Chapter 357: My Mistake 2

Chapter 357: My Mistake 2

Zheng Chenyi got a bit anxious. He had never been this anxious before. He got up, tugged Mrs. Duke North’s sleeves as he glared at her. “Mom, what did you say!”

Mrs. Duke North was feeling very guilty at the moment. She did not even notice that Zheng Chenyi had already sat up!

She felt pressure inside her heart, and felt so loaded. Chenyi was her son and the only person she could trust, so she admitted honestly, “I was worried that she had some ill intention in saving you, so I told her clearly that you are not marrying her! Chenyi, you have to marry someone who can help you! I just did not expect... I did not expect that she is Lord Huai’s woman! If I had known about that, I would not have said such things!” Mrs.Duke North regretted deeply and she looked miserable.

“Chenyi, it is my fault! But I hope that she will keep her promise of not mentioning this matter again.” Mrs. Duke North kept mumbling to herself.

Zheng Chenyi had no idea of what was spoken to him any more. He did not know that his mother and Lady Chaoyan had had such a conversation.

What kind of person would Lady Chaoyan he was?! Would she take him as that kind of person his mother spoke as?

As the voice kept nagging in his ears, Zheng Chenyi suddenly felt very annoyed!

“Stop it!” An angry bellow arose, shocking Mrs. Duke North.

She was shocked by this abrupt voice, so she stayed silent for a long while.

Chenyi had always been a mild-tempered person, and he had always been friendly to her and never talked loudly in front of her. What happened today? Did she really make a mistake, a huge one too?

Mrs. Duke North felt so regretful inwardly.

Zheng Chenyi did not think it was proper to bellow at his mother either... His mother had not had an easy time guarding Duke North’s Mansion alone, and because of that, she was so sensitive towards everything. He should not blame his mother. If not for her, he would not have been alive!

Zheng Chenyi suddenly felt quiet and his heated heart was tired.

He patted his mother’s hand and said, “Mom, it is fine, let the bygones be bygones. Lady Chaoyan is a very broad-minded person.”

“I am tired, mom, you must be tired from taking care of me too. Go and take some rest, I need to sleep too,” Zheng Chenyi said exhaustedly. He closed his eyes, but he did not feel like sleeping.

Various images appeared in his mind. He thought of the calm face of Lady Chaoyan when he was dying and the pretty, nice face of hers as she felt his pulse. However, as he thought of these things... he was suddenly reminded of the expression of his mother as she was talking with Lady Chaoyan.

His mother had mostly been friendly, but she was not an easy woman to deal with. She must have stared at Lady Chaoyan with a cold look, warning her not to cling to their family.
