

“It’s a good thing anyway, so don’t think too much about it. That old man is just being long-winded. Just don’t take it to heart,” the Heaven Emperor consoled.
